In the wilds of Spokane

To attend Raven's sister's college graduation, it was necessary to take a road trip. Some of the kids tagging along has just become common with us, but this time they were in for a bit of a surprise.

 

 

Tama: "I'm having a bed picnic with Perry."

 

*Perry sticks his cracker in the hummus*

 

 

Mommy: "Isn't that pretzel kinda big for you Tama?"

 

Tama: "No. It's really flat. Looks like a car ran over it."

 

*Perry shoves the pretzel even further into the dip hoping to scoop up as much as he can*

 

Mommy: "I need to do a little bit of sewing and then it is time for bed."

 

Tama: "Okay Mommy."

 

 

Mommy: "Did you sleep good last night?"

 

Tama: "Yeah. I like the bed Mommy made for me. I've never slept in a hammock before."

 

Meanwhile in another part of the hotel room...

 

 

Yuriko: "Lies, lies, lies! How could anime be so wrong?" *sobs*

 

Mommy: "What's the matter Yuriko?"

 

 

Yuriko: "Look at this! Where are the little bottles of alcohol? Chocolates? Individually wrapped crackers?? Who stocks a hotel fridge with cheese, bean dip and carrots?"

 

 

Yuriko: "There's gotta be more food around here..." *Shoves the chair up to the counter*

 

 

Yuriko: "We have a huge kitchen so of course there's food around here and I'm going to find it."

 

 

Yuriko: "We're all gonna STARVE!" *sobs*

 

Mommy: "Daddy and grandma will be back from the store in a little bit."

 

 

Yuriko: "This place really stinks. This is not what a hotel should be like. We don't even have room service!"

 

 

Yuriko: "I'll just call Sprout. She knows about stuff. I bet she could fix this."

 

Mommy: "Don't you dare young lady!!"

 

Meanwhile...

 

 

Miku: "I wonder what's behind this door?"

 

 

Miku: "Amenities!"

 

 

Miku: "It has been ages since I've been able to properly pamper myself. A good long soak will be just the thing."

 

 

Miku: *yells* "Hey Yuriko... SPA DAY!"

 

 

Yuriko: "Wait for meeeee Mikuuuu!♥"

 

Miku: "I'm not sure if I would recommend this hotel. I'd give it about 3.5 stars. It's clean, roomy, has plenty of beds and two closets but they could really work on the ambiance. I mean who picked out that bedspread?? Barf-o-rama. And who's brilliant idea was it to not have a door, curtain, or anything to block off the two bedrooms?"

 

 

Tama: "I don't get it. Why would people take Len's pants? He's just little and everyone knows what his pants look like. But they keep taking them. I want pants like Len has. I bet he has stayed in hotels before. Rock stars do that kind of thing. We get to be kinda like Len." *giggles*

I really love that last shot of Tamayuki by the window. He is just too adorable for words. Poor Yuriko though, she seems to be really unhappy about the lack of 'goodies' in the fridge. (I can't imagine what Dakota would have said about that had she been there.) As for Miku, I'm sure the poor gal is used to 5 star amenities so the hotel might not have had all she was looking for. Love reading about your kids!

Yuriko didn't have to suffer for long. She dove into the box of cereal that Raven bought for the mini Star Wars posters. I should count myself lucky that Dakota didn't tag along (she nearly did) with the lack of alcohol. Although I might have dealt with the weekend better if I had something to drink... I was glad to see family, but there was hardly any down time for 4 1/2 days except when I was so tired that I practically passed out. Even with her less than flattering rating, Miku seemed to enjoy herself well enough. Tama did not mind the extra snuggle time for nearly 6 hours as we traveled. I had been hoping for some free time to work on my DD writing but I just didn't have a chance. I should be able to work on it more this week.

Oh my gosh, when Miku opens the door and says "Amenities!" I just about died of laughter! Cute photostory!

Thank you! Miku and I have come a long way... She belongs to my husband and before there was the DD version, Naiomi (one of my DD) and I only wanted a Miku figurine to watch it melt in the oven... She's my husband's favorite Vocaloid after Luka, but I personally have trouble with the 'super diva' type personalities because it reminds me too much of the super popular girls in school that were always vicious towards me. Let's just say I wasn't popular and I learned to hate girls like that. Luckily for the sanity of our household my husband let me choose what her off-stage personality would be, so she became a geek. Now much of the time I find her pretty darn funny and it still startles me how often she just speaks up and just says what I'm thinking. We have a lot of DD and I write all the stories, but often their views of the world are not mine, or if they are similar it is filtered through their personality & views on life.

 

(So sorry for the long ramble... I'm completely exhausted. I had point to this but now I no longer remember what it was.)
