Masque Posted May 20, 2015 I am still new to the hobby and am unsure where to buy a set of pajamas for my Miku. Kinda want something she can lounge around in, while saving her good clothes for special occasions. Volks has some nice clothes on their site, but its not what I'm looking for. Also, I hear horror stories about certain clothing staining their skin. What should I be on the lookout for when purchasing clothes?
foo Posted May 20, 2015 I am still new to the hobby and am unsure where to buy a set of pajamas for my Miku. Kinda want something she can lounge around in, while saving her good clothes for special occasions. I'll throw my 2¢ in. Volks has two pajama sets for Natsuki, the summer one, DSC_5376 by bodolza, on Flickr and the, uh, non-summer one, Night Cat by bodolza, on Flickr (nekomimi not included) Both are great, the summer one is hard to get and very expensive though. IMO it's worth it, it's one of my favourites ^^ The different parts are very usable outside of the set. The shirt and shimapan can stain lightly a bit after washing once and wearing for several weeks (I've washed at least one more time since and haven't had an issue). The winter one is much cheaper to get on the aftermarket, probably because it's so black and looks like a stain monster. It's actually perfectly safe, the insides are all lined with a grey satin fabric and doesn't stain, and I didn't even wash it. I haven't used it as much but I do like it a lot. Also, I hear horror stories about certain clothing staining their skin. What should I be on the lookout for when purchasing clothes? Well, do read the Dollfie Dream Stain Prevention & Removal FAQ. Also, probably the most useful thing is to look in the Outfits that Stain for anything you're thinking of buying. There's a 'search this topic' text field near the top that you can use. As for what to look out for staining, it's kind of hard to say, especially before you buy it. Especially Volks clothes, some stuff just doesn't stain at all, some stuff is carefully lined with white fabric (typically dark DD/Tenshi-no-Koromo clothes), and some stuff are stain monsters (even Tenshi-no-Koromo), but just looking at the product images you can't say for sure. When you actually get something you can kind of tell if it's going to stain badly. Some fabrics look very rich in colour; they're probably soaked with dye and you wouldn't want it to touch DD vinyl. Some fabrics, like these stockings by Volks, Glee by bodolza, on Flickr I don't know what they're made of, but I think they're polyester or nylon, and don't stain. Also, stains aren't that big a deal, you get used to it The name 'stain' implies that it doesn't go away, but just a bit of time with 10% benzoyl peroxide and a heat lamp or Volks' Dollfie Dream Rescue Cream will make it go away. Really strong stains can take a while though, so it's important to spot-check your doll once in a while to see if any stains have built up (。-_-。)
