Kagamine Rin & Len & New Miku outfits!*pic updated*

I'm so, so, so, so happy to see such a flood of excellent news! So many of you are familiar faces and what I think of as my long-term forum friends I'm nearly crying from happiness. Had a hard time sleeping last night because I kept waking up thinking "Len...LEN!" I'm trying so hard to have the realty of this sink in. So far the only thing that is reconfirming it is seeing the payment link next to Len's listing in my Volks account. For weeks I had been trying to prepare myself for such a massive letdown when I didn't win, so I'm still feeling a bit disoriented.

 

I really can't wait to see the flood of twins on the foums! Part of me is utterly amused over the fact that they are twins, wondering how many families where they will act like twins. After having my Rainie and Ringo for so long, it's kinda different having a 'matched set' in that way. Also I'm excited to see the range of personalities they will take on within the various families.

 

As Raven said, at least this amount of wins it sounds like Rin won't be a beast to get ahold of in the aftermarket in 6 months or so. I really wish I could get her now as well since she's perfect and adorable. But in that way she's the easier of the two because there really isn't anything I'd change except her hair, but only because Len's hair is not what I wanted and will have to make him a new one in the right style. As for Len's default hair, I can't wait to see it on a few of our Kiddos, especially Tama.

...well that's just bizarre, because that's not what's on my page at all. The dates I posted arent just store orders, they're for web orders too.

Also:

Maybe they're making the international ones ship out earlier and the displayed date is IP-based??

(Even though I could have SWORN it was late October when I looked at the site back when I was still in Australia, and I remember this specifically because it meant I'd have one in time for my birthday mid-November, so that cant be it, unless it's just the US getting early shipments or something )

What page is that, if I can ask? Mine is from here https://www.volks.co.jp/rinlen/order_en/ and October 3rd isnt mentioned whatsoever, store or online.

 

What dates can other people see?? I'm seriously confused by this.

 

edit= Saw the page now, and now I'm just confused why they list two different dates on two different pages??? If the earlier date was only for the international entries then why would the later date be listed on the international page at all??? (let alone the MAIN page for Rin/Len??)

 

Your location says you are in Japan, so you'd have a different web payment date too. Japan web store has different dates and payment times than the international web store.

I discovered this when I lived in Japan. I used to think the Japanese site in English was the same as the international site in English but it isn't.

I'm actually really surprised at how many people were rooting for me. Much of the time I don't really think I'm all that remarkable, so it was a plesant surprise.

 

Now for the next month I'll have to be playing the mental game that many of our DD know about Len coming (Especially Miku, the little schemer, helped with encouragement from Ringo I'm sure...) but not Tamayuki or anyone with a big mouth. If I don't do mental puzzles like that, it's much harder for me to get proper reactions once I try to write the photo story dialog. And Len & Tama meeting is a story I've thought about for over 2 years now. Oh my gosh, I just realized how it could easily be added to the current storyline seamessly.

 

I'm trying so hard not to be daunted by and yet elated by the prospect of making Len's Project Diva outfits. And I already have the right body type for Rin so I don't have to wait until I have her to do those. And even photos in a 'dance studio' all I need to do is clear off the stage and add a ccouple of posters to the wall. Now to figure out the posters! This is TOO MUCH fun!!

Is it safe to asume that if we didn't get an e-mail at all we lost ;_;?

This is my first ever Volks lottery so things are still a bit confusing considering on the Volk's Page, "View Order Status" Rin still appears...

I'm quite nervous because I really wanted Rin! So if I didn't win I would want to contact those with extras as soon as possible ;_;

But I'm so happy to those who won, congratulations!

 

I found a handy post in this forum that it is more than likely that I didn't win...

So if anyone has an extra Rin please, please, tell me! I already got in contact with someone from another community but perhaps someone got there first, you never know. Thank you ;w;

Congrats on all the winners, I'm glad it worked out for everyone!

 

This morning I got an email from the proxy I ordered Len from saying he shipped too. Woo!

 

Did we order from the same people? LOL I received an email from my proxy a few seconds ago, Congrats to you too! =)

 

In case anyone doesn't want the male body, I need to get 2 more! (it doesn't hurt to ask lol)

 

Possibly haha I got it from Trickstar somethingorother on eBay. To my understanding they had one Rin and one Len?

Edit: just double checked the lottery info and people who entered in store get phone calls, not emails. Maybe they do all the web lotteries first then - and maybe that's why it continues till the 2nd, so they can call people on the weekend. After all, people gotta work...

At least for the Tachikawa store, they always called me on weekdays while I was at work, usually during early afternoon. They will leave a voice mail if needed. The usual message is that you can pick your doll up at the store starting on Saturday, which is why they call prior to the weekend.

 

Just in case Fu-kuoka does something similar for you.

It would be kinda stinky if they didn't. It's not like I'm itching to throw more money at Volks, I just want to be prepared for it if they do.

I didn't follow anything for Miku. What did they do for her hands? I'm interested in getting all the painted nails hands for Rin. Thanks!

They had a preorder for her fullset hands w/ painted nails. All of the hands came with their own wrist joints. SO NICE! I'd much perfer if Volks did that again for the twins, especially when Len comes with the large ver. hands, the same I use for my DDS/Obitsu hybrid boy (aka what I had to do before Len's body was announced.) I know that Lucas wouldn't use Len's hands and Len needs the yellow nails. But yet again Volks will do what Volks will do.

I'd like them to but at the same time I already got Rin more hands (plus the new wrist joints) ready figuring i'd paint them myself...I don't mind too much if they don't make them but honestly it's a bit annoying how many of the official pics have them clearly modeling painted hands that don't exist (yet)

 

No phone calls here yet... At this point I don't mind not winning, it would be great if Rin could see her dumb brother but not winning just means I have more money to throw at the MDD I'm making which would be put on hold if I get Len (also trying to decide if I should get one of the tan D'Coord girls...)

Sadly I did not win either and my extra entries for Rin all lost as well. I was able to get an extra Len off someone so I'm currently looking for someone's extra Rin. And here's a random question: If we go through all this and then in a few weeks Volks e-mails people again about "extra winners" (due to cancellations) would a person get their account banned if they don't pay?

I've been offered a Len within Fu kuoka (hurray for no shipping) from one of the doll group members who won't be able to afford him, so that solves my dilemma of having to tearfully part with one if I do win now that I know the person I entered as a backup for didn't get him. Still a few more days left - looking at Twitter some more people got calls today. Still no discernible pattern.

It's cool I don't have to worry about whether -I- get a Len or not now but I do kinda wanna know what my lottery luck is like!

That would be disturbing indeed! I haven't thought about it but I do think that would be the case and I hope I'm wrong. That'd be a jerk move for Volks. I don't think they should ban people for that, they didn't win initially. They might've given up or spent the money for something else. Volks shouldn't appear out of nowhere after days and say "Hey know what, the other person cancelled this item, so you can pay for it now.". I know for sure this would benefit some people, but it'd cause more loss.

 

Instead of doing that, I think clickwar is a better idea.

I did not win the lottery so I actually found a person who won extra to buy through. If Volks was to turn around a few days from now and say "Congrats you won because someone else did not pay!" I would be very unhappy. There is no way I would be able to buy another doll right now.

Honestly, I am borderline praying that they wait a month or two and then either send the unpaid for dolls to VolksUSA for another lottery, or a click war. I would be able to re-buildup money to get the other sibling if Volks did that in a few months.

 

This is my first lottery though so I am still learning Volks procedures and do not know if this is realistic. I am mostly a resin BJD collector that has watched Volks from the sidelines until the Vocaloids.

 

Instead of doing that, I think clickwar is a better idea.

 

Click war seems to be the norm. They did a second lottery draw for Mio Honda, but in her case they stated in the announcement that they had ended up with a large number of unclaimed dolls. I would think the same rules apply as far as the commitment to buy goes.
