Falling for a Girl you'll never have!! Custom Yukiho UPDATE

Hey Everyone,

 

Don't you hate that moment when you stumble upon a girl and stare open mouthed... all you can think is how can i get her!? lol

This happened to me today, i was googling various DD related notions and saw this girl, she was on Jadepixel's tumblr and on following the link i was at a lovely blog of the owner who seemingly is a face-up artist?! Bitters Cat??

 

UPDATE: So... i actually did sit here plotting, i wrote the owner/artist an email on their blog, translated it into japanese, then got stuck on the 'identify yourself incase you're a robot' box, I've tried and tried but can get the code right... so i had to abort the mission...

 

Can anyone help?????? anyone know this artist?

To me this type of girl is ideal, i love the face (apparently a custom Yukiho? ) and i love the styling, wig, coat, hat, sweater etc.

 

sorry that I'm drooling, but she's freaking perfect!!! argh...

had to share this so i can have some mutual pain sharing when this happens lol

Hope its ok that I've used the photo, i know I'm going to be drooling and plotting how i can get her or a girl like her asap!!!

The artist is indeed Bitters Cat but they don't take any commisions and only do auctions I love a lot of their work too so I know how you feel. You could try commissioning someone to make a Yukiho similar to her. People like White Dolly Story could do it. But she charges a lot like $300 so be warned

Sadly you won't be able to get a commission from the artist (this is a usual thing for Japanese artist, they can get crazy money painting heads and selling on YJA, so they don't have to got through the hassle of taking commissions), you're better off as Waffles suggested and finding an artist who can do a simialr style for you.

 

Yukiho is at least partly similar to 06, which can be picked up from Volks super cheap. Finding an artist is trickier. I highly recommend Chien on this forum but I believe she gets very booked up.

 

If you had your heart set on this particular artist they will always post new auctions on their blog... But their recent heads have gone for 1000000 to 200000yen, (eg $800 to $1600) so I'm not even sure how you win auctions like that with a proxy >_<

No wonder you fell! She is sooo adorable!

You're right she is similar to 06, i do have an 06 head actually, i might even look into face-ups myself and see what happens, probably will all go wrong but we have to try right?!

 

well at least if not the doll i have some stunning photos of her to looks at! lol

I'm hoping Volks releases another im@s girl in SWS because so far they are quite similar in facial features. I think Mio and Uzuki are even the same mold. Getting ahold of one of them would be much easier than Yukiho. Good luck on your quest!

She's really beautiful! something similar happened to me with DD Nia Teppelin. I found the head but I'm not willing to spend $800 for just a head so she's my DD unicorn and probably will always be.

I've had this happen, and I was going to get the same doll and go through the same faceup artist but get something in the same style not the same faceup. But now that exact doll is up for sale... and I don't have the money TT~TT

I had the same feeling when I saw this custom Erica:

 

I never liked her sculpt, but this custom Erica is sooo~ beautiful

A couple years back, I saw a custom WS DD that was being sold on Figure.FM by an owner desperate for money; starving student, eviction imminent, etc. The DD was dressed in a white elegant (Loli?) outfit & the eyes had nicely applied & trimmed eyelashes. I hadn't been attracted to WS DDs before, but that one looked into my soul.... Anyway, some of us tried to contact the person, but I saw no evidence of any replies. I actually offered to lend them the money using the DD as collateral for a specified time. The member seemed to just disappear. I don't have a picture like the one starting this thread, but I don't need one. That DD lingers in my memory uncomfortably as if I had failed in some attempted rescue. I think I'll have a bit of whiskey over ice now.

 

Anyway, your goal of a near Yukiho duplication might be attainable as you have such a clear picture for reference. Did the owner describe or offer any information on the costume & accessory sources?
