Deathmaw Posted October 16, 2011 Hey all! As you have seen my Erika I have a few questions if that is ok. 1.Where is a good place to get clothes from that will deliver to the UK? 2.I seem to have some ocd issue with frizz. Is my Erika's hair meant to be a bit frizzy? If not how can i fix it? I use a soft bristled tooth brush to brush her hair. 3.How sturdy is the wig? I have had some hairs come out but i assume that is normal? she has lost less and less as I have owned her.
mitsuki Posted October 16, 2011 I am not sure about where to go to get things shipped to the UK. I think it can be hard for some countries to get things. I am amazed that Poland is not a country Volks International will ship too. I have an Erika but I don't use her default wig. I think it is kind of frizzy. It is probably hard to smooth. Volks has a product called wig mist that is supposed to help. Most wigs will lose a few fibers, especially if they are new. I hope it is not losing too many. scripple Posted October 16, 2011 I like Cool Cats for clothes. Not the largest selection but what they have is usually affordable and well made. I'm pretty sure they'll ship to the UK http://sk-coolcat.com/ They sell a nice wide toothed metal dog comb as well (that you could no doubt get locally but at $2 I was lazy and just tossed it in my last order), and I've had better luck using it than a soft bristled toothbrush on wigs. The toothbrush pulled out a lot more hairs than the metal comb does, and I know some people believe a metal brush is better in terms of frizz as it doesn't tend to build up the static like the plastic toothbrushes. I know on some of my Leeke World wigs combing them with the toothbrush was an exercise in frustration as the hair would just keep sticking to the brush due to static. Deathmaw Posted October 16, 2011 Awesome ill have a look at their website. I really wish Volks stocked more clothing constantly rather than the whole limited.

Deathmaw Posted October 16, 2011 Just to clarify. These guys take paypal and are trustworthy right? Also any idea's how much shipping to uk would be?
scripple Posted October 16, 2011 If you're asking about Cool Cats yes they take paypal, and I've ordered from them several times including high end made to order outfits and they've always delivered. I have no idea what shipping to the UK would be, but they will quote you air mail and EMS prices and let you pick. Check out my new DollFun website. Deathmaw Posted October 18, 2011 Um how long does it usually take them to get back with shipping price etc?
mitsuki Posted October 18, 2011 I haven't done an international order in a while. I don't remember how long it takes to find out shipping.
scripple Posted October 18, 2011 Not sure if you're talking Volks or Cool Cats, but both of them can take a few days, maybe up to 5, to get back to you. Check out my new DollFun website. Share your own doll photos with free image hosting.
mitsuki Posted October 18, 2011 I agree with scripple because he is always right.
scripple Posted October 18, 2011 I agree with scripple because he is always right. Thanks, but I was probably wrong in this case. I recall Volks gives you shipping at the time you place the order. So he's probably referring to Cool Cats. Volks is just slow to send payment confirmations and actually ship stuff sometimes. They're both good companies though. So just be a little patient and things should be fine. Check out my new DollFun website. Share your own doll photos with free image hosting.

Halcyon Posted October 18, 2011 1. Where is a good place to get clothes from that will deliver to the UK? Check to see if your country is on the list for Volks International: Information - Volks ships to which countries? Volks International is a great place to start if you are looking for Volks brand outfits and the bare necessities such as wig cap, wig stopper, shampoo, and conditioner. 2.I seem to have some ocd issue with frizz. Is my Erika's hair meant to be a bit frizzy? If not how can i fix it?I use a soft bristled tooth brush to brush her hair. For hair care, try Volks International's Hair Care & Skin Care section: http://www.volks.co.jp/en/dollfiedream/care_skin.html If you just want more information on the products in English, go to Volks USA's page. A soft bristled tooth brush should be fine. Volks has a Tenshi-no-Hair Brush, and it's about the same as a soft bristled tooth brush. When I'm looking for a tooth brush for the sole purpose of tending to and caring for my girls' hair, I usually look in the children toothbrush section. You won't believe how many cute toothbrushes I can find there! 3.How sturdy is the wig? I have had some hairs come out but i assume that is normal? she has lost less and less as I have owned her. Hairs coming out as you tend and care for the wig is normal for new wigs. When you brush Erika's hair, I recommend that you start from a section near the end of the tail or the lower ends of Erika's hair (see section below). Wig and hair fibers: ||||| <- 4rd: Once you brushed your way up to the top of the wig, it should be okay to brush the hair ||||| -- from top to bottom with a downward motion (normal way for men). ||||| <- 3rd: Continue brushing from the bottom up to clear up tangled hair and knots ||||| <- 2nd: Then, brush here ||||| <- 1st: Start brushing here in the lower ends with a downward motion That's the proper way to brush a wig with long hair. Now regarding whether or not wigs are sturdy... I can tell you this - I owned 6 wigs in the past, and all six of these wigs are sturdy - in my opinion. Maybe the members here can share some of their experiences with the wigs that they own as well~ If you want to know, you just have to ask. If you have any more question, please don't hesitate to ask~! DD 娘 - Dollfie Dream® Daughters {1} : DDS [ユ-ピィ] - Euphie

MikoAkiko23 Posted October 29, 2011 Well since this is a noob questions thread then I might as well ask: What is a one-off model? O.o And will the Tenshi no Hair brush work for the DD wigs? Check out my Flickr account for pics of my random artwork: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikoakiko23/sets/72157627987461066/ Hopefully I should have pics of a first daughter by next year ^^
