Magpie (still very much WIP)

I've been having a bit of trouble trying to pin down a character as I have so many, but I think I've found a way to incorporate all my favourite ideas into one

 

Her nickname is Magpie as she loves to collect shiny things, in many ways she's a normal school girl, but she is a witch, she doesn't practice magic very often except in her bakery where she incorporates her magic into her cooking eg a cake that once eaten would make you feel good if you've had a bad day that kind of things (I got my inspiration mostly from the Wizard guidebook in Ni No Kuni so I could end up incorporating more aspects of that).

 

I'm still unsure whether she'd be in the real world or a fantasy realm (though having an anime styled doll my anime itch feels it has to be scratched and she'd have to wear Japanese fashion/uniform, but I don't want to risk being to cliche ^^; ). At the moment I'm drawn to the idea of Mori, but I also feel I need a girl to wear all the cute frilly pastel stuff I don't feel comfortable wearing.

 

I love bouncing ideas off of people so feel free to add any input.

 

Annoyingly I don't often feel comfortable taking pictures of my dolls if they aren't 100% perfect, but I'm hoping I'll be able to take some more soon.

Why does it have to be a regular uniform? It could be a fantasy Witch Academy one. Compose one yourself with the different patterns you want and such, and for the school emblem, buy a star broche or pin and put it on her jacket or school sweater or whatever you have in mind. Additional accessories would be a broom, an apron, a chef hat and some small random chocolate box you can get at a store anytime and just cover with gift wrap. And to fix everything back to her back story, she could be very lazy at practicing.

Just my idea.

Thank you so much for your input I love seeing DD girls in the sailor fukus so I think I was just torn between that and making up my own. I'll defo take a look at those I've been trying to find some magical/school anime to try and give me inspiration, but there's so much and I didn't really know where to look. I'm going to try and find my Ni No Kuni book from the SE and give it another read too

 

I definitely intend to give her some kind of poofy cafe waitress outfit something similar to this (there are probably better examples but this was the only anime I've seen that I could think of).

Are you looking to make this a more classic/generic shoujou style or something more refined and elegant?

Well I wanted to look in the interwebz for maid outfits and they were all bloody expensive. Not to mention they mostly had black/dark colors so they would stain the crap out of the body. It sadly seems custom is the way to go.

Shojo that was the word I was trying to think of (been so long since I watched anime regularly) I don't mind having a crack at making things. She's a DDdy Mai Shiranui with a DD2 L bust anyway so I bet finding clothes won't be easy.

Wow seems that Mai is pretty rare as a DD. Not many people own her. You have any tissue ideas in mind? And will you keep ver default faceup?

Well she was 2nd hand from a friend so I assume she still has her default make up. I see no reason to change it as I could never recreate the look anywhere near as good. I think the only thing I may want add is some lip colour just to define it a bit more. I'm not exactly sure how intact it's stayed

 

I was a little unsure at first as all the company pics made her look a bit frowny, but hooray for owner pics, I think she has quite a versatile face

 

 

This is the only pic I've taken so far I think I'm still going to keep this wig though it really suits her, it's what made me think Mori might be the way to go with the dusky pink colour and tempted to see how she'd look with green eyes.

Mori? Oh nice choice. But that kinda complicates things in some ways... You cab expect knitting and floral patterns... The organic tones will look good with her hair, which would BTW look good curled. As for ger eye color, some brown green eyes would look mighty good! But that's very hard to fins in animetic eyes I think... So it's better to stick with green.

EDIT

And some lip color/shine would make her look a lot better, as the sides of her mouth make get look kinda grumpy... Not like someone looking to make people happy imo.
