New DDs (Kirika,Alisa, and Mariko)

My Mariko has arrived in Los Angeles and is "Inbound into customs" kyaaa I'm so excited that she is almost home! Would really love if she arrived by Saturday, but that all depends on if customs decides to hold onto her for a bit. Either way I'm happy the wait is almost over

likewise here, Mariko has landed Malaysia and under custom inspection.

Nice to see so many dolls reaching peoples home countries. My Kirika has made it into the UK as well. There's no hope in hell of her passing through customs quick enough to see her this week knowing what Parcelforce is like but I should see her next week.

My Kirika is still enroute to NL, I'm totally not impatient lol

Oh well, bad news happened, she is hold by customs. My friend will help me to retrieve her tomorrow.

Exactly the same for me with Kirika. I am hoping they release it through customs today and it gets on the plane by tonight. Then i'd have her Sat. Her one piece torso is sitting here waiting.

 

*update* Kirika has left Customs. Whoohoo!

I was super lucky to get Kirika off a friend that lives in the UK. She arrived in the UK today and is now on the final leg of the journey to Ireland. Somehow I managed to avoid customs too!!

Of course customs is closed during the weekend, gosh

Kirika just arrived. I hope everyone else gets their packages without too much hassle.

 

*edit* notes on kirika:

her resin ears are not pierced. The resin is softer then I would have guessed.

her costume fits a large bust and in my opinion looks better (have her in Alisa's bust, wish i hadnt bought the medium one piece)

her eyes are almost green

the butterfly hair ornament breaks very easily. mine did trying to get it on.

I had been stalking tracking for two bjds which I have been waiting for since like December that were set to arrive here today, much to my surprise the mailman had a third package with Volks printed the side! Kirika is home and I'm currently in dolly overload mode at the moment

My Mariko has arrived home with me, did some photoshoot for my blogs and unboxing video.

I had a huge run around picking Kirika and Alisa up today. When Kirika's tracking went directly from "arrived at the post office" to attempted delivery and there was no slip I headed over because they'd started the countdown to return to sender (the 17th). It ended up that Alisa had just arrived but that Kirika was on the truck. So I was able to send Alisa on right away at least and scheduled Kirika to be redelivered today. I got to be horribly soaked doing this.

 

If anyone was wondering, I'm really sure the ears won't fit any current DD's. The others I have are all too large and flat against the head to work. I'm also wondering how much and how fast the ears will yellow compared to regular resin. Her eye color was surprising to me too, I wasn't expecting the green.

My Mariko finally arrived in Finland yesterday so I paid her ransom (145 euros, ouch @__@ - lately I've only had to pay much smaller fees fees for neemos so that really stung) and can only hope they'd forward her on Monday... but we'll see. They've been really slow lately, so I might not get her home before Wednesday or Thursday. -.-;; I'm so anxious to see her!! ;A;

Me either. If you tilt her head up, the top of her eyes by her lid is a pink color too. found that interesting.

My Kirika is out of customs and should be at the local depot for pickup tomorrow. My import fees are £120

Just got her today ^^

 

The ears are not a good fit for a regular DD, it only fits to a certain degree so you may have to put some sticky tac if you want it to stay.

Man... I'm getting crazy customs got her on hold for some reason, they are insane slow this time... And can't do anything about it

For once the postal service surprised me positively and I received Mariko already today! *A*

I took a quick photo of her in her default look ( why is her wig such a pain? ugh, it already stained her while I was struggling to put it on with one of those protective fabric caps that Volks sells ;__; ). Now I need to hurry and repaint her because it seems like this will be the last sunny day in a while, so who knows when I'll have the next chance for that, ahah... xD; I'll be posting her box opening later today in my blog~

I picked up Kirika from the post depot today, I’m at work so I haven’t been able to crack her open and check things properly yet cut I wanted to check if everything is there. It all looks like it’s there but I’m a bit concerned about her wig, in the packet it looks like it’s very thin on hairs covering the wig cap, I can see a lot more of the cap than I would like.

 

 

I had Sakuya before who has a very similar styled wig but hers wasn’t thin and patchy like this, has anyone else had issues with Kirika's wig? I’m wondering if it might be worth emailing Volks about it.

I got my Kirika today as well. As far as the wig is concerned, I guess mine looks roughly about the same, but I have to say that the wigcap showing is the least of it's problems. I can honestly say it's the crappiest wig I have ever owned (right down to the horrible fiber). Needless to say I chucked it as soon as I was done with the obligatory default-gear photos.

Mizya your Mariko is adorable! Can't wait to see the custom version. Too bad Volks didn't improve her wig, I had same issues with the student version and eventually sold it.

 

Yenna I would love to see her blank photos, and her new faceup when it's ready ^_^

The face up is already done as well, but I don't have nice photos of it yet. Maybe tomorrow...

 

The eyes are indeed really nice. I never noticed before I took them out that they have a bit of purple at the top in addition to the blue and turquoise. They're just a bit too blank for my tastes (I want proper black pupils) so they'll have to change eventually.
