I'm from New Jersey, USA and I'm waiting for my first DD (hatsune Miku) who will be turned into a DD boy =p My plan is to sand down the chest and hips so he can look more boyish but I'm a little bit afraid since this will be my first DD and I don't want to ruin it ;_;

I'm happy to be part of this forum, I hope I can make many friends and learn a lot about DDs.

Hi!

Welcome to the community!

DD hips are very very large respect the waist, hips are like 23-24 cm and the waist is 14 and around tights reaches 27-28 cm of cirbleepference so i'm afraid you'll never really achieve a boyish look in that area even sanding , also consider that DD parts are hollow inside to make room for the internal frame , in the hip area just under the "surface" there's the internal skeleton so i fear you can't really sand that much down (you can check here the aspect of internal frame of all the bodies and relative measurements http://www.dollfiedreams.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=44) .

This is how supposely will look your miku body (this is a SS uni torso body, but apart the fact that's a one piece torso is equal to miku ) naked http://www.jadepixeldoll.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/hatomugigenmaisougenpichaumai-img600x450-1375970186phmm5g45667.jpg the hips and tights are very prominent, many user on this forum have created male characters based on DD heads using male obitsu bodies (and there will be soon the option of smart boy body) , they are a good source of infos about how to go in this matter, so i think obitsu or resin bodies is the safest and best way to make a boy character .

Hey there from across the pond and welcome aboard!

When you say sand down the chest, what do you mean? Keep in mind that DDs are hollow so you can't remove the boobs by sanding the chest flat

Thank you!! glad to be part of this community =)

I thought I could sand down the chest like you would with a resin doll but it seems it is not possible I know absolutely nothing about DDs but I will look around and read more about them because I don't want to mess it up. >_<

Wow thanks a lot for the information! this saved me a lot of mistakes and disappointments as I was ready to sand it down as soon as it arrives. I will have to use the body as it is. Good thing he will be a girly boy and I hope to conceal the curves with the male clothes...I hope it works *crosses fingers*

Thank you so much for your help, both of you

Welcome! I know a few NJ natives, have you attend any local meets? And a male Miku sounds adorable. Her bust is super small so he'll look good in loose clothing. Or you could get an alternate body for him. Such as Obitsu or a Smart Doll male *if* Danny releases it in a shade similar to Volks' SW.
