Squidsister Posted August 9, 2015 Hey everyone! My name is Jess and I'm new to the vinyl doll world . I've been in the bjd hobby for about 6 years but I've been on hiatus from the hobby for about a year and a half. I still have a few of my resin boys around, but I've decided to switch my focus over to Dollfie Dreams! I've always wanted one and I just recently purchased my first girl straight from The Volks website. I LOVE her! They're so much lighter and easy to pose. Doing her face-up is waaaaaaay different than when I worked on resin faces. It took me forever and I'm still not happy with it. Haha! Practice makes perfect though. Anyways, I'm exited to be a new member here and hope to make some friends This is my girl Lennon "Leni" Matsuoka. She's a DDH-06.
Lore Posted August 10, 2015 Welcome to the forum! Wow that faceup is fantastic if that's your first try! I could only hope to get near that nice once I buy my 07 head. Beautiful doll, cute outfit, and congrats on your DD! Hope to see more pics in the future. Squidsister Posted August 13, 2015 Welcome to the forum!Wow that faceup is fantastic if that's your first try! I could only hope to get near that nice once I buy my 07 head. Beautiful doll, cute outfit, and congrats on your DD! Hope to see more pics in the future. Thank you so much for the sweet welcome DD face-ups are definitely more difficult for me than my resin bjds. I think it's because the style is so different. I did more realistic face-ups with resin bjds. I would LOVE to see pictures of your new doll when they come in! I'm sure I'll be posting a lot more of Leni soon Thanks again!
N2DollsNow Posted August 17, 2015 Welcome to the forum! Whatever skills you developed working with resins will mostly transfer over to the DD realm. Echoing Aubzy82, your face-up work on this DDH-06 is very good. We are our own worst critics, so take heart that you're well on your way to producing some outstanding work. There's a lot of information here that will help you accelerate your skills by learning from those who've gone before. And we're all hoping you'll post some more pics of your girls! kirsei Posted August 18, 2015 Hello hello! I live in Georgia as well, around the Macon area. Your girl is so cute! How was faceupping her different from resin? If you've painted MH, is it similar to them?
Weenie Posted August 19, 2015 BAH!!! She's so cute!!! (Nice to meet you btw and welcome to the forum!) I love her wig! And I have always loved the 06 sculpt, it's just one of my favorites! Where'd you get her skirt/shorts from? They're really, REALLY cute~ You're in the opposite situation as me! I'm not new to dolls either, but back in the day I only collected the vinyl dolls and now I've kinda switched over resin ones XD (I love my resin pretty boys!<3)
