Been meaning to post here for a long time, but popping in to say I entered the lottery and one friend is entering for me, but I would be first in line to buy anyone's dolls if I lose both. I know I don't have feedback but I'm super good on my word (I'll call baldylox out on that). The twins are my all time loves and I simply must have them but aftermarket prices would kill me (too many other expenses right now).

I entered for Len! I hope that I can win, but I'm doubtful. I thought about entering for Rin as well, but I'm really only interested in Len and don't feel like having to do a trade or sell her or something!

Volks updated the release information for the Dolpa preorders plus some official event photos. Just like I thought, they got so many that they have to split them up.

 

Rins/Lens ordered before and up to 1:30pm get sent out on the original date, the 27th of August.

Rins/Lens ordered 1:31pm and after have to wait until the 24th of September to meet their new owners.

 

Those who got Nagoya preorders, check your receipts (or ask your proxy) what time you have! Luckily mine is 12:47.

 

Somewhere, someone with a 1:31 receipt must be crying a little inside...

If some are shipping Aug 27 and some are shipping Sept 24, does that mean they are making more dolls in between that time? I hope there will still be lots for the lottery ;_; I'd hate for our chances to go down.

It sounds like they'll start work on the lotto dolls *after* all the pre-order dolls are done... the lotto dolls won't start to ship until Oct. 29!!!

Now thru Aug 27: Manufacturing of Batch 1 of pre-order dolls

Aug 28 thru Sept 24: Manufacturing of Batch 2 of pre-order dolls

Sept 25 thru Oct 29: Manufacturing of lotto dolls

 

So hopefully the big pre-order numbers shouldn't mean there are fewer lotto dolls if they're on separate manufacturing runs... unless, of course, they were planning on manufacturing the lotto dolls between Aug 28 and Oct 29, in which case we've basically lost half the lotto quantity.

It sounds like they'll start work on the lotto dolls *after* all the pre-order dolls are done... the lotto dolls won't start to ship until Oct. 29!!!

Oh, i forgot to mention it in the last post but in the same blog post I linked Volks stated that the voting/nomination for Rin/Len outfits happened at Dolpa and the results will be announced at Magical Mirai next month (which is where the Rin/Len DDs themselves were originally announced). I imagine they'll have the Senbonzakura outfits on display then too.

I'm really looking forward to seeing owner pics of Rin & Len, I guess I might be getting a bit ahead of myself but I think the customs people will do will turn out great. I wonder if Luka will be next to get the DD treatment.

If by some chance that Luka would be next, I know one fanboy that would nearly have a heart attack. And no, it isn't Dolly. The evil Vocaloid overlord who is currently residing with us (Miku) would also leave no doubt if any further official Vocaloids would be joining the household. I already know the answer is yes. Even if by some reality-bending chance Volks did Meiko, the overlord has already spoken. (Personally for me she's way too similar in personality and looks, including body shape, to Dakota, but Meiko seems more slutty. I've thought about it but I'm still at a loss.)

Luka's got a decent chance of being made I think, although she'd probably only be lottery. Meiko and Kaito I wouldn't hold my breath. Especially not Kaito 8') (which doesnt bother me as I made my own, but hey, if Volks make one I'll buy him. Nothing wrong with two Kaitos.)

 

Anyway, I went to the Fu kuoka Volks store today to put in my lottery entry for Len as a backup for one of my fellow forum people, and I nearly did a spittake when I turned a corner in the store and came face to face with the dolls themselves. I knew they were going to be on display in some of the stores but I swear the Volks twitter said only in three select stores including Akiba Doll Point, and the Fu kuoka one definitely wasnt among them.

It was my first time seeing them in person, and because they werent even behind a glass screen I was able to see them as close as possible. And holy cow are they adorable in person. I know people say this about literally every DD but they're way cuter in person than the photos! I couldnt believe how cute they were. Especially cos they snuck up on me like that...

 

I took some pics of my own but they arent very good, I think I might have been shaking a bit;; Or I had my phone on some weird setting that I couldnt figure out how to reset until later.

I know these are pretty similar to ones we've seen a lot already, but anyway.

For some reason I didnt notice it at first but I like how they have brownish eyebrows instead of yellow; it means a lot of different wigs will suit them. Miku's default faceup is adorable and she looks great in different wigs too, but those green eyebrows kind of stand out.

That might have been such a surprise!

 

They look younger than usual here, Rin is so adorable but Len looks kind of sad? he's still super adorable!

I'm not familiar with the vocaloid characters but Luka seems like the type of character that would be a big hit as a DD, I love her long pink hair and blue eyes. I hope Kaito becomes a DD too because he seems to be older than the twins so that means that Volks would have to create a DD boy body for him and not put him on the DDS boy body. We'll see!

Nooooo my order was after the time, I guess I have to wait another month Q_Q I am so crazy excited to see owner pictures though. I hope someone does a box opening video at some point!

Rin is just so freaking adorable. If I could have managed to enter for both I would have. She's just so perfect. The color of her clothes not matching Len's is another issue, even though I know it matches the artwork reference. She just looks like everything that Rin should. Another girl going onto my wishlist. Half the time I contemplate getting her head and using it instead of the Snow Miku one I have. Just not sure how well the two would work together for the twins.

 

I really like Len's head a lot... just not for Len. I'm frankly afraid to think of ideas of what to do with it until I can actually see it myself. Like I need more ideas. And I surely hope no one would end up with more siblings. Our family is so complicated that Raven and my Sis can't even keep it straight at the moment. It would be totally evil of me to see how he would work as a girl... That's just so like me. *sigh*

 

Wait... he might work for Hunny from Ouran. OMG. I think both Tama and I are going to flip if it might work. It's the only way Tama would accept another MDD boy. I've already thought a lot about another Eiji for Mori. I can't believe there might be a real, but long term, possibility for me to have my Ouran DD.

OMFG SK. I think you're right--though I picture Hunny on the Obi45, so he'd be just a teeeny bit taller than Tama.

 

As for Mori, maybe instead of Eiji, it might be better to wait for the buff/beefcake body.

Has there been any more info on that body? Is Danny even going to do it? I'd buy it in a heartbeat for Mori because for me I've been bothered by working on Kyoya with no Mori. The rare ship, but I just can't fathom the Hunny/Mori ship. Too weird for me, like Tama and Lucas if lucas was on the Smart Doll boy boy body. I loved how the body looked for him, but even for my imagination it was too much of a stretch. Made Lucas seem like a creepy pedophile...

 

I just keep shaking my head over how hard I make my life. My characters not matching with the Volks head sculpt names... making it that I will have a Rin-Miku, Len-Miku, and now probibly a Hunny-Len. Add into that Dakota's sister who endd up with the same name as one of the Volks sculpts, but she's an 04 head... It makes my head hurt.

Thank you for those amazing pics, Torino! The ones I've seen so far are LQ so it was nice to see some clearer images. Oh my, I wasn't so sure I liked either one of them at first but they're both cute <_< Especially Rin.
