baldylox, thanks for sharing the boy body pictures! The inner skeleton must be different, because look how he is sitting cross legged!! It's a very good looking body.

 

DDS girls can also sit cross-legged, so that's not necessarily a new skeleton.

 

Since Len is a DDS, not a DD, and I suspect SD13B/SDGR B/SD might actually be too baggy for his frame -- he's going to be both short and slender. I mean, it'll "fit" but it likely won't look "tailored."

Because they're posed I can't tell if he's the same height as her or verrrrry slightly taller. SD13 boys are taller than SD13 girls so if he's not any taller then things will be long on him. However if he's taller that could end up making him about the same height as a DDII since they're only slightly taller than a DDS......... which given his slender build would make him look like a middle schooler who just went through a big growth spurt but hasn't bulked up yet. He looks like he'll be taller but skinnier than my OB55 boy, so it could be an interesting addition.

 

I really hope they release the body separately later cuz I want one so bad but I definitely can't cough up enough for a fullset any time soon.

Torino's not wrong about the text at the top though: it says that preorders can be made at the HTDP Nagoya 6 event hall. I wonder if this is another dolpa-goer perk. Volks has been trying to give people new and different reasons to go to Dolpa in person ever since they stopped selling dolls (for pickup) directly at the event.

I really, really hope that they end up doing the inverse: enter a lottery at the Dolpa and get them ASAP, and then have preorders for people who either don't want to take the chance or can't get to Dolpa, and therefore get them months later. (Also worth noting that in this scenario, the people who preorder at Dolpa would basically be THE first orders, and still get the dolls before any other preorder person.)

 

I mean, it would be stupid of Volks NOT to do a preorder on these two, seriously. Look at this hype! Plus their first DD boy, AND the fact that they're Vocaloids? If they don't do a wide preorder, then they're gonna be missing a HUGE opportunity.

Is it saying that there will be a lottery for advance orders at Nagoya Dollpa? It's really hard to see the text in these photos, do they usually use the word 'preorder' when its a lottery at all? :c Cos goddamn that's a huge disappointment if so, and a really idiotic business decision on Volks'part if true :/ I've been wanting Rin for so long now but with how many people who want them I dont even wanna know what kind of win/lose ratio this would have.\

 

I'm really hoping they're doing an advance lottery first and then preorders or I might cry lol.

And if its the opposite and you can get preorders at Dollpa/lottery everywhere else...I might have to go to this Dollpa. I'll be in Japan then after all.

Let's not forget Snow Miku's release schedule!

 

She had a limited pre-order that ran Feb 7 - 11 and was only available at the Sapporo show room, and this was for the early delivery of Snow Miku. Then there was a second, unlimited pre-order that ran Feb 14 thru April 12.

 

This may be a lottery for an "early delivery" of Rin and Len, and then there could be an unlimited order later on. At least, that's what I'm going to hope for!

Just when I thought the whole yo-yo struggle about what to do with my Snow Miku was finally over after all these months. The anxiety alone is exhausting not to mention how much I've already spent to just have Rin & Len as DD. I truely feel like I'm being bled dry and it's hard to be enthusiastic about the hobby in that sort of state.

 

My overreaction asside, I think the most probible sounding thing at the moment is what Cauldroness said. At least that's what I'm hoping for from the bottom of my heart.

Thanks for that info, Cauldroness! I will have to go see what my DDS girls can do!

 

I agree that SD13 or even SD boy clothes will be too large in the torso for a DDS boy type. DD and DDS girls are similarly a lot more slender in the torso than SD and SD13 girls.

Gosh I hope Cauldroness is right. Or back to retirement I go. I really want these two.

These are good questions! Sadly, whomever took these first photos cut out most of the important Japanese text that would answer these questions for us. I know it's all there in the magazine, but it's just not shown in the pictures which were focused on the dolls only. Further clarification will have to come when Volks posts details online, or at least if someone finds better scans of VN69 in the coming days. (please post them! The more Japanese text on it the better.)

 

What we know so far:

*The green box says "lottery", and it's the same icon they always use for limited dolls.

*The pink box says "order reception at the dolpa event hall".

*There's yellow text that mentions that Rin/Len will be "able to be preordered" at the HTDP event hall, but part of the sentence is obscured and unreadable.

 

So, what I'm interpreting it so far to mean is that if you go to Nagoya 6 then you can buy them straight out (guaranteed), whereas everyone else has to Lottery them. Volks IS calling them the "Summer 2016 New Dollfies", which implies that they're coming out right now.. no yearlong preorder wait.

I -did- also notice that the Senbonzakura clothes, while not shown, are mentioned, and it says they're going on sale this year. Which implies that so do Rin and Len which implies lottery.

But I still really hope they're both lottery and preorder like Snow Miku was and so maybe the clothes are too, and everyone who wants one has a fighting chance. I'm lucky to be in Japan when Nagoya Dollpa is on, but that doesn't necessarily mean I can go (its literally a week after I start my job and so I wont even be paid yet) and its a pretty hefty bullet-train price all the way from Fukuoka (although one I'd be willing to pay for Rin - it'll be cheaper than her aftermarket price if she really is lottery only...!)

So much unease until there's clearer info

 

And I'm sooo glad to see pics of the boys body ;-; I hope they sell it separate ASAP. I'll be able to shell the two main characters of my webcomic since one can have the smart doll body and the other this one - the height difference will be perfect. Although I'll still wait for comparison pics once Len is out.

 

Sydney and Melbourne? I support this fully! (I'd love to see them in the mid-nineteenth-century outfits from the capital origins arc/gold hunting sub-arc too xD)

This is barely related to the thread but I just wanted to mention how touched I am/how much it means to be that someone cares about my dumb webcomic ;-; Mel actually already got shelled as a pure neemo way back in 2012 (he was actually my first doll and the gateway drug that signalled my downfall, even if I didnt know it at the time.) I was even tempted to get Len's head/body alone just for this. I'd actually already wanted to make his child form into an MDD and am currently debating whether a modded ddh01 or the new dd10 also revealed in this same volks news would work better for that. Either way its a 'later' project cos Rin comes first and I'm not as made of yen as I wish I was.

So at least the Japanese can order them at Dollpa, but they must pay them in full right away?

 

My other fear was that if they did come up for pre-order, then we would have to pay for them in full upon placing the order. Because it seems like Volks has offered several batches of unpaid pre-order Mikus, so could it be that they no longer allow long pre-orders without getting paid upfront? T__T;;

 

I really hoped for a long pre-order so that I'd have time to save up... if it ends up being the worst case scenario, which is lottery only for international customers, then I doubt I'll stand a chance at getting either of them, let alone both. =__= I sure hope someone posts some high resolution scans soon, this whole "not knowing for sure" situation is killing me. @__@;;

sigh. I'll barely have any money whatsoever until August 20, let alone enough for a DD.

I'll be so heartbroken (kinda am right now ) I'm so determined about saving for Len. I couldn't possibly have enough for him until at least 4 or 5 months of saving. I hope Volks won't break it for any of us or I'll never forget this.

 

Come on Volks, this is your first male DD. Just serve the hypes. Wouldn't you make the world a better place if you could just make them obtainable for everyone that's willing to pay for them? Stop making things complicated.

I second every single word of this because it's what I've been feeling, but with a lot less swear words. Additionally I feel a bit bad if Volks decides to be bleeps that I've got a 'plan B' but still knowing how much others will miss out. In this way Volks really ruins a lot of fun of the hobby for me. I don't like feeling privlaged in any way when others are sad and heartbroken. It makes me feel horrable.

 

After doing so many gosh darn preorders for Miku, why would they go and pull this??

So you can preorder at Nagoya Dollpa....but you gotta pay in full. That's out for most people here who cant go to Nagoya Dollpa and out for me because lmao no way am I gonna have that much money before my first pay day.

 

OR you can do the lottery which is from August 13th to September 11th, results and payment from 28th September to October 2nd, dolls shipping from the end of October.

 

So I get to either choose from ''guaranteed Rin I can't afford, or not-guaranteed Rin I can afford.'' That timing, gdi :c (or the third choice, ''aftermarket rin at scalper price that I can probably still afford, since I'll have a few paychecks under my belt by then, but will still gut my wallet and make me cry")

 

At least if I manage to get her it'll be right before my birthday. That means I cant get the Kid Delf I was gonna get though.

 

So how many options do people in Japan have for lotteries, Dollpa aside (which doesnt apply in this case)? I understand people in the US have Volks US and Volks International, but can people in Japan use volks international as well as volks jp?? Does Volks international even ship to Japan or only everywhere else? It says on the site you cant use both the website and physical store (damn, and theres even one in Fu kuoka [is that seriously censored?!\).

Guess I'm gonna have to enlist the help of my other friends in Japan for this one.

You can't use Volks International if you live in Japan (unless they have changed things recently)

Torino, I just talked with a Japanese hobbyist on twitter and got the same info; either order them at Nagoya Dollpa or try your luck at the lottery. Quite disappointing news for people living outside Japan. ;__; I was so looking forward to these two and now it seems pretty impossible to get either. My lottery luck is terrible. =__=

 

If they make more Vocaloids and if they all are going to be this limited and difficult to get, I'm going to cry. T__T I don't especially care for Miku and of course she's the only one that is easy to obtain. I feel a bit bitter... *grumbles*
