Smart Doll Boy body with DD heads [Pic Spam]

WHAT??? Smart Doll boy?? If this is all news to you, here's a handy-dandy link to clue you in.

 

Now, just for base reference this is Eiji with default (blank) head with Parabox eyes I'm working on getting some photo sets done before doing his faceup. It's easier to design for someone with a personality. All the photos are in the same pose to make the comparisons easier.

 

 

 

*A little note about the fit of the heads: Despite what I originally thought and despite what it looks, most of these heads don't actually attach to the Smart Doll neck joint. (I just got lucky with Ralph, but even his head doesn't fit solidly.) For some the Smart Doll neck 'stem' isn't even long enough to reach INTO the DD head. I'm currently puzzing through so ideas to easily mod it so DD heads can easily be used.

 

Warning: Some of these look really rather weird and creepy because of the girl faceups. I've tried to do the best that I can just short of removing faceups. Despite that, some of these just look wrong!

Before you point it out, I know his blushing is rather strong. He isn't intended to use this body and his final body will be blushed to match. I'm posting this here to show that even with limited heads that are lighter skin tones can be blushed to work with darker skin bodies.

Some of these made me snicker! But the 05 and 07 heads work great, and Momo is a surprisingly handsome lad ^_^

Thanks for the photos. They're very useful. I think Momo, DDH 05 and DDH 07 work really well with this body.

I'm glad that this post was at least a little helpful. I really wish I had blank sculpts of all of them to make it easier to see the sculpt possibilities, but even I have to admit my limits.

 

I've been really impressed with Jazijaz's MOMO boy Jorgen and I'd be curious to see him on this body, if he ever chooses to 'grow up.'

 

I'm glad to know that the 07 does work well with this body, now I have hope that Kiyoteru will be finished someday! As for the 05... I'm struggling pretty hard. THIS is what I originally wanted Lucas to look like, and he looks so perfect. Only problem is that he's a lot taller than Tamayuki. I haven't figured out yet if he will change or not. Their height difference is very much like Mori and Hunny from Ouran, and Tama is supposed to be short, I'm just afraid that it's too much of a stretch or that Lucas would come across as a pedophile even though he's only 3 years older than Tama. (As usual I'm obsessing over details that if they were in an anime would just be totally accepted as fact and hardly anyone would blink an eye.)

 

Lorelai... I never wanted an 02 boy and I want one even less now. I only did it because it was the only 02 head I had, and it will never happen again. As for Dakota, I can either look at her face, or the body. My brain will not compute the two together. Most of it has to do with the lipstick because I actually DO want an 04 boy, she's just a horrible representation of what's possible.

Thanks for the pics Sister Kyoya! It's nice to see most DD heads aren't too small for SmD boy like they are for the Obitsu 65.

Than you for posting these pics. I love how 07 looks on the SmD boy. I think my Allen is going to look great in that body. Also, I'm now even more eager to get one because I wanna see what Marius looks like on that body.

 

Tama looks 'okay' on that body. At least now I know what he might look like when he grows up but I still prefer him as he is Lucas isn't so bad. I can see him on that body but yeah, Tama as he is now will be too small. (Kaylus thinks that's hilarious BTW since he believes Tama should stay as he is and this just keeps Lucas away from his cute Lil' Bro.). KosMos' head looks a tad too small but might work with the right wig. Miku and MOMO also makes cute boys. And I think Yui too but he might be better off on a 50 cm body.

I agree that the heads DDH-05, DDH-07 and Momo look so wonderful on this body! *__* I love the look of DDH 05 with that wig, DDH 07 looks so so handsome my Momo's character is only 15 so the body would not look good for him but for other characters, it looks so perfect!

I'm happy that more than a few laughs were gained from these photos. Some of them just look too weird not to laugh at.

 

Even though I had checked measurements multiple times, I still expected Eiji to be bigger. I'm really glad that he's not because then the DD heads would look like pinheads. Wigs can only fix so much.

 

Katnaper: I was pretty convinced from the beginning (once I started testing the DD heads) that this body would be perfect for Allen! As for Marius, I've been curious what that head sculpt would look like on the SmDB body. I also think it would be hilarious to see Kaylus' reaction to him 'growing up' as well. I get the feeling he prefers small cute things.

 

It was so hard not to crack up at KosMos looking like a 'jungle man' with Miss Lottie's default wig. It didn't look too bad, yet at the same time her head size just seems really wrong. LOL! Seeing Yui's head on a boy body really, really gave me the urge to get a 2nd head to finally get Eddie done. Too bad my wallet is being held hostage and the outstanding ransoms have yet to be paid.

 

Tama on the SmDB body was totally his nightmare. The 03 head isn't too terrible on that body, just not Tama. As for Lucas... it's almost guaranteed that the next SmDB body I get will be snagged by him. He didn't want to change because he didn't want to upset Tama. Once the little prince saw Lucas (in a towel no less...) Tama started giggling and blushing, and has yet to stop.

 

 

Needless to say, Lucas puts Tama's oppinion way over Kaylus'! (Lucas just mutters something about Kaylus being jealous because he's detained in some foreign country.)

 

Jazijaz: Your welcome! I do have to say I've been a bit jealous of Jorgen... although it's not like I have a shortage of DD around here. Urg... I'm happy that I could enable help you into the hobby. At times I get embarrassed thinking of how much I've ranted about DD boys over the last 3+ years. I'm SO looking forward to the new DD boys that will pop up after Eiji is finally released, but I'm a bit hesitant to think about how many of them will be my own. The current count is three but easily can tripple once I add in some of the others I've been waiting years to do. I'm so hopeless. LOL!

 

Lucas' hair still isn't finished You can't see it, but there is a binder clip holding his hair in the back. It's still too long and POOFY. One of these days I'll just need to hack at it. I'm still so undecided about my 07, I think mostly because he's not finished, doesn't have a wig, and he's missing his glasses. As for the body/age issue I'm going with the anime aesthetic of high school boys with bodies of full grown adults. Ralph is 16, Lucas is 15, and Madison (WIP) will be 17. Kiyoteru sensei (my 07) is supposed to be in his 20s but I haven't decided yet if I'm going to goof with his timeline and put him in high school. I have two full grown men I want to do but I'm planning on using the 'super hero' body for them just to make the distinction.

I knew that there were male body!

The Smart Doll boy body/Eiji Seiun isn't released yet (I have the developer's version) but last I heard, Danny was planning on a full release sometime in October/November.
