Volks USA HTD Kyoto Lottery

Well, after three Saturday afternoons spent trying to place my order, I'm happy to have managed to put my name in a hat for this item lottery.

 

I was lucky the first weekend. I managed to get an order in for the shoes which go with the Sophisticated Teacher Set. I was also trying for the boots that go with the Lady Wizard Set, but as I was checking out I got a message saying they were out of stock. I wish those boots were part of the lottery, but either they are really sold out or will be listed on the 13th.

 

For the lottery, I'm shooting for the Lady Wizard Set, Sophisticated Teacher Set, and Lady Archer Set. I don't expect to win the drawing on any. I never win drawings. But I'm willing to give it a shot. If I win all of them, then I'll probably have to give my credit card a breather for a while.

 

The Sophisticated Teacher Set won't fit Amber, but if I get the chance to buy it, at least I'll have it for when I get a Dy body or possibly convert Amber to one piecemeal.

 

I just kind of tossed the Lady Archer set on there for the heck of it. Maybe if I don't win the other two, then I'll be able to get that one. It looks pretty nice.

 

The Lady Wizard Set is what I really want, and I figure I have the absolute least chance of getting. But let's roll the dice and see.

I wasted 3 Saturdays on their crashed website and emailed them 3 times. And they still do NOT have the Classroom Set up for order/lottery. I am not happy with their poor handling of this whole event.

Hmm the order I got in on the first week of the click war seems to have disappeared from my "orders" list, as has all my older order history on my account. I hope Volks is going to ship out those orders today as they claim on their facebook page.

Geeez - the desk nor the shoes were included in this round.. I am hoping that they're just breaking up the items into different lottery rounds b/c the shoes was what I really wanted to go with one of these sets.

 

Good luck to everyone though, I really wanted the Lady Wizard set, but put in for Wizard and Archer sets just b/c you never know how things work out in a lottery...

 

Finally though, this release can have a definitive ending!

Yup, it's a shame they don't last forever like the Volks Int ones. Or maybe not, it's depressing to see all the lost lottery entries T_T

Assuming youve emailed them? Bc considering how wacko things have been... I wonder if they fulfilled any orders that happened to come thru during all the previous release-attempt weekends or canceled them the moment they decided to do the lottery?

I figured it out. The HTD lottery page actually has a different log in than the normal store page. It shows a different order history. The HTD lottery log in requires a alphanumeric anti-bot code to be entered, where as the regular store log in does not.

I figured that out when i couldn't find my wish list anymore. Was confused. I wanted the brown boots but they aren't part of the lottery. I bet they sold out in orders of the people who got it to work. 3 Sats wasted. Grrr

I'm guessing their lottery results won't be announced until maybe 9/10pm EST like their previous lotteries? Unless someone else has received an updated status yet - mine still shows 'lottery entry'

I entered for the SD sized bloomers and I got a winning notice two days ago, so I'd expect they'd all have gone out by now. They may do a second round if people haven't paid by deadline of the 13th.

Edit: I asked Volks about it and they said:

There are times where other lottery winners might cancel their items, so we will put those up in our store after 7/13 11AM.

Ehhhhhh considering the sets - no one is gonna cancel their orders on the sets I went for lol. ESP since this hobby is used to being permabanned with Volks for not following thru with their orders - most will probably go thru with the order regardless.

 

Least we tried?

 

(Now I really wonder about the next dollpa release with the even more popular sets...)

This is the same here, recieved notice on the bloomers as well. At least it gave me an excuse to purchase a few supplies that I had wanted, but kept putting off.

Well, that's a bummer for me. My streak of never winning a drawing in my life continues. On the plus side, paying off my credit card balance just got easier!

 

But gratz to everyone who did pull the lucky straw.
