pscindy_13 Posted July 4, 2016 That's why I pointed out in the other thread that we should email them and let our oppinions be heard. The way they responded they seemed to be at least open to hearing what customers have to say. ~Sister Kyoya Yup it's true. In the other thread I highlighted the most important part : " We will decide considering the response of our customers " So for those who truly want the boy type body to happen I strongly recommend to share your voice and (kindly) explain how much we have dreamed of this moment to come. If you want to, here is the email I used to contact them : Imos@volks.co.jp Good luck everyone~
mizya Posted July 5, 2016 Well, I sent a polite email to Volks explaining that I love Rin & Len and hope that they would consider offering them as a pre-order someday in the future. ;u; I don't know if that helps, but I suppose it can't hurt either... since they said that they want to hear their customers' response, after all. I still feel sad about them being lottery only. However, if this ends up being the only time that Volks will offer them, I'll just have to accept it. But hopefully they will get another release in the future, and preferably a pre-order, so that everyone who loves these two would have a better chance at getting them... ! GothicKDM Posted July 6, 2016 Ill enter for both of them but the thing that kinda makes me miffed is I have snow miku on preorder with VolksUSA, she isnt coming in until September. The lottery for the dolls is August-Sept with a delivery of October it looks like. So if i even win both (highly unlikely) and instead of it being a preorder like i had planned and through only made sense because they could actually test the market with how many ordered him -___- but of course....logic...Im going to have to pay for 3 dolls ontop of each other. Delfina Posted July 18, 2016 Does anyone know about the payment methods for Lin & Ren for those who attend Dolpa? Do they accept foreign credit cards? I would assume so, since many guests attend Dolpa from overseas, but since shipping is limited to within Japan I'm not sure if that changes things. Some advice from someone with experience would be reassuring.
foo Posted July 18, 2016 (edited) Does anyone know about the payment methods for Lin & Ren for those who attend Dolpa?Do they accept foreign credit cards? It should be fine. They're not picky, as long as it works with their machines. But it is harder for a foreigner to get a doll at Dolpa, last I heard it had to be cash on delivery, with a delivery address in Japan :/ I'm kind of surprised no one's brought this up, but wata1219 on Flickr has posted a bunch of pics, starting here in his photostream. Monty Posted July 18, 2016 Cash on delivery would mean you pay the delivery guy when they're shipped (ie in October), wasn't it payment upfront at the event? also aaaaaaaaah rin seriously looks more adorable with every new pic I see of her! ;-; There is a small glimmer of hope recently that I actually will have enough money to either a)attend this Dolpa or b)pay a friend to attend in my place, and I'll reimburse her shinkansen cost (as it would be a hell of a lot cheaper for her to get there by shinkansen from Tokyo than me from Fu kuoka) but its not confirmed yet. Luckily I'll definitely know for sure before the 30th, which is when they stop selling the guidebooks/tickets. I just wanted to clarify a few things in case it really does happen. a) It's a guarantee that going to the event will secure a Rin/Len, right? What I'm paranoid about is that they'll only have a limited number of preorder slots on the day and its firstcome/first served. Will every single person who goes to Dolpa with the intention to preorder be able to? I can't help being paranoid just because the release is not really that long after Dolpa and I know a LOT of people will be after them, so that's gonna be a whole load of dolls Volks has to make. Or maybe Volks have already got loads of them made already in anticipation of this. (Who knows, they might make so many of them that the lottery odds are actually good.) Try as I might I cannot find any actual confirmation on the site about this... b)If I go, it's 99% likely that I'll buy the guidebook/ticket in advance. If for some reason I'm not able to, can I still get a Rin if I buy a ticket on the day? I assume this just means I have to wait a lot longer to get in but it also depends on the above - ie if it really is first come first served, all slots could be gone by the time I get in. *twitter*instagram*art*
foo Posted July 18, 2016 Cash on delivery would mean you pay the delivery guy when they're shipped (ie in October), wasn't it payment upfront at the event? By "last I heard" was last time I heard about buying a doll at Dolpa since they introduced the new system, where you don't get to take a doll home with you. Rin/Len is a pre-order but since I'm not going I didn't bother looking into the details this time If you're uncertain about it, double-check in advance! Edit, checking machine translation it says it's fully pre-paid at the event, and delivery method is Volks Store or Home Shipping. That was irresponsible (-‸ლ)

I didn't see any asterisks with fine print that says there's a limited number. Only the "guaranteed order" part. b.) I tried reading Volks site and I'm not sure if you can get a ticket on the day, but the guidebook/entry ticket stock is low on their site which worries me. I'm also not sure if I can go so even though I feel it's best to buy those things in advance, it would suck to buy them and not be able to use them. I don't know... I haven't been to a Dolpa so their rules about lines and which line to stand in to buy what and the cutoff times for lining up really confuses me x.x. I guess I'll mail them to double check too. Why is it harder for a foreigner to get a doll D: ?
foo Posted July 18, 2016 It's just that In the past you would just take it home with you the day of, now you have to get it shipped to somewhere in Japan sometime after you've probably left. About the tickets, they ARE a limited quantity. Try to get them before the Dolpa. For the Kyoto Dolpa it was easy to get them from a Volks store (even though sold out online) or just show up at 10am (late entry), but I imagine this Dolpa is harder because it's bigger. Monty Posted July 18, 2016 Yikes, I just noticed the tickets and guidebooks arent in stock anymore. It says 'awaiting stock' so i wonder how many more they intend to add and when...? I'm not really sure what to do now D: I could ask my friend to check Akiba Doll Point for any but since I still don't know if can actually do this yet...(Not to mention I'm still not 100% sure how many Rin/Len preorders Volks intends to take on the day...) *twitter*instagram*art*

SakuraSylph Posted July 19, 2016 There is a limit of one copy per doll per person, but no limit is specified to the number of people that can place an order. I would doubt there'd be a limit, since the preorder is being advertised as an incentive to go to dolpa in person. If it were limited, they would be making it very clear upfront. It's better to get the guidebook in advance. It used to be that they would sell guidebooks day-of, and the penalty of waiting was the inability to join the lottery for new dolls. Now that entry requires only a ticket, and the guidebook is for all the extra events, there's no guarantee that books are sold at the venue at all - possibly just the entrance ticket. I left Japan before they migrated from the guidebook system to the current guidebook+ticket system, so I can't say for sure what they do nowadays. But to be safe, buy everything in advance. You would need the guidebook to preorder Rin/Len. SakuraSylph
Monty Posted July 20, 2016 (edited) EDIT: Volks restocked the guidebook and ticket: https://www.volks.co.jp/page_ex.jsp?CONTROLID=SC0040&BUSINESSID=InitDisp&jancd=4518992604381 https://www.volks.co.jp/page_ex.jsp?CONTROLID=SC0040&BUSINESSID=InitDisp&jancd=4518992604398 aaaaand I just bought them. I'm...I'm actually getting the guaranteed preorder Rin at RRP aaaaaah I'm so glad ;-; After recalculating my costs and realising that the shinkansen fee for my friend to get to Nagoya was less than half of what it would take for me to get to Nagoya, I realised I can afford Rin, and her shinkansen ticket. I felt guilty imposing on my friend like this but she's actually really excited to go to Dolpa! She's kind of just dipping her toe into doll stuff recently, although Dolpa might be throwing her in the deep end I fear. But it should be a great learning experience! Maybe just as well that it's best I save money by not going myself because i'm sure it would be unbelievably frustrating to be at Dolpa with no money (well, besides Rin-money). I'm hoping I'll be able to make the Tokyo Dolpa in December. SO as long as there's no unforeseen cirbleepstances (like Volks hilariously underestimating the demand for these and limiting the preorders, although if that happens I hope they just delay the release date instead), I no longer need to enter the lottery for myself and therefore I am completely willing to provide an entry for Rin and Len in the JP lottery on a first ask/first served basis. I'll let you know after August 7th whether it went smoothly or not but if anyone wants to claim a slot in advance just message me. (before anyone asks - unfortunately no I can't be a proxy for a Dolpa Len preorder even if you pay me in advance. Someone is already going to wire me money to get them Len and it's one Rin/Len per person.) Edited July 20, 2016 by Guest *twitter*instagram*art*
Delfina Posted July 20, 2016 If you're on their individual pages on the Japanese site (sorry >.< can't post links yet) the price does not include tax. Right now consumption tax is at 8%. The guidebooks and entry tickets went back in stock >.< I got them...just in case... But still not decided if I will go I'm really afraid to travel alone haha... Delfina Posted July 21, 2016 English pages and the lottery page are up / I'm so newb to this I don't get it. So you're allowed to enter the lottery 2x? Once on the website and once in person at the store? Or... once in person at the event (but... technically that's not a lottery?) and then once EITHER at the store OR online? @_@..?
Monty Posted July 21, 2016 It's one entry per doll per lottery pool. Usually there are three lottery pools - the Japanese one, the international one and the US one. JP you can't enter if you aren't in Japan, US you can't enter if you aren't in the US and INT you can't enter if you're in Japan. So assuming Volks USA does a lottery for these two (not announced yet I believe?) people in the US get double the shots. You can enter either through the physical stores (Japanese stores and I believe there are international ones too) OR online, not both. If you do both you may be disqualified. So no, you can't enter the lottery twice, unless you have another person entering for you, or unless you're in the US and Volks USA open a lottery. (Unless you meant both Rin AND Len by'2x', in which case yes, they are separate dolls so you can enter for both although apparently this does not guarantee you will win both, you may only win one.) Edit: as far as I know there no rule about not entering the lottery if you got a preorder one at Dolpa. Which admittedly makes me tempted to enter the lottery for Len but since it's mostly his body I'm after I'll just wait for it to be a standard. *twitter*instagram*art*
Delfina Posted July 21, 2016 Oh, ok. "Pools" make sense. So Japan physical store and Japan web lottery are the same "pool". But Dolpa is a different pool. This is what I was looking at >.<. *Please note that if you submit more than one entry at the same Volks Store or several stores, your entries will be counted as invalid.(We accept NO MORE than 2 applications each customer, considering the application at the Event's Special Booth and the application submitted at one of our stores across Japan or, alternatively, via web.) Please note that you cannot apply for the Lottery Event or pick up the item through “Mail Order (telephone order) System”. I didn't know Japan was blocked from the international lottery. Is that like by IP the way Volks USA blocks non North American IPs or can someone in Japan enter the international lottery with a foreign address?
Cauldroness Posted July 21, 2016 VolksUSA is actually open to all of North America, not just the US. So USA, Mexico, and Canada. However, VolksUSA only offers DD lottos as part of a special event (like the Rin Tohsaka lotto), thus usually there are only two lotto pools (Japan and International), not three. The days of VolksUSA reliably offering DD lottos are long past, so most North Americans only get the one shot (the International lotto). Doll Photos & Doll Jewelry Sales: Follow me on Instagram! Monty Posted July 21, 2016 Its not IP based. Volks USA only has the US/ Canada/Mexico as dropdown menu options when you order. (if it were IP based i wouldnt be able to view the site in Australia. Or does it block japanese IPs? that would be interesting) When i made a volks account i noticed on the japanese site you can select any nationality but only japanese shipping addresses. when you use the english version of the form it wont let you select japan even though its there, it just acts like you havent made a selection and makes you do it again. So if you're in japan you cant use the english version of the site to order. So volksusa is no longer reliable then? Thats a shame, i just assumed cos i remembered seeing posts about people entering both US and INT lotteries. Sorry for the misinformation! With how big Rin/Len are i hope they do end up offering a lottery for them so you guys can get a (slightly) better chance at them. *twitter*instagram*art*

I know the US site used to go invisible to all but North American users when the FCS was up (I'm not sure if it still does). I need Rin/Len so I'm going to enter the international lottery but I have never won one of these in all the years I've tried. I did manage to get a Kurumi from a clickwar after her first release but that is it.
