Cuartos Dolls

So, I was wondering if anyone here had any of the critters from the Russian artist Cuartos Dolls. They've got some pets ranging from ferrets to a giraffe, but they're best known for the Darkhorn dragon.

 

I just got a Darkhorn secondhand myself (not sure when he'll ship, but he is paid for), so I thought I'd see if there were any others around here while I wait--and before I start spamming him.

Never seen them before, but those ferrets are awesome! And the little green dragon is adorable!

And the prices are really nice too!

Have you guys taken a gander at some of the other resin colors? Cuartos does custom mixes, and some are gorgeous, like this one off Instagram:

My Darkhorn is just in white, because that's what I found secondhand, but if I like him I'll be really tempted to get on the list for a custom dark glittery one. ^^;

 

While it'll probably be a bit before I get around to blushing him and putting his wings on, you can bet that there shall be pictures. Oh such pictures shall there be! Agatha is not going to be happy at having another dragon in the house.

It would actually be pretty cool to get that kind of fantasy color~ But yes totally spam photos because I must see this! And well Agatha should should just be glad this dragon will be more manageable in size?

Cuartos dolls are awesome. I originally really wanted the ferrets, but when I found out about her she had just started with the darkhorns and was no longer selling the ferrets. They've just recently come back available.

 

I actually have two darkhorns due to some cirbleepstances. I was originally only planning on getting one dark red metallic, but I had some issues with buying from Cuarto, so I bought a metallic white one second hand instead. Then, a few months later Cuarto contacted me again for an order, so I bought wings for my pearl dragon and a dark blue metallic one as well. But in the end, I think I'm happy with just my winged white one, so the blue one will have to find a new home. Though, I might want that red one some day too. C:

I'm really interested that huge dragon she's making (some photos in her instagram), but it'll be super expensive and very limited. It would be a dream come true for me, but there's no way I'll be able to afford it, unfortunately.

 

On a random note, doesn't Kirika have a pet dragon or something? The little dragons could be nice companions for those who manage to win her from the lottery. xD

Yeah, it's a bit similar here--I was considering getting one direct from Cuartos in a cosmic color, but she's on vacation right now, so I don't know what the current waitlist is. After having just done a month of overtime I wanted more like instant gratification, so when I found the secondhand one in plain white I snapped him up. (Doesn't mean I won't cave for one or two direct later, just that I'll get to handle the white one first.) Sadly the seller is apparently a busy woman, so I haven't gotten shipping notice yet, but it's still probably faster than Cuartos' waitlist. ^^;

 

It's sounding like a LOT of people like the ferrets! Seriously, you guys, if any of you get ferrets, at least one of you needs a magical space ferret. (Metallic red ferret, Yenna? ) I'm just such a sucker for dragons I don't pay them much mind. XD

It was too expensive for me when I was buying a full dragon at the same time. But I do want her to be able to glide through the air better than with the bent wings.

 

I waited a year for Cuarto to contact me when I got on her waitlist. But that was right in the beginning and she had a lot of group orders and the like. I think she gets back to you in like 6 months now, or something.

 

My ferret would be a realistic colour, cause he'd be a pet for one of my characters that actually owns a ferret, so no metallic or glitter critter here.

My Darkhorn is packed in a box! Hasn't been put in the mail yet, so I can't refresh monkey the tracking, but he's on his waaaaay~ So excited; I already decided on his name, and my mom actually had a bunch of 5mm eyes on hand, so I can try quite a few different ones in him when he turns up.

Six months is a bit more manageable. . . I may very well get on the waitlist for a sparkly if I like how this one handles. I'm such a dragon addict. Seriously, you should see my apartment: dragons on the ceiling, dragons on the bed, a four-foot long night fury draped over the recliner in my living room, they're everywhere. XD

 

Heh, got it, you're not the one for the magical space ferret. I'd be tempted on that front, but for Agatha I really need one with eight legs, not four.

They're the same price as the other wings ($120) because they also include the spare breast part. She was willing to sell me both pairs for $220 but it was too much for me at that time.

My own Darkhorn finally shipped from the seller! Hopefully should have him by the end of the week (kind of hoping Thursday or Friday, since my mom will be visiting and thus would be able to keep him from spending all day on a blazing hot doorstep).

 

I did hear from Cuartos now that she's back from vacation: she claims that now the wait is down to about 2 months, but we'll see how that holds when the big dragon starts shipping out. XD She also said it's possible to send in a glitter of your own for her to use for a custom cosmic color! Definitely tempting. . . Still need to ask what it would cost for *just* outstretched wings sans torso; she said she can do that, but didn't say how much they'd be.

 

Hopefully I can post some pre-blushing eye swap photos this weekend.

I. . . am not sure exactly why I decided to name my dragon after a hypothetical faster-than-light particle, but eh, the name sounds cool at least.

 

 

He came with all his goodies from the original manufacturer, plus a tiny bottle with a couple of teensy opal-like cabochons. The seller thought they might make good eyes for him, but my mom let me mooch some Dreaming Tree eyes from her instead; I'll definitely find a use for them elsewhere though, because they're cool.

 

 

The wings are BIG. They're going to make him so much more impressive once they're on. That'll probably happen once I blush him, since I'll have to re-string him after that anyway.

 

 

The suede pouch is lined, with this nifty printed cotton.

 

 

He definitely wouldn't fit with the wings on, but without them he slots in PERFECTLY.

 

 

"What? Is there food? Tell me there's food."

 

 

"I'm a pretty ballerina!"

 

He is a bit floppy, and from what I've read, this is a common problem even with first-hand Darkhorns. Doesn't mean he doesn't pose at all though.

 

 

I actually have even more pictures of him (including some of him with DD Miku, for size comparison), but I think for now I'll leave it here so I don't utterly spam the thread. XD

Wow Poofie, he looks way cool! Congrats on getting him home! I'm looking forward to seeing him with the wings on, they look like they'll really have him come to life. I also want to see him alongside your DD girls for sizing as well as interactions.... especially with Agatha.

The articulation looks damn impressive, I just might have to save up more and see what a "space-ferret"

might run.

 

The other Kiddos have plushies and such, but I think Merri might benefit from an "astro-weasel", maybe?
