One question though: Where did you get a DD3? I thought they weren't out yet.

I love her, and I'm a fan of the Volks Asuka. She looks great. I'm very impressed by your wig making skills, sewing together different wigs sounds very difficult. Her wig turned out great, though, especially the back. My Asuka's hair won't stay flat and I have to pin it down (because of the twin tails).

 

I'm actually considering making a set of headclips using your tutorial/plan. I'm not sure if I should or not . . . on one hand, I like my own set, but I do like how yours turned out and that they are actual functional clips. My set requires elastic bands and clips, which is fiddly and visible. And like I said, your Asuka's wig looks way better from the back.

Congratulations! Everything about her is perfect. You can see how much work went into her. It is wonderful you didn't give up. Littlebearries did a beautiful job too. She is a spectacular Asuka.

Thanks. I picked it up in an auction after the last Dolpa, it was from the knife wielding maid whose name I forget at the moment.

Thanks. Nice to hear a Volks Asuka owner approve. The wig was a pain but I'm pretty happy with the result. Wouldn't mind a little bit fuller bangs but I don't know how to achieve that given what the wig had to start with. It only bothers me on the direct side view though.

 

As for the clips I guess it's up to you. It's not too hard to mod the earphones, but if you're happy with what you have I guess there's not much incentive.

Thank you. A lot of work did go into her, I guess I really wanted to make this happen.

I know I've told you already numerous times but I'll say it again. I think she turned out really great! Using the anime cel you shared was a smart way to get her looking like you wanted and I'm glad you posted that so people could see how closely your DD Asuka matches up with it.

 

As usual, Littlebearries did an amazing job. I think she has the attitude without being too angry... more of a miffed expression.

 

Also, you doing the work on the wig and the hair clips has to make this even sweeter for you. Helping your vision become reality should have been a nice thing to do.

You're welcome! I'm glad I could help you out even by doing nothing but providing some pics. Thinking back, this is twice now that Rei has lended her photos out for other DD's to be painted from. The first was Ms. Geeks Sarge and now your Asuka. Maybe I should be charging some type of fee for all this modeling Rei's been doing.....
