Takane is actually the most amusing weirdo of the bunch. As far as headmolds go, id suspect the miki/Chihaya/makoto type mold, if there is that much of a difference between them these days. Atleast I think unknowndata put a lavender wig on a chihaya head, and plopped it on a bigger bust body, and I was ready to call that pretty proper.. heh. Doesn't help that only Misaki Serika seems to sculpt them, disregarding one horrifying idol from the very beginning. (Haruka Amani or whatever her name was). I'm starting to straight up disrespect Volks for this (or should I disrespect the company for continuously commissioning them...). Like seriously, 10 Idols? Within like a, what, 3 years? Is it even that? Man, you don't even have that many Fate/ dolls. XD And I'm pretty sure Type-Moon > Idol anything ever. I guess they just gotta bleed the cashcow totally dry.... Bubbles Posted July 21, 2015 I am very surprised that Volks doesn't make Love Live DDs, since they have a license for it to make garage kits. Love Live is way more popular at the moment. Though I like the original Idolmaster, it is old news. I stumbled upon Idolmaster through youtube videos of the songs. For me, Takane and Chihaya are the best singers out of them, so MUST BUY! Seeing how popular the 'idol' genre is at the moment in Jpn, we'll probably be seeing Idolmaster releases for a loooooooong time. On a semi related note, kinda sad that Azone seems to have licensed most of the animes that i watch. Probably when they have released the whole 765 Productions cast, because that's how Im@s releases tend to go. The girls tend to come in complete sets of either 11 (first game) or 13 (second game) girls, depending on when the figure series was released. Sometimes they come out all at once, but other times they are spread out over time, like the Brilliant Stage PVC figures for instance. In any case, they all come out, and there are people who collect the whole cast not just their favorite ones. Of the regular 765 Pro cast: Announced/Out: Haruka, Chihaya, Miki, Makoto, Yukiho, Takane (6) TBD: Yayoi, Ritsuko, Iori, Ami/Mami, Azusa, Hibiki (6) The Cinderella Girls cast (Mio, Shiburin, Uzuki, Ranko) is from a separate game series, a smartphone-based trading card game. There is also Million Live, a different phone game, with even more girls. The most popular gals from these two sub-franchises might come out, since Bandai-Namco is focusing on these franchises the most right now. But regardless of how many Cinderella/Million girls come out, I think they'll at least finish up the main 765 cast. Eventually! Volks probably will also do Love Live at some point in the future. Cauldroness Posted July 21, 2015 Idolm@ster is far from dead. They just had the 10th anniversary concerts, where they made a whole bunch of announcements of upcoming projects. There's a new app coming out (IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage) and a new PS Vita game (IDOLM@STER Must Songs). Plus, they're making a PS4 version of the Idolm@ster game and released the first trailer for that. The Cinderella Girls anime is currently airing its 2nd season (started July 17), and they just announced that "Million Live!" will have an anime adaption as well as a national tour. Even in the official pamphlet from the live they had the DDs in it. I really hope they make all the girls. Even though that would kill my wallet. foo Posted July 23, 2015 Ya, it's not so much that Volks wants to make iM@S DDs as it is that the licensor holder (Bandai Namco I guess) wants to keep putting out DDs and footing the bill for production. Volks doesn't take on all the risk of designing a licensed product themselves (design, sculpt, molds, accessories/clothing, price ~ profit margin, marketing, etc). There's probably several companies that would like to get a product out by a certain Dolpa (ie, Alisa 2 is perfect timing for the anime). I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of bidding involved （￣～￣;） Even in the official pamphlet from the live they had the DDs in it. Given how many iM@S DDs there are and how good they are, the license holder probably sees it as a prestige thing. Of course they'd want more Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
