Do the Senbonzakura gloves cause staining?

Recommended Posts

Guest

I just bought the Senbonzakura outfit off of Mandarake for my Miku, and it's great.

I was wondering if her gloves are likely to cause staining, though, as they're all black with no lining. Does anyone have any experience with leaving the gloves on for long periods of time? Any suggestions on how I can avoid staining without having to keep the gloves off? They're rather hard to put back on, so I'd rather not go through that strenuous process every time I want them on her.

YES. They didn't at first, but they definitely stain. I'm not sure what caused it to stain faster the last time I put them on, but it's hard to destain and I'm wary of using them again. I've washed them since using the typical method with a lingerie bag, I didn't wash them before. They look fine after washing, so I recommend it.

Thanks so much for the reply! Dang, it really sucks that her gloves stain. I just gave them a soak and am leaving them out to dry now.

Strangely enough, the gloves managed to stain AFTER I had soaked them. Weird, huh?

They stained my Miku's hands a dark orange color, which I find a bit strange, as her gloves are black. I'm using benzyl peroxide on them and leaving them under a lamp for the night.

This isn't unusual. As long as there is color in the item there will be dye to migrate out.

Again, not unusual. The orange component of the colorants used is migrating faster than the other parts.

If you like using the gloves you might consider buying an extra set of hands and leave the gloves on the already stained hands. From the pictures I've seen it looks like there is a separate wrist band. This could be lined on the inside with a white cloth tape, like the first aid variety. This would provide a barrier and an early warning. When stains begin to appear on the tape it's time to change the tape.
