Kagamine Rin & Len & New Miku outfits!*pic updated*

I feel so bitter right now. Volks could have been practically printing money with these two, but looks like they missed their chance. Ugh. I don't even have money for Len, but I did want a chance to get him. No way now, I have horrible lottery luck. And the aftermarket prices are guaranteed to be killer. What a letdown.

Well, that seals it for me. Now I can be happy that my Snow Mikus are on their way home, destined to be my custom Rin and Len. The things I've been compiling for them over the last few months won't be wasted, but it will still be a pain in the rear to design their outfits. The only hope I have left is that maybe someday the boy body will be a standard release, but for now I need to decide on if I'm going to deal with more hybrid bodies or just Obitsu.

 

I'm more than a little sad that after all these months Volks goes and does this. My heart is breaking for everyone. I did my once-in-a-lifetime lottery last time arround and I will not go through that again.

I know what you mean, SisterKyoya. To think they made us wait THIS long for THIS kind of news, ugh.

 

I'm determined to have Rin as my first DD though, so even if I have to suck it up and get her on Yahoo Auction or whatever after.... i know I shouldnt complain too much about Nagoya Dollpa seeing as its not even an option for most people here but AUGH if it had been TWO WEEKS LATER I could do it!!!

Somehow they look like Miku with a cosplay on :/ I expected something new :/

If confirmed then it is really sad from Volks. I was so happy yesterday and so disappointed today.

I can't understand why they do that, IMO they should know a lot of people would want Ren, so it would mean a lot of happy customers, and preorder was a very good option to test the market for male DD. There is probably something I can't understand because I am not volks. But as a customer I feel sad and disappointed now.

I don't know how I feel about this, I feel like crying like literally. I've prepared to invest for Len, now that I've been waiting since the FIRST DAY that they announce him. I was really thrilled, I imagined about having him as my only second DD. I was so excited the time they posted his pictures. I've had my saving for Len, the plan was to complete possibly after 4 or 5 months. Because I couldn't even feed myself for 30 days with my salary plus the economic state in my country. (Okay this kinda went personal.)

 

I hate it when it's Miku, there's NEVER a word like ENOUGH, but when it's time for the other characters, there'll always be limit to them. You need to go through lottery to obtain these characters, while you can pre-order Miku to your heart's content. Available for a long period of time. Because why not? EVERY BASE of EVERY VOCALOID FANDOM on this WHOLE UNIVERSE should only care about getting a Miku. People only care about Miku anyway, right Volks? Just like Mizya, this whole situation made me feel so bitter.

 

Uh, putting my overreaction and overly sentimental grief aside. I do hope I can get a chance to ever own him, perhaps searching for aftermarkets, if the price should be right. Or if not then, oh well...

Im so sad about not having a guaranteed rin and len!

 

I was talking with with a friend and she mentioned that its maybe because volks is stuck with so many mikus from pre orders that went unpaid that they decided not to have pre orders but it really makes no sense and is very unfair to those who wanted BOTH twins.

 

As someone who threw cash at miku, and again at snow miku even though its essentially the same doll, i find it very heartbreaking to have to get family and friends to sign up for fake accounts just so i can have both rin and len which even then isnt a guarantee!!!

 

Ugh!!!

This also really shows that Volks completely has NO idea about the Vocaloid fanbase and how Miku, Rin, Len, Kaito, Luka, and Meiko are the original Vocaloids. They are so cannon in the parings that they all may as well be a matched set. And splitting up the twins is something that just boggles me to no end. Great job Volks in one fell swoop having pratically an entire fanbase raving mad at you. The Vocaloids are so closely kept together that at one point or another the fans have made them all siblings or significant others (for better or worse! LOL!) I simply cannot fathom Volk's reasoning on this.

It was already over for me the moment Volks released Sheryl Nomes Military Outfit. Its a pain, if you are allowed to pre-order a doll but they don't give you the opportunity to get the special clothes for her too.

Just like everyone else here...I'm also just baffled by this decision. And I don't even want to picture the chaos that will be the aftermarket because of this. I'm so sorry to everyone who's feeling heartbroken over this. I wish all of you the best of luck in getting Rin or Len, or both!

 

I totally agree with you, Sister Kyoya. The fact that Rin and Len are an especially matched set is the whole reason why I wasn't going to try getting them in the first place. It's that collector impulse in me. If I had one, I would have to have the other. No way around that. And I'm sure lots and lots of people in this hobby, and in the Vocaloid hobby feel the same way. Lottery just wrecks that whole mentality up when Volks should frankly be cashing in on people like myself who need to have a set completed to feel satisfied.

 

(And like you said...those 6 are like a set in themselves. I get the feeling they'll just skip Meiko so that they can get away with skipping Kaito as well, so then I can never truly have a "complete" set anyway. But that's another issue for another time.)

A lottery...? Really? Give me a break. Another one myself and many others won't win after countless entires and hours of hope (and waiting). Spare me since I lost Rin S V2 recently. This is just....crappy...

Since it's a lottery, that means I have absolutely no chance at Len. I have lost every single lottery I have entered. That's fine - I'll save my money for Azone dolls instead. I'm more or less done with Volks at this point.

What a roller coaster. I have simultaneously been the happiest I've ever been in this hobby and the most heart broken. This really dampers my view on the company too. I mean, I don't mean to be dramatic.... Maybe they'll do a pre order later... But I haven't been this heart broken in a long time.

 

But now I have questions... Can we even enter if they do it on the Japanese site?

 

And how in the world do I go about finding someone to hand money to to get me one in Nagoya? XD but really...

It just sounds like they were burned too many times with the recent pre-orders (Saber and Miku for certain at least) and aren't sure they can keep up the production in a timely manner for Len.

 

That said, I think it would have made sense if they were offered as a pair for the lottery purpose at least, though that would mean even fewer winners. But I also admit it's more fair to say, people like me who like the body/face|head but have no connection with the characters what-so-ever.

This really sucks. So, Only people in Japan can get them? Them doing this is really just making sure that they don't get a ton of money, because I was 100% going to get both, but now I can't.

Ouch. That hurts me somewhere deep. The part that sucks most about the lottery is that neither are guaranteed and if, by some small miracle, you happen to win both, you have to shell out that much $$$ ASAP. I was hoping for a preorder just so I'd have a year+ to save for them, but no such luck. It'd break my heart to only enter for one, but it'd take me a while to recover from the kind of financial blow getting both would put on me. And that's assuming I would be lucky enough to win both!

 

I get that whole "fool me once" thing and why Volks would want to avoid preorders right now, but it still hurts. I guess our best hope is maybe they'll have a future rerelease like Snow Miku that'll be a global preorder project, given the hype surrounding them currently. I'm certainly not going to scour the aftermarket for them since it'll cost me more than my organs would be worth on the black market for just their heads.

 

I'm almost certainly entering for Len, and Rin's probably also going to be entered for (assuming the US market is allowed to enter), but it still crushes me to know that this is the direction that Volks has chosen for these two.

I wonder if the VOCALOID Company had any word in on this, because from what I understand when it comes to these kinda things they do actually have a word in what Volks will do, how they will sell them, and so on. It could be they just buy the rights to use their characters too. I guess it matters on if they were commissioned or what.

 

Also, there was a good point in here (sorry I read it and forgot who posted it), but Volks has been taking one hell of a beating back-to-back with these pre-orders. A lot of non-paying people. You see a good amount of them around and that's just on the side of those who actually voice it. I wouldn't be surprised if all the repeat Miku pre-orders weren't just to help them get rid of the extra from other pre-orders (at the risk of maybe people not payin' again...vicious cycle).

 

It is entirely possibly they already have a different pre-order project lined up, or a need to breathe seeing that lottery is their traditional method of sale and these pre-orders have been a major stress on their production lines. I've noticed yet again a severe drop in lottery winning results which always seems to happen when pre-orders start to get a bit out of hand... Could just be connecting things that aren't there though.

 

Anyways, I was just playin' Devil's advocate (Pretty sure that saying applies here) for a sec because I know it stings, but there could be many reasons we don't know that lead to this decision. Seems unfair, but really Volks hasn't ever been known for being a fair company. :P

 

As a more on-topic note: Cute molds. Looks like Miku. Zero interest. Thank you for not just doin' a flat busted female body for Len, though Len himself is still a cop-out imo. Look forward to seeing who else gets that body.

My dream was offered to me, I could almost smell it and touch it and then.... this. Volks snatched that dream from me, I feel like they're saying "look at it but you can't touch it "

 

Only Volks can make me feel full joy and in the next second full misery. Good job Volks!

 

But I'm still grateful that they have FINALLY made a male DD. I have so many mixed emotions right now...

 

Like the saying goes "What's meant to be will always find a way" my mom always used to say that so I feel a little bit better now. I was too angry, disappointed and so miserable before so I waited to write my reply....still heartbroken though : ( (and I still sound very dramatic >_< sorry)

 

There's nothing I can do but play the lottery and if I don't win(I really have no hope)...well, I still have my other boys who make me very happy. In the meantime, I will be waiting for the standard boy bodies so I can complete my boys and just be happy with them.

The FB book photos were sure nice to see. I was thinking I might have to get a Rin, but after seeing more photos, I'm not so sure. If she's a lottery, then I'll pass. I have Miku, which is my fav, but I'd totally love to have a Neru Akita too.

 

But Rin and Len aside, looking at the other pages, there sure are a lot of cute new clothes, but they keep using Snow Miku to model instead of regular Miku, so I don't know how they'll look with her as they seem color matched to SM's hair.

 

But most importantly we need to be talking about the elephant in the catalog; WHAT'S UP WITH THOSE GLASS COFFINS FOR OUR DOLLS? I could never buy one and put my girl(s) in it. The only thing that'd go through my head every time I see it would be, "She's dead Jim."

So you can preorder at Nagoya Dollpa....but you gotta pay in full. That's out for most people here who cant go to Nagoya Dollpa and out for me because lmao no way am I gonna have that much money before my first pay day.

 

OR you can do the lottery which is from August 13th to September 11th, results and payment from 28th September to October 2nd, dolls shipping from the end of October.

I'm not happy about this; I was hoping for preorder for saving-up reasons too--that way, I could still save up for down payment on a condo, and be recovered by the time these two shipped. . . Looks like that's flat-out not an option.

 

I'm not sure I want either of them enough to shell out for a proxy to preorder, and with the timing of it not sure I want them enough to try the lottery either. :/ Guess this means other doll projects are gonna be back on track after condo purchase, then.

 

My other main hope is that VolksUSA gets them like they've gotten Miku, but that may not preclude them being lottery. Which again, means I'll likely pass on them, even though they're totes adorbs.

 

On the upside, that does make me feel less guilty about wanting so many outfits from this Dolpa.

This is really quite disappointing news from Volks, especially with my flawless 0/13 losing streak for the International Lottery.

 

I am continually baffled that they seem to embrace their US resin fans with open arms (VolksUSA is having FCS in both June -and- July this year, and VolksUSA got the SD16 FCS last year), but their US DD fans? All, well, they can go *bleep* off unless it's a Miku, apparently?

 

If they're having problems with non-payment of pre-orders, then just make the pre-orders require full payment upfront; don't stop doing international pre-orders entirely.

 

And if Rin and Len aren't the pre-order, will we even have a pre-order this year? Or are they eliminating our one guaranteed route of getting a non-standard model? Just... very displeased, Volks. Very.

Volks isn't stupid, I'm pretty sure they'll have some crazy scheme lined up for International customers since this news gives JP customers some immediate-release perks.

And even if they don't make a special lengthy event for people outside Japan to get ahold of the twins, there will be more DD boys released and the secondhand market as usual.

Such dissapointment

I wanted to get Rin, but now it would be impossible, even if I won the lottery. (I'll need few months to recover, after paying for Snow Miku).

Well, what's left is to have hope that at some point they'll get regular pre-orders, or that price for Rin won't be too heavy on the aftermarket.
