Azone Hybrid 1/3 Mami Tomoe Question

I just received her, and I am wondering if anyone knows how I am supposed to put her boots on?

 

It looks like the instructions indicate you are supposed to remove her feet, but her feet have magnets to hold her in place on the metal stand and the boots don't so I am a bit confused. There doesn't seem to be any way to put them on her with the feet attached unless I am missing something.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately you do need to remove her feet to get the boots on. Sigh. It's annoying and a bad design. So the metal stand she comes with is only useful if you don't use her default outfit. Honestly, I love Mami as a character so much, but I just don't think the Azone doll is that great of quality. I don't regret the purchase so much as wish that the design was a little different.

I'm also trying to find another wig for her that would be the right colour and size since her's seems like it won't stay nice for all that long.

Overall I'm quite happy with her, but the overall quality certainly is lower than Volks Dollfie. The converse is she was much less expensive. I'd love to see Volks do the PMM cast, but my wallet would scream in pain if they did.

 

Her wig arrived with a small issue, but it's hidden under the feather in her cap so I'm not too worried about it for now. I might look for a custom wig and custom boots at some point. It's also possible a small magnet could be glued into the impression in the boot heel for now. What really bugs me more is the plastic boots instead of boots made with proper materials.

 

Still I love everything else about her, and I will certainly pick up their Kyoko Sakura. Kyoko was my second favorite character after Mami. Her character is very much a shade a grey which makes her more interesting to me than Miki or Madoka.

 

If I were to change anything it would be to have her eyes be acrylic instead of printed decals. Potentially this could be done with custom work by a face up artist if I could find eyes that work with her facial profile.

 

Off topic, but there is a backstory connection between Kyoko and Mami. It's covered on the Drama CDs which you can find with subtitles on YouTube if you haven't heard them already.
