Stolen/missing DDs

I saw this pop up on one of the bjd groups on facebook and since it pertains to DD, I thought it should be shared here. Please note I'm just signal-boosting this as it's DD related and I would be absolutely crushed if this happened to me, I'm in no way involved so please do not contact me ^^; .

 

Two custom dollfie dreams went missing in the Sacramento California area, please be on the look out for these two dolls popping up for sale on eBay etc.

The only point of contact I have is malik.ishtal@gmail.com aka. Kiki Kawaii/Harinezumiko who is friends/local with the owner. Please contact if you see either of these two dolls. The owner has supposedly asked not to be contacted directly right now as they are very upset.

Yeah they are pretty recognizable, those are 2 girls of UsagiTeatime That's really unfortunate!!

That sucks, I hope they're returned safely one day. :c

 

I know it's weird but maybe check pawn shops in the surrounding areas too, maybe they'll turn up.

They should put a poster out saying there will be a reword out for the undamaged return. Make it out that they only have sent-elemental valu. If they get given to the local police then a reword will be given. They don't really need to give a reword out since the person who stole them probably will be the one givin them in but it might grab there attention to return them.

It might be good to post this on the missing/stolen dolls thread on DoA too.

I suggested that this be posted up on DoA as well to her friends that had posted on the facebook group as I know at least one of them are members there, I believe DoA prefers someone directly involved with the situation to post though so I'm kind of hesitant to post myself especially since I have no real connection to this at all I just happened to see it on facebook and it was like why hasn't anyone posted this here yet ^^;

Such a sin, I would hate to have any of my girls stolen I can't imagine. I really hope they find their way home.

This is just awful theft of any kind is unforgivable but t steal something like this, that we pour our hearts and souls into just makes it even worse. Do we know how they were stolen? I've heard if doll thefts at meetups and conventions before which is scary because in that case the perpetrator kniws thier value, both monetary and sentimentally.

 

I really hope they get thier dolls back. I'll keep my eyes peeled when I do my eBay searched and the like.

This is what I was afraid of...

It's more scary thinking about people who know this hobby well stealing dolls rather than people who understand value less.

seeing this makes me sick to my stomach thinking about any of my girls coming up missing. i dont even know what id do, i can only imagine what theyre going thru right now. my heart goes out to them and i hope theres a speedy return for the girls.

It certainly appears to be. The faceup looks right, plus that same pink wig and eyes? The only difference is it looks like they put her on a dynamite body because yeah, that's what someone would recognize about a doll with a custom faceup.

 

At least when people who do this kind of thing are being dumb they're easier to catch.

I've actually seen this listing on Etsy for a long time now even before that particular Airy went missing. Not many results come up when you're seaching "Dollfie Dream" which is why I remember it.

 

*Note: Also managed to find that the outfit being worn was made almost a whole year ago.

Huh. That's odd. In that case it would have had to be by someone who knows the owner or in fact was the owner since it's almost definitely the same doll. I wondered about this but since etsy doesn't display dates on their site I figured I would run it by the person who made the tumblr post since they would probably know. Sorry.

Probably so I just edited my post saying I found through IG that the outfit being worn was made almost a whole year ago. It's good to keep an eye out so don't be sorry

I would hope so too, but it's been a few months since they went missing, and what I just found was a bust so unfortunately they may not ever be found at this point.

yea thats the thing about trying to find some of these girls is so many of them look so similar it can be crazy sometimes.

 

top it off even if they didnt know what it was worth they probably found a place that bought them like a pawn shop or they just dumped them off in a dumpster somewhere is there any news from the victim at all?

I know this thread is old as death itself, but I wasn't made aware of it!!!! 

 

THATS MY DOLL, and I recognize the patio chair and the porch, but not that outfit!!!!! I'm so sorry this thread is so dead and I never saw it, but where was this photo found????

Years ago, as I was leaving my ex-spouse, my two girls were stolen from me. My spouse had "put them in a cardboard box, on the sidewalk, with the rest of my stuff."
I went to every house in the neighborhood, sobbing, begging every person who opened their door to please tell me if they had them or saw anyone with them, but I didn't get any responses from that, I was visibly distraught so I'm sure that didn't help. I had ended up assuming that some kids probably took them from the box and they were history.
They were custom Dollfie Dream Airy (DD2body, M bust) and Nanoha (DDdy body), painted by Subaru.

I have a theory based on this photo!! My ex kept/has them! Swapped their bodies, and kept them hidden! I know they now own other DDs, so this wouldn't shock me in the slightest.

Does anyone know if there are any more photos? any contacts anywhere? My heart is pounding.

(Within the last few years, I purchased a new Airy from a lovely collector on FB, but I am still upset, I ended up leaving the hobby for a long while after this incident, the trauma was really hard to overcome, its wild that I may have some kind of closure with all of this. Even if I don't get them back, just KNOWING will be enough for me at this point.)
