No obitsu 65cm any time soon. (bad sale story/rant)

So this is a long story of why all my doll plans have been thrown in the dirt by one person. the story below.

 

In June I was selling my OB boy to re-shell him with a DD09 head and a 65cm obitsu guy body when I got a message from someone wanting to buy him...

 

this would be there first doll and they loved that it was a custom Gaara. they let me know they would early July have some money and wanted to buy him so I out if kindness offer to hold him until July. then two weeks into July they gave me a deposit and said in two weeks thy would have the next payment (I thought this would be the full amount left)

 

so asking two weeks after they said they can pay the layaway in a few weeks...... I never agreed to a layaway. I was really ill for a week and I thought I must of agreed to one during those days where I was out of it. so agreeing to a layaway I asked for the dates payment would be and how much... three times I asked and three times they avoided the answer.. I then wrote one up my self and showed them, they agreed to this. then the day of the fist payment came and went with no payment. the next day I messaged saying I took non payment as the emergency payment skip which I always give one for any layaway. to this they got really angry at and started to say how horrid and rude I was.. they calling me names and unwilling to see the stress and upset they had made for me then told me " You should learn to respect people." then followed by blocking me.

 

3 hole months waited wile bending over backwards for them with nothing to show for it other then a tiny deposit that mostly went on me buying a box to send it in and being called the bad person in this.. I did cry after this then got angry.... but now I have re listed him about on my pages I use for selling (not on here of cores) so maybe before the end of the year he will sell then I can buy the 65cm body I want.. Poor guy wont have a body and Error wont have her Bf back...

 

Really this is one of the worst experiences I have ever had in the doll hobby with 3 months wasted on some childish and down right hateful person. Now I feels so uncomfortable with selling this doll in any type of layaway which is sad since layaways are the savour to many collectors to get the doll they want including me. I will later sell him I hope to be able to afford the 65cm boy needed for the 09 I have waiting to go to a lovely face-up artist that they have given me an amazing deal on.

 

thing I learnt form this... Don't try to help someone get the doll thy want.. if they want it they will buy it out right.... such a lovely thing...

Sorry you had a bad selling/buying experience. You aren't the first person this has happened to and you certainly won't be the last. A lot of people like to hide behind the anonymity online transactions gives them, whereas they may never act so poorly in person. Accept the name calling and bad behaviors you received as an admission of guilt and move on. At least you didn't lose money or a doll in the deal.

indeed. I have don't many sales on FB with art commissions and clothing sales but I guess a bad transaction was due in my sales history really.

 

I am glad I did not send anything prior (I am never one to do this anyway) but the time and effort ws the thing I lost mostly so it had upset me. its been a wile now and I am as I type on holiday so I am over it just annoyed now that I can't get my boy body. I have a link to one on amazon and eBay so I hope to grab one on there. not seen any second hand sine I decided to look for one.

That experience sounded like a nightmare Error-Chan. :C

 

I'm sorry that that exerience left a bad taste in your mouth about layaway. I would say don't give up on offering it, because it's hard to find a buyer that can and will readily outright purchase something doll related these days and can leave you bumping forever.

 

I would recommend to clearly define layaway terms and always include "All payments Non-Refundable" when offering it, and if anyone tries to do something you didn't discuss check your message history and call them on it. Seriously, don't let your buyers walk on you.

 

Bending over backwards is for friends. Its okay to bend back a little but don't tread into the uncomfortable for someone who seems shady.

I had to discuss bluntly with a couple of sellers that kept trying to raise the cost of my purchase on me from what was originally agreed upon and one was after the final payment was made, that it wasn't cool and if they were serious they would have to find another buyer.
