Tora Youkai Posted July 7, 2015 Hello I'm Tora, I currently live in northwestern Colorado. I've been collecting BJD's for a couple years, and before I took the plunge I researched resin dolls for 3 years. Crazy, right? I'd kind of like to do the same with vinyl ones, but perhaps not as long haha. I first discovered Dollfie Dreams when I was at Anime Expo and there was a guy who had one and showed me all about her. He then asked if I'd ever be interested in one and I said if I found a sculpt I liked. Finally I did! I love the Miko and Hatsune Miku sculpts although I can't seem to get those at the moment so for now I will have to keep saving up and either get them second hand or wait for another sculpt I like to come out. More time for research! XD
Minty Posted July 11, 2015 Hello, Tora! Welcome to the forum. Sorry for the late reply! orz It seems many of us here started out with resins before the vinyl began to slowly creep in. My vinyl dolls outnumber the resins now. Volks USA currently has Miku up for sale until July 20th and Miko is a standard model that gets restocked every now and then. With the current exchange rate, it would be cheaper to buy Miko from the Volks International site. Miku tends to pop up often on the second hand market too. I hope you'll be able to welcome home a vinyl girl soon.
N2DollsNow Posted July 19, 2015 Hello Tora, welcome to the forum! Everything I was going to say to encourage you has already been said by Minty - in almost exactly the same way. If you have resins, you are already familiar with the majority of the joys & costs of the hobby...but DD's have a charm all their own. I hope you're able to bring a Miko home soon. Once you have her, you'll probably wonder why you waited as long as you did.
