Default Shinon

Well, after nearly a whole week I got around to Shinon's actual default getup.

Mostly because I wanted to try out a bit of more moody stuff, so this is a two part photo deal this time.

 

So first up the brighter part:

So what are my initial impressions?

 

I still think this is the wrong default setup for this character.

 

While I can admit that overall this is the more technical concept out of the to, guns and all, I still would have preferred my Shinon with cat ears, and a bow and arrow, from the ALO side of sword art online.

But one thing I dont really like at all is the props, which are more or less the meat of the release.

It would be really nice to have the doll to actually wield either gun without too much hastle, with the glock being tolerable, but the Hecate rifle is a disappointment you really cant get a hand part over the grip properly.

But it still has some ornamental value at least.

I don't really like the mega-sculpted wig either.. and the hairclips are a real pain in the ass, especially the little white one's that are always plotting on dislodging... but even that said, creating Shinon's rough and tumble hairdo otherwise would be a bit of a challenge.

Otherwise the outfit doesn't have many many problems, aside from the utility belt that wants to unbuckle all the time, and oddly enough there are no socks for the feet. But atleast there is some effort in terms of stain prevention.

Those low light photos are incredible and really bring out the character! So much drama.

 

I'm sorry to hear that her weapons are a hassle. They look so detailed too - at least they make good props.

mmm, the guns are a bit of a let-down, but I still haven't tried the deka-hands with them, so that might help at least with the rifle.

another for the lyrics section which I had as a theme song for Shinon quite a awhile, when waiting for the lottery. Archive's Bullets, that was made more famous by the Cyberpunk computer RPG teaser trailer.

You always take fantastic photos that it's beyond ridiculously awesome. You've captured this doll is the best way I think anyone could've done. I've always been a sucker for girls with guns though.

Thanks, though I don't think besides the rubble shots there isn't that much special sauce involved.

 

But amusingly shinons wig is a nice enabler, where you can play with hiding one eye at a time, aside from the guns.
