Late Intro from the UK

Greetings fellow members!

I've been on this forum for quite a few months now and just realized I never properly introduced myself. I just got too excited with my new DD and wanting to chat with you all that I didn't even think about saying stuff about myself. Oh well, here I am rectifying that.

I'm originally from Utah, USA but have since moved to the UK about 5 years ago. The people here are great fun to work with and have a good laugh, but the constant gloomy rainy days wreak havoc on my seasonal depression so I hope to move back to the USA soon. Other than the horrible weather, I have a nice life chasing after my toddler and convincing my hubby I don't have enough doll stuff.

I had no clue these types of dolls existed until this year! Being a ginormous anime fan in the 90's (and still am but behind the times w/ the latest stuff coming out) I tried collecting any and all anime/manga the USA media market would allow. Believe it or not, a full set of VHS Bubblegum Crisis was well over $150! Curse you Media Play! *shakes fist at dead business name*

Apparently my head must've been under a massive rock the past decade to have never seen or heard of anime resin/vinyl BJD's before. Of course I know of the figurines (I own Rei Ayanami and Asuka Langely Soryu Fraulein Revoltechs), but to have a large fully customizable doll?? It was like the heavens opened up and shown a beautiful light on my laptop when I made the discovery and thus started the spiraling death of my bank account.

Finding this forum was the icing on the cake and the members I've chatted with have been extremely helpful and friendly. I hope to meet up with other UK bjd owners soon.

I don't know if you're busy but we're trying to plan something for June 27 - there's a UK meetup thread. A bunch of people from all over are planning a getogther - maybe in London? Venue to be decide anyhow.

I've just posted on the UK meetup thread that I can attend if there's a set time and place confirmed soon. This may sound silly, but I'm really nervous taking a train all the way to London because after I get off my stop I'll be totally lost. LOL

I thought the weather had been quite hot lately

The weather hasn't been too bad the past few days, but I'm used to a desert climate so I guess my perspective on things would be different than a native born British person.
