Kagamine Rin & Len & New Miku outfits!*pic updated*

Maybe the volks lottery will be DD Takane Shijou? Since the idol master dolls (I believe) have all be lottery. Vocaloid brings in so much cash to Volks that you'd think they would want to have Rin and Len as pre-orders and get as much cash as possible.

 

I just REALLY hope the new Volks issue has SOMETHING of them and hopefully it's not just drawings of them with an announcement that they're making a Rin Len DD. Maybe we'll even get to see the completed ribbon girl outfit.

Every time I see this thread bumped I go "ooooo maybe there's finally pictures!!!" No such luck so far!

They'll probably wait until the Sheryl/Ranka thing is over, so people aren't hyping over new doll releases AND new announcement. I can't wait though >w

My extreme hope is that the Crypton Vocaloids are a big enough deal that Volks would know that they would rake in the cash if they were preorders. If not... Aftermarket here I come. Basically I have no choice in getting the twins, even with knowing that the aftermarket prices are killer... but with 2 coordinating DD in fullsets. I really shudder thinking how much that potentially would cost. Even if I had to pay my worst-case scenario price (5k altogether) I'd bitch and complain and be upset about it, but I'd do it anyway. This is Rin & Len. There is no question of if, there is only the question of how soon.

Yeah, aftermarket prices can be really annoying at times. Dx I'm hoping that also, and seeing how the 2 Macross girls both had preorder projects going but were sold seperate, that Rin and Len get the same procedure since some of us are only capable of affording the price of one despite the time frame between ordering, creating and eventually shipping. Plus, there'll most likely be some people who only want one of the two and don't want to have to do a split/are unaware splits are an option.

 

As for ordering, I'm probably going to pass. I do like them, but they're not my absolute favorite Vocaloids either. :3 Unless they come and completely swipe the rug from under me with their appearance, then I might. I'll wait for the promo images to come out and decide from there.

This should have details of the new dolls for the upcoming lottery at Christmas and probably the new pre-order project. The pre-order project will probably be Rin & Len. I'd be shocked if it wasn't.

One of the dolls for the Christmas lottery will probably be Takane from Idolmaster as she was announced several months back.

 

Ah true, I completely forgot about Takane. Although, I'm betting they may use already released and high in demand dolls, since last year they used the Saber girls which (To my knowledge) were already out and saving Takane and the Kagamines for Pre-orders/Other events in 2016, but I'm not completely ruling out that possibility.

 

I guess we shall see if it is released when the latest Volks News comes out.

day of release - crazy prices

3 days after release - premium prices

 

Those premium prices either get sold or they fall down to 'oh crap I want to get my money back.' The only gamble is how many premium-priced auctions are going to stay around.

 

It's just that I remember from auctions it was REALLY easy to get a decent-priced Chihaya close to her release, but now they're pretty expensive. With Chihaya it was especially hard for people to profit at first because, well, her unibody SS bust was kind of limiting and she had that horrible staining wig. I remember seeing so many auctions, one person tried to sell the head & body separately to try on profit on both. He got a great price for the head considering how much heads usually go for, but that SS unibody body really wasn't that popular to sell on its own to make up the difference

 

But after enough time people realized how crazy-pretty she is and she's hard to get now, in any form (and hey, SS rocks). I've seen the same pattern with other DDs that have been released, like Yaya. When she was released she was pretty easy to get on the aftermarket for a good price, now she's usually ¥120000 (you can check sales history via aucfan.com).

Ah, I didn't catch that pattern, but now that you mention it and tell how Chihaya's auctions went at first, I can kinda see it. Nor did I know of aucfan, although now that I do know of it I'll look at it and see rates for DDs I'm interested in to see if their rates are rising or falling.

Possibly, although what made me think it was the Sabers was this site: http://volksusa.com/event/201412lottery/index.html and it says Holiday Greeting event. Could be something else though, but that's what got me thinking that.

 

Ahhh, so that's why they have 2 versions instead of those being optional outfits. I would sometimes wonder about that but shrugged it off as them milking the cashcow. Anyhow, It's possible it could be a MDD, although I didn't know about Best Selection until now, so I didn't know how it worked or where you voted for which doll to get a rerelease so I'm not sure if MDD was an option or not?

 

True, and I checked the Macross girls' history page to see when they were unvielled and it said Mid/Late November(The 21st, to be exact), so if the schedule goes like it has previously with the exception of Snow Miku, I guess we could be seeing them anytime soon? And if they are in the next issue Volks News, it'll probably be promo images of the dolls themselves since it seems they've already announced it at one point:

The only thing that has made it mildly better is for his birthday, giving Raven the other Project Diva video game for the PS3 that we didn't have so I'll be able to see more of Len and his outfits soon... but still that isn't helping any with the DD version.

 

I just realized that all the screaming that Yuriko did when she found out Miku was coming... We will get to hear the same thing with Tama. At least his voice isn't so shrill and more adorable. I'm still a bit annoyed that Miku is being a bit smug about all this too. I can just hear her thinking "You expect me to be here and not have my friends? Dream on!" So even after we get Rin & Len we are only half way there because Luka hasn't been optional since day 1, Kaito wormed his way into my heart much against my will, and Gakupo, well if you don't like a singing and 'dancing samurai' with a voice like that... Things would just be awkward between us.

Oooh, they're going to do Senbonzakura sets for Rin and Len too! Ah, I really love those outfits. I hope I get rich soon so maybe I can buy these two with their outfits and start a Vocaloid collection.

I'm excited to see pictures. I'm so glad they decided to keep making Vocaloids. I really do hope this maybe will open up the path for Kaito to be made. Seriously, I'd sell everything in my house + my left arm for that to happen. I'd probably settle for Luka though. She seems pretty likely at this point too.

We're in almost the same boat there. I just joined this forum because I just ordered the 60cm obitsu male body and a ddh 07...to make a Kaito! I'm doing his Diamond Dust outfit though, so I'd have no problem with having another Kaito in his regular outfit too.

Thanks! I'll probably pic spam progress too. I'm very excited to start on him. c: I should hopefully have everything I need within a month. Depending on how long it takes to gather all the clothes I'm going to alter.

How exciting! Hopefully next will be a new tan skinned DD.

...I cant believe I didnt think of it until now but...is anyone else wondering if Volks are going to be able to do Len's hair properly? Are his giant cowlick bangs whatever-that-is actually possible to replicate as a doll wig? Now I'm even more curious to see the result...

I hate to be negative, but when it comes to Len's hair, I have NO confidence that Volks will do it right. I've already bought the correct color of yarn to make him a custom wig. Volks can do a lot of things well, but I never expect them to do it perfectly. Currently I'm expecting the twins to meet up to 75% of my very high and perfectionist standards so I'm trying to think about and figure out how to fix the other 25%.

 

What can I say, I'm picky about my boys, and even more picky about my Vocaloids.

It is realistic to expect them to not be completely perfect--they are made by human beings, after all. I just think it's a little. . . illogical, I guess, to try to correct for potential issues when we haven't even seen what the issues could be yet. Deep breath, Sister.

 

Like I said before, I'm personally reserving judgement till we get details and photos. No commitment to either yes or no till I see their head(s), because the sculpt is the "heart" of the whole thing and if it's not likeable neither wanting them as Vocaloids nor customizing them is going to happen.

 

I would be willing to guess their wigs will end up looking like that... Well, after some fluffing and styling following opening.

 

I'd have to order Rin if her face looks like that... But these are the Tony Taka versions, so I suppose she won't.

Ohhh~ It would be so nice if they look like that. Maybe not with open mouths, but have the eyes, nose face shape.

 

Anything is possible with water based moose or gel. So I do think volks could make his hair somewhat like that. The wig won't come like that to owners. The owner will have to style the wig themselves. It will be a flat wig with a pony tail and no life to it.
