Custom fibre wigs.(Update idea help. First page. 31/7/15)

Great thanks for the info! You'll be the first in my mind to contact when I need that special wig done.

So my hair is here! I cant wait to start El's wig probably start that tomorrow

pros and cons are mostly on stating the wig. I would need to wait for the hair to be ordered and shipped so this would add to the wigs time to wait unless I ordered in a stock and worked off that but that would mean when I was out of hair I would need to order in some more later.

If I ordered in bulk and got a customs charge I would have to add this to the amount I sell a wig for to get back any money spent BUT if I ordered in separate lots then the chance of getting a charge is very low ( being one wig would be two+ wefts depending on job and that would be a very low price so it would make it threw customs (as mine did and this was 4 wefts and a wigcap.)

 

 

let me know what you think wile I work out pricing and make El's wig.

indeed that is a good idea.

 

I have made this to show my work on pricing and what it will be like if I order per commission.

 

I think I will work out a new price sheet taking the lengths of the weft into account rather then a base of short medium and long since they have a mix of lengths and colours.

 

Also this is based on me selling in £ so the price can go up and done on the weft and shipping so I am not always guaranteed the price will be the same.

 

the profit is important for me since I will be making the wig by hand to the commissioners order so a good few days will be taken to making the wig (Error's fist wig took 3 days and that was me working form about 9am-10pm/11pm ish pretty much non stop other then food an so on)

So its been a few days and I really am sad that I bought the wrong blue for El's wig =<. I tried to say it will be ok but after finishing the orange part I pined some of the blue on the head and its just not right. I will need to save again to get the new blue so I have a dark blue hair for custom sale atm in the market if you would like it then please take a look at my sale post then PM me.

so the other day will I was floating about on face book I managed to grab and buy a small lot of hair second hand so I will have a small amount of stock but will work off commission too =D. the hair looks to be the same shop I plan on buying from too so I can get more of it if needed.

yeah they are the " Cute" colours so the DD girls are covered for a base amount. there all about 2 amounts so I should be able to make a wig our of most colours but if needed I can order one new form the shop later if needed.

So I got the hair I bought and tis soo nice =o= the packets that were open I have handled and its so soft.

 

my next plan of action is making the Icon/banners for the shop so it looks nice to post. I will also look at getting some business cards and maybe a label to be put in the wig cap to show its my work but I will be looking about for these thing later.

 

if anyone has any tips or tricks with making a banner/icon for shops let me know =)

yeah they are a delightful starter pack for the shop. I can still oder in more too so when its needed I can but for now I will finish some of the details for the shop like banner and packing then move on to other things.

I have got a little stock in now so I am going into the shop part of this now. I am looking for.

 

Shop name? I am not really sure what I should call the shop =?

 

Banners/icon/theme> I have a small wip for a banner and icon but think I may get the icon commissioned so ideas on something that would sum up my shop would be lovely.

 

Work amount? I don't want to over do the amount I take in at one go so I my work on slots per month not sure. I will work on my own so I was thinking three per slot amount BUT if I complete the three then I could open one or two if requested.

 

ALL the writing XD I will need to write all the terms and conditions and so on so I will be working on that.

Hmm. For the shop name, are you attached to your username (Error-Chan) or some other name you could use to identify who's shop it is? It seems formulaic to say "[username]'s [Descriptive/Catchy Title]" (mediocre examples but you get the idea: "Error-Chan's Custom Fiber Wig Boutique" or "Custom Fiber Wigs by Error-Chan") but it might be a good idea because it associates a name to the shop so that people can say "[username] did my wig!". I'm just throwing out ideas.

 

For the icon, I'm not up on the terminology: What is the difference between an icon and a banner in this context? Also, do you draw and/or do word art?

 

Random thought: in your actual shop you might want to put keywords: "fibre" and "fiber" so it shows up on searches for those who spell it either way.

thank you for the suggestions.

 

1) I use the name Samby ( my real name is Samantha) so I may incorporate that so using facebook/off forum sales are easier. I do really like the "Custom Fiber Wig Boutique" the end part makes me think of them sitting in the chair asking what the want ^o^

 

2) Banners are like the footer and header to the page so something with the name on that fits at the top of the page

Icon would me the business ID image so one small image that o could put on cards or stickers for the item to have with it.

 

I do draw my self so that should be ok but I don't feel my level of ability will be professional enough.

 

3) yes I do plan to have a post with a bunch of key words and probably will use the smallest font so its not big and in the way. ( and I do spell it fibre and fiber all the time XD so it probably would slip in at some point on the post haha

So I have finished El's wig but am just waiting for my sister to come over to help with the last little thing.

 

he needs to have it straitened in spots where I had clips holding it down its got bumps and some styling for the hair is needed too

So just updating this for everyone.

 

I have been ill with my CF along with my mental health but am am starting to feel better now thankfully. I have a bunch of hair atm (one imaged before.) I will be posting on my shop sales thread that I have a limited stock in hair and I will be making to sell using this hair. What I get from this I will be putting state back into the shop since the money family said would pay to help has all dried up =/ so I am fully alone on this now haha.

 

I have a chance to buy some colour wheels of the hair available and it means I can get custom made hair out of the colours if needed too. The wheels will be $155 all together so this will be a thing to get after the shop is fully open and I can save for that. ( I did think about making a fund me thing but I don't think it would work and have no idea on how they work ether XD so I will just try to budget what I can)

 

and lastly it has been so hard to get hold of my sister since her boss has operand a new hair salon in another town so shes been to busy to even come up and say high XD. so El's wig is waiting to be worked on so no new images of him yet.

I'm happy for you that you are feeling better. I don't have CF but I completely sympathize with mental health issues because they have taken me out of commission for periods of time. Sorry things have been so difficult trying to get this started up, but you can make it work out ^^ I've never been a fan of the saying "things will work themselves out" because that takes power away from the person you're trying to encourage -- and really, the power is yours and if you need help that's ok, but things are going to get done because you are the one that makes it happen.
