Volks USA at Anime Expo 2015

On the Volks USA Facebook page they announced a special treat for those attending Anime Expo 2015 this year Volks USA will be vending all 4 days at Anime Expo! They also created a new FB page called Volks USA - Hobby to make updates on what they'll be bringing for the event~

From 7/2 ~ 7/5, VOLKS USA will be at the Los Angeles Convention Center to exhibit in the United State’s greatest Japanese Animation convention Anime Expo!!! VOLKS, Inc. previously has participated in events in Thailand and Singapore but finally this will be our first time to exhibit in United States.

 

VOLKS USA, Inc. is planning to release new products during this event, so please expect some great things! From now on, news and information on products will be posted on VOLKS USA Hobby Facebook Page.

DD wise I have a feeling the dolls they bring may be very similar to the line-up of dolls they took to the AFA Singapore Expo where they brought Yuuki Asuna, Saber Alter V.2, Saber Nero, Hatsune Miku, Ushiromiya Maria, M.O.M.O., KOS-MOS, Kujikawa Rise, & both versions of Shining Blade's Sakuya. Though that's just my speculation! They may change up the line-up of dolls they bring, how many, and so on~

 

Looking forward to seeing what DDs/MDDs they pick for the event along with any clothes & accessories for them as well. This would be a good chance to bring their standard models as well since those new to the hobby may want a doll at a lower price point if they have the money to spend~ My wallet is afraid of what things they may bring that I may really really want

 

On an Off-Topic hope I want them to bring Love Live figures hehe

 

So are any of you on the forums attending AX? I'll be going for all 4 days so I'm looking forward to another July 4th weekend of geeking out, shopping, and meeting up with DD people if possible

Darn! I wanna go, literally every time I try to plan for this event whoever I plan it with cancels on me. This year I don't even have someone to try to go with.

 

I guess I'll just stare at it longingly (once again). I've lived in CA my entire life. One would think I could have managed to go to AE by now. oTL;

 

I'm curious who they'll have. I would have loved a chance to pick up someone.

I usually never take any pictures when I'm at cons, but I'll be sure to take pictures of their booth for those unable to attend. Really hoping to hear some DD related news on their FB page soon

For those of you who attend could you take pictures pretty please? I'm unable to go, but I would still love to see what it's about. I hope I can go to something in the future. Are the prices for clothes, wigs, limited stuff etc really expensive at these expos or is it reasonable?

I have a suspicion that they'll plan something for the beginners, all the way to the hard core collectors. Mainly because of Danny Choo's Smart Doll being a huge hit last year, and those dolls cost as much as the Volks standard models (hell, even I was tempted to get one, but I knew my first doll would be a Yukino... ). Yes, it would be awesome to get a Saber version, but with Mirai Smart Doll going for under $500 (with a outfit included) and readily available, there's a chance that Volks will be left in the wind.

 

So it's in their best interest to have a good handful of their standard models and outfits/parts ready to sell on the spot..... that or else they better have one hell of a presentation.

 

Either way I was planning to bringing my "Amora" (Yukino 2nd ver.) anyways... this just adds to the excitement...

Not surprising that the 1st Dollfie Dream they have announced for AX is Original Hatsune Miku So for anyone attending and missed out on her pre-order there will be another chance~

I don't blame you because Maria is just adorable! MDDs seem not to move as quickly as DDs (at least it seems that way to me) so if they do bring her and you can't get Thursday off perhaps you'll still have a good chance for her

Poo~ At least you have your friend for the LA Dolpa though! Since Volks has never been able to sell any of the Idolm@ster girls and their outfits in the US I think I can safely say none of them will show up at AX. Which is too bad because they would be pretty popular~ As for Melty I suppose that could be a possibility

I usually never take pictures at cons anymore since I'm more about enjoying the experience, but I'll try to take pictures of their booth since I'll have one of my girls with me. It would be good for them to bring a couple of standard girls for those who are new, want a DD, but want to spend a little less than they would on a LE DD. I really look forward to seeing their booth set-up and you know that their booth will be the very first that I run over to haha

 

Danny has a very large following and his presence at AX increases every year. He started out as a normal guest with a panel + gathering outside the con. Then he became a guest Master of Ceremonies along with a panel + gathering. But it now seems that he is the official MC (since he continues to do it every year), Mirai is on the guidebook, 2 panels last year, his merchandise booth inside the entrance of the convention center, and any gatherings he may have. And because of this so many people at AX know Danny very well and are very inclined to buy the merchandise he offers. I won't be surprised that even if Danny brings more Smart Dolls than he did last year (since he didn't bring very many) that they will sell out quickly because fans know & trust him. Side note: Hoping to see Smart Doll Guy there

 

Since this will be Volks USA's very first time at AX they will not have that same recognition that Danny Choo has. So like you said that if they want to compete with Danny's Smart Doll (if they care) they will definitely have to bring their "A" game to really touch base with newcomers and bring some really awesome stuff for return customers as well I will giggle if anyone that goes to their booth calls Dollfie Dreams "Smart Dolls" since that has been happening at the con ever since Smart Doll started being sold

I spent nearly all my vacation time & alot of money on a recent Japan/Thailand trip & on Anime Central near Chicago so I wish they would announce what they'll bring sooner then later so I can see if can fit AX in somehow. Because if they bring Miki Hoshii I will definitely want to go.

Miki falls under the area as all do the Idol master girls which is that they aren't sold outside of Japan.

 

Similar to the Touhou girls they do not allow them to be exported. So, no worries, they won't have Miki unless their terms magically have changed.

Updated the top post again Volks announced that since they will have Dollfie Dream Hatsune Miku for sale that they will bring her two previously released outfit sets. For those who missed out on getting the "Senbonzakura" and "Do-Re-Me-Fa Rondo" Outfit Sets you have another chance at them

 

At the BJD cons they attended they brought care items and a few doll carriers so I figure they will do the same for AX.

They are bringing Candy and Mirai ~Memorial Versions~. So nothin' special, but nice standard option for those newer to the hobby and not compelled by Miku.

Well I meant more in the sense that it isn't a very hard to get LE doll. I think it is good they have SOME variety.

 

I'd be upset if I went to AX and they only had Miku. Cause either you have her, or you simply don't adore her which is within reason. :P
