Kagamine Rin & Len & New Miku outfits!*pic updated*

My len just left the Tokyo dispatch office!

My Len, after much headache with wrong addresses, is out of customs now and almost to me.

 

The seller apparently wrote a different address in my name line instead xD

 

I also just upgraded my phone which has a way better camera (my poor dslr broke) so prepare for so much picture spam you guys. PREPARE! If anyone wants to request any specifics throw it at me. I also have a Miku if that helps. And I'm happy to take up close shots or posing shots too since it's a new body.

 

I'm glad he's nearly home!

I wanna see lots of pics regardless of course, but out of all the owner pics i've seen on twitter the thing thats lacking mostly is pics of him with other DDs (who arent Rin or Miku). I really want to see how he looks standing with them, so for everyone getting Len, that's my request. harem pics

Bonus points if you have Sheryl. (I know Sister Kyoya has a Sheryl head but I dont know how many other people do who are also getting Len.)

It was successfully intercepted though so I'm not worried. My delivery day was supposed to be today, but I was at the doctor and missed it. I'm going to lose my mind.

I don't have a Sheryl, sorry! I have a Miku on a sister body and a Mariko Senei. When I go to Japan in a month I'm planning to pick up another DD and maybe bring him along for some shots. I can compare him to my Mariko too in size and stuff.

AH I managed to find him and pick him up before the post office closed!!

(A little detail in the titles)

 

Good things:

-He definitely looks like a boy. I was afraid his thighs and legs would be too round and feminine but they aren't at all and it's great

-His wig is soooooo much softer than it looks. It has some product in it but it's not crunchy and the rest of it is super soft and very shiny. It's a similar material to the Senbonzakura wig and Snow Miky wig.

-His feet and hands so far are the same so that's.... handy *ba dum ugh*

-He is cute. So cute.

-His clothes are all white lined!

-OH MY GOD he bends. So well! I've never seen anything quite like this. I don't know if it's the different skeleton thing, the different shape or if it was done on purpose but this guy can become a pretzel easily. Which is perfect for some more typical "boy playing" shots I plan on doing outside some time. Maybe it's the all new collapsible DD! Just fold him up and stick him in your pose and go! xD

 

Not awesome things:

-His body is LOSE AS F. His middle piece is broken (in Flickr)? Or not put together all the way. Every single put together piece he has like the middle, the feet and arms (in all three places) just practically fall out. An easy fix though, I'll juts get some nail polish, but it was discouraging. I like the tight new DD bodies that I have to "break in" but he is nowhere near that. On top of that his cap was on backwards too. For how much money I spent on this I would expect him to feel a little more like it right out of the box, but eh. Easy fix.

-No extra pose hands like Miku had automatically. Whhhhyyyyyyy

-His clothes are pretty well made, though they look obviously rushed to me. Some strings where they shouldn't be an uneven lines. Luckily nothing you can see outside though. The clothes are otherwise gorgeous.

 

Overall I'm in love and I can't wait to shell him. I may or may not keep his default clothes a little longer. I don't know. He looks adorable in them I'm just so happy. The wig I bought for him definitely doesn't fit his balloon head haha, so time to go shopping again!

It looks like their shoulders are the same height, I think he just has a really big head

Congrats and thanks for the report, koolgalblue!! I'm a little anxious about his body now. You said he was super bendy, but he was also broken or not put together.

 

I have DD bodies that were brand new and still have a loose foot. I'll just have to see how mine is when he gets here.

 

I love Volks' resin SD, SD13 and SDGr boy body sculpts, I hope that Len compares nicely to them.

EDIT: I just nail polished everything and it's working a lot better now. His pieces also sit way closer together, but we will see after I start playing with him

Even if it is I wouldn't worry about it. It's generally a very easy fix ^^ I'm currently working on mine now.

At least the fixes aren't hard...

Thank you for letting us know the pros and cons, I'll be receiving him this week (hopefully) and I will compare him with my other boys. I have 3 DDS bodies and never had a problem with loose joints or backwards caps. :/

littlebirdzoom: ooh but you're right! we ordered through the same person (trickstar) I'm counting the minutes till I see him because I feel so nervous now! like I won't believe he's mine until I have him in my hands. Yes, I have plans for my Len but it will take a while until I finish him because his wig is not even here, I still need to come up with a name too.

 

He is indeed a heart stealer!! somehow he became 1000x cuter with that brown wig!

 

Btw, the body looks like it poses like a dream! Is it me or are his shoulders narrower than Miku's? is Miku on a DDS body? he just looks so slender, petite and super cute!

Jazijaz: Oh! Okay, so I just doubted myself haha. That's extra strange then. And yeah I'm in the same boat with the character thing. Slowly getting some things down, but he needs more clothes and stuff before that happens that's for sure.

 

Thank you!! And it DOEs pose like a dream I was shocked when I was bending him! I just measured the width on both of them and it's the exact same. It does look more narrow though. Maybe because it doesn't have the same curve. Miku is on a DDS body! I'm a little obsessed with the sister bodies, they're just so perfect.

 

I really admire how Volks achieved the slender look for Len though. Like I said, he just looks very much like a boy. They did such a good job. His chest and collar are beautiful and he a has a little line bump between his upper breast like you see on a lot of more muscular male sculpts in say resin haha. The little bit of muscle on his stomach is strange, but I'm not complaining. They made the sister bodies very mature, I feel like they made a good balance with him too.

I'm glad to see that Volks didn't disappoint with the male DDS body. In my opinion, Volks has the best resin bodies! I love the SD17 and SDGr bodies so much, they're lean and elegant! (I'm not a fan of bulky bodies) it seems they did the same with the DDS boy body!

Anyhoo, thanks for the pics. It's interesting to know about the posability. After having to deal with uber loose joints with Tama for so many years, I do have to say that super glue is more durable than nail polish. Either way you need to make 200% sure that all the pieces are dried before reassembling. This happened once with Tama when I thought the super glue was dry and put his arm back together... took me 3 months to get it unstuck and it may have contributed to the same arm snapping later on. In my experiance the nail polish wears off pretty quickly if the joints are repositioned a lot. Also if the added super glue is too thick, it can be sanded down to fit right. Nail polish does not sand well.

Congrats on getting your Len home, littlebirdzoom! And thank you for the photos and your review, I'm so curious about the boy body so it's nice to have more info. I was so happy when Volks unveiled the body and it was a nice, slim & boyish type... but then again, even with their resin dolls Volks still keeps producing the slimmer boys, too, and hasn't turned all of their male doll lines into these bodybuilder types. That's what really frustrates me about the resin side of the hobby right now, you can only get these bulky & super ripped male bodies. A slimmer and non-muscular one? Not a chance. =__= I like it if guys have a bit of abs and some muscle definition on arms & legs but those really muscular & veiny male bodies are not my thing at all. ~__~;; A decade ago I had no problems finding both male and female bodies that I liked...

 

I love comparisons so when I get my Rin & Len, I'll definitely compare them to Mariko and Sheryl (and DDH-06 from basic heads). :3 And I'll of course see my friends at some point, so I can take photos with Miku, Kirika, DDH-07, DDH-09 and Lucy Maria Misora, as well.

Although it's sad to hear about the looseness. Rin didnt have a problem like that at all - like I said the only problem I had was with her ribbon, so I'm wondering if it's an issue with the new boy body or if your Len was just unlucky.

 

Brown hair really is super cute on him

 

I have been impressed by how well Rin poses but to be honest I have no idea if its better than usual for a DD since she's my first one after all. She was more flexible than I expected but I assumed that was just a DD thing, so it's cool if they've improved that somehow for these two/for future dolls.

The wig is from Taobao and the bow is from Hot Topic. And I'm trying to sell it if you're interested

 

Torino: I'm sure Rin's body is the same as all the other DDS bodies unless they put a new mechanism inside it. I had the regular DD3 body for a while and when I got my first DDS body I fell so in love with it that I replaced all the DD3 bodies I had with the sister body. They both do similar things, but the DDS body bends and poses so well. I was very impressed how easily I could achieve those typical anime girl poses.

 

I think for your first you definitely chose a good one ;p

 

mizya: I love my buff resin boys and I definitely have some ridiculous ones (resin is my primary doll hobby corner) but I totally agree. I have some slimmer characters I want to work out and just realized how nearly impossible it is to find a good, slim build without exaggerated or made up muscle groups or just beefy.

 

galatia9: I am not well informed on the boy body other than it exists and stuff. But they said it had the same, but I could have swore it looked different. Of course, I could just be losing my mind a little. I probably am. It's probably the same lol

 

 

Side note, I think Len won the "who is coming with me to Japan in November" contest. Sorry Miku, sorry Mariko. We'll see.
