Your Smart Doll WISHLIST

I'd like to see some glasses and cat ears for the Smartdoll. Just do it Danny, it's easy money!

 

I want Smart Doll glasses SOOOO bad haha! I'm hoping that glasses are part of Eiji-kun's default.

 

I would like for Danny-san to make:

 

-glasses (agreed!)

-headphones

-Lolita outfits

-Kigus (though he said the Tora one would be out next month! Yay!)

-more casual footwear

-more T-shirts, with the mascots on them or hire some artists to make some cool ones (hint hint. HIRE ME)

-option heads and bodies

-Idol hands!

-eyes and wigs (I know these can be found elsewhere but I really like Danny's ideas so I'd love to give him more of my money lol)

 

And I really hope the joints can be improved. When I bought my DD Miku I found Miku was more poseable and didn't creak when I moved her joints. Different head designs like Volks has for their Dollfie Dreams would be great too. I already got my wish with the flatter bust lol

I'm probably a bit late to this party, but, since I'm saving up for Mirai, might as well say something.

 

I would love it if Choo-san offered the option to customize your doll when you ordered, just to save on waste and box space. I plan on purchasing the large bust because, canonically, that's what Mirai has, and I can't say I'm huge on the idea of having the small bust just laying around. It seems wasteful to me.

I suppose the same could be said for a wig. Rather than having to get her 'factory' wig, I kinda wish it was possible to switch out for one of the other wigs he offers, like the short style or a different colour.

I don't mind paying for those things separately, or paying more for them, I just don't like the idea of having parts or wigs laying around that I'm not using. But maybe that's the point behind selling spare parts.

I suppose that would fit into a 'Custom Doll' option.

 

Also, obviously, more clothing would be lovely. Dresses, loli, suits, and maybe some traditional Japanese clothing would be wonderful additions to the inventory. I love the shoes he offers already, just more colours would be awesome (since Mirai's favorite colour is orange, and all they offer is red sneakers!).

Likewise, props. Simple things like kitchenware, cat ears/tails (maybe styled after Necomimi ears?), etc etc. Mirai loves swords, and properly sized swords of various shapes and makes are weirdly difficult to find. Knowing Choo-san, he'd probably track down actual blacksmiths to make them!

 

... but eh, I ramble too much. I mostly just want a way to not waste doll parts. ;_;

I'd love all those things to be made by Danny-san too. I'd rather pay him than the other big box companies. He seems to put more love into his projects hehe. That being said, I do understand that his base of operations is still small and asking for all those items will take lots of time and money he may or may not have to start those projects. Not to mention his position on the Japanese Travel committee, Culture Japan Show (where is season 3), MC'ing Conventions, etc etc. In addition, like I said earlier, I'd rather pay him and knowing the basic knowledge of what he endures to get things done I still wish his items were just a tad lower lol. I know I know I'm contradicting myself, but I'd like to buy everything hahaha. I just don't have the money. Maybe a frequent shopper discount?

 

Oh P.S. How about some weapons, like Kyudo Bows, Samurai Swords, Guns? I know ppl get them else where but I'll support you Danny-san if you make them.

He did mention before that he tried making glasses, so I really hope he brings that back up and makes glasses for the Smart Doll! Especially because Eiji as a character has glasses - SmD Eiji should have glasses too! He should also try making headphones and cat ears, but I'm pretty sure he won't be doing those any time soon ^^;

I also find it strange that he hasn't announced making a Haruka or Kanata SmD yet; they're also his mascot characters. Perhaps because their hair is harder to achieve in doll form? I really would like to see a pink SmD wig though :3

I also think he should make a school uniform for Eiji! The SmD boys should get more love~

He has confirmed a boy's school uniform in the works a while ago, but no idea when that will actually be.

I really wish he'd get the boys hand pack out already, all this new stuff is great but I'm a little miffed the girls have two hand packs while the guys still have none despite him working on them since last year.

 

As for Kanata, last year when he was posting a bunch of pictures of the Culture Japan characters for christmas greetings, when he posted the one of Kanata he said 'her smart doll in 2016', so she'll be coming before Haruka, which is good because I really hope he manages to develop a smaller body before it's Haruka's turn. Chitose is one thing, but Haruka on that leggy body is going to be ridiculous unless they retcon her character design. (I mean they did it for Eiji, but that was more a bishounenafication ''uh no look he totally didnt have glasses!'' thing than a body redesign).

There hasnt been word since so it's hard to say if she actually will come out this year, what with the first licensed character doll and the Pocket Dolls also coming out. (plus Harmony and the cocoa-Eiji) But it's definitely something that's planned.

As for Kanata, I didn't know he had already mentioned her smart doll - though I have a hunch that she will not come out this year because he's so caught up in many different projects and releases at the moment. He also tends to release character dolls on their birthdays (Kanata's is July 4th) so earliest he would release her is probably next year. And haha right, leggy Haruka would not be good. He would need like a DDS type of body.

Danny overall seems like a guy that has so many ideas that he has and wants to do, but it'll take time because of all the new projects he keeps coming up with. I guess we'll just have to sit back and wait patiently (but I really hope the boys option hand parts will be out soon..) ^^;

Eiji was definitely super bishounefied from his original designs! Can't blame him haha, that's more marketable. But glasses aren't a bad idea.

Starlight is on my list.

There should be a bust size between small and medium.

Just as others have said, I want hand options for the guys.

 

Another thing I want is a bodysuit protector that matches the skin tones. I hate buying or making clothes and worrying that they'll stain the doll. I also hate having to buy a bodysuit and hope it fits.

I really want a cocoa boy, and more options for hands, eyes, wigs, and clothes.

Nami is on my wish list, which will probably never happen! But I really like Trinity, and think she would look good with my Melody. I'd also like a SmD boy, but don't know which one yet.

I understand that. She's the only smart doll I have any want for though so far. Even the new teaser models aren't my thing. Plus the old cocoa skin is the one I like and it would seem that Danny Choo won't be bringing it back. So honestly, I'll probably never find another smart doll that I like. Most look average, have the terrible looking black/dark dots on the ends of their mouths, have the weird angry-ish looking eyebrows that make them look kinda crazy, or just not the eye shape that I like (but this is all just my opinion, if you like certain models/sculpts that's totally fine). They just aren't my thing in the long run. Moonlight was the only one out of all that really would be worth my money and time. So, something else probably won't come up as I do not plan to purchase any other smart doll (and I'm going to keep my doll family to a minimum + only get dolls I absolutely 100% want; she's the only one I want and no one else in the smart doll line).

But, thank you for the kind words! Hopefully I can get her one day but if not, then that's just the way it has to be.

As far as I can tell, the best place to find her might be the Smart Doll Lovers Facebook page. Dolls come up for sale from time to time there, especially as new sculpts come out. I have the old Moonlight- sorry, not letting her go!!! But she is lovely.

 

So funny, because when she first came out there was SO MUCH uproar about how everyone hated the color because it seems to have kind of a purplish-tint to it. And now everyone wants one!

Especially Facebook as I’ve had one in the past and all it is (at least from my point of view) is drama. I’ve also had someone try to hack my account in the past and had to delete my account. Fwiw, the FB group has a really good admin and there's not been any drama yet in the 2-3 years it's been around.

 

I get what you're saying about not liking any other of the Smart Doll designs, but I think different people are attracted to different aesthetics and none of them can be considered above another. Many of Volks/DD design don't appeal to me for various reasons, but I can understand how they would to others, so I try not to be so dismissive of them.

The administrator of the group keeps it very positive, upbeat, supportive and drama-free. It's actually very refreshing. It's mostly owner photographs, which is really nice.

I apologize if there was any confusion. I just meant FB as a whole. But, thank you for letting me know and for being another that knows about the group.

I understand other people are attracted to other things. I even stated in my previous post that if other people like those models then that's fine. Meaning that if they think the models are pretty then they should keep liking them and maybe get them if they haven't yet. So, if you are saying I'm being dismissive because of that then that's not true. If you are saying I'm being dismissive of the Smart Doll brand itself, I stated that none of the new teaser models are my thing and if it keeps going the way it is then I probably won't see anymore that I like because of what's coming up so far (which is a good educated guess to make, I believe, and not so much dismissive but I could be wrong). Also, I don't really want a Smart Doll anyway except for Moonlight so if I even got her, I wouldn't probably look at Smart Dolls anymore as I was just interested in possibly having one in the first place anyway (the only one except for Moonlight that has caught a good amount of my interest is Mirai Anniversary version ((minus the black dot mouth; don't know how I would get those off without potentially damaging her face-up))).

Don't know what you mean by "none of them can be considered above another". Do you mean none can be considered over another as in there's not a full majority of which sculpt/brand is best? If so, then I agree. But, if you are saying that I, personally, cannot consider another sculpt/brand is above another then no, I have to disagree as I'm allowed to have that opinion.

If so, then I agree. But, if you are saying that I, personally, cannot consider another sculpt/brand is above another then no, I have to disagree as I'm allowed to have that opinion.

 

I'm sorry if what I said earlier sounded bratty or too narrow-minded. I didn't mean it to sound that way. I just am trying to be careful with what dolls I do buy and I want them to be the ones I 100% want. Not something "close" down the line or something different, to be honest. Also, I sincerely apologize if I read too much into your message, I tend to do that sometimes.
