Coconut Posted May 28, 2015 Hello, I am super new to BJD's and Dollfie Dream, so new in fact, I don't even have a doll yet . I have been interested in BJD's for awhile, and learned about them though the Lolita community. I was initially interested in Pulip dolls, because of the collaboration they did with the Lolita fashion brand Angelic pretty, but I was not a huge fan of their face sculpts and decided against buying one. After researching BJD's more I stumbled upon a picture set of a MDD on the internet and was in awe, of its cuteness, and determined to learn more. After reading a bunch of forum posts and articles, as well as watching some youtube videos, I decided to start saving up to get my own MDD. I found this forum awhile ago, and it seems like a great community, but I did not register, until now, because I am a bit shy. I am glad to be on the forum now though, and cant wait to get to know everyone and post awesome pictures of my Dollfie one day! Thank you for reading my post and I hope you have a great day. Merri, A Mai Shiranui custom on a DDdy. And, finally, Yukiko, an original Volks face-up, on an Obitsu 40cm body.(close to an MDD, I guess!) There's plenty of options! Have fun! Coconut Posted May 30, 2015 Wow all your MDD's look so adorable! It seems like the SQ-Labs heads are quite popular, and for good reason! I am actually, very seriously considering a SQ-Labs head, like the 'Moe' or 'Ren' model their faces are quite expressive and cute. I have to say that is very awesome custom Chen MDD, I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the image, she is one of my favorite Touhous!! I am finding there is allot of work in finding the perfect head, and body, then finding a local face-up artist., but it seems defiantly worth the effort and quite the fun process. I have recently found a seller of SQ-Labs heads, and if all goes well should have my first floating head by next month or so! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Though getting a blank one and doing its faceup yourself (or commissioning as I did) lets you create a more unique girl. Plenty of artists here, and elsewhere that do faceups. Coconut Posted May 30, 2015 I just looked over some of the listings on YJA, $200 seems like a amazing price for a head, faceup and eyes! I am tempted to make a little vampire with the double fang smile one. Plus then I could do some great gothic lolita inspired coordinates for her.
