Kagamine Rin & Len & New Miku outfits!*pic updated*

Len shipped out a while ago and according to tracking he's on his way to the U.S. right now, and Rin shipped last night, tracking is blank on her atm though. My last name starts with L. There's literally no reason. It's purely random.

It's official. I think the order that they are shipping is the order the entries were drawn in. Meaning we have no way of really figuring it out. My last name also starts with an L... and Len is still listed as 'order confirmed.' If it wasn't for me checking on my account 5+ times a day, I would have thought that I imagined it all. I just wish that every time I didn't have my eyes jump to the 'shipped' entry when I ordered Tama's new body only to realize it's not Len.

 

Well, back to work I guess...

I was hoping to be able to take some better photos today but the weather remains gloomy, so sadly I couldn't. :/ Hopefully it'll clear up by the time my friend Petunia comes for a visit with her DD Miku, so that we can take some group shots of our Vocaloids~

That will be so much FUN!!

 

Wow, wouldn't it be something to see all four current vocaloids together? Miku, Rin, Len and Snow Miku??

@mizya: Your photos are so gorgeous! Thanks for the tip on Rin's ribbon, I knew there was a simpler solution I was too dumb to figure out

 

Unfortunately it looks like the lottery wigs really are lower quality but at least it's not a difficult fix, and your Rin looks beautiful after. I love how you styled Len's hair too. I need to do that a bit more.

 

It's funny you should mention that you think Len would make a great tsundere as my Len will be my very tsundere OC, although even when he's being Len he's tsundereness is coming out. I have the eyes I need now but the wig still isn't here

I'm glad you guys got your shipping notices!

 

I got My Len today! I want to make a post showing him with different eyes and wigs, but I need to take more photos and prep them and stuff.

Just got my shipping notice today as well! So glad so many others did also!

I got my shipping notices for both of the twins about 3 hours ago! There is currently no information on their tracking, but it's a huge comfort to know they are officially shipped and on their way.

Rin arrived today, but with the box in this condition.

 

I guess I'm suppose to deal with USPS now, but I don't really need the hassle. I'd be satisfied if Volks could just send an empty box.

 

Of my other seven DD's & I've only had maybe two boxes arrive with very minor crush damage to the box inside.

 

This is new I notice that the bag with her clothing has a Made In China sticker. Is this a first? I thought they were made in one of those Southeast Asian countries before.

 

Rin arrived today, but with the box in this condition.

Ouch, yeah you should report that to your local postmaster. That is completely unacceptable handling of a package. Although hardly anything gets done about it, they always blame it on the "flight".

My Rin arrived yesterday! I've never gotten a package from Japan so fast before, it was a great surprise

 

 

Her faceup is kind of messy- I'm going to wipe it so no issue for me, but you may want to check carefully if this kind of painting is a problem for you.

 

Of course her twin is still hanging around in Osaka, that slacker

youth, Congrats on Rin! Oh no, I'm really sorry to hear that the box got damaged. T__T I hope that you will receive some kind of compensation for it, at least, if not a new box! That's weird about the Made in China sticker, though, neither of my twins' clothes bags had a sticker like that. The clothes themselves have Volks tags in them as usual.

 

jadepixel, Congratulations on Rin's arrival! She looks really cute with this styling, I can't wait to see how you will paint her! My Len's face up had some grainy spots as well, but I didn't notice any problems with Rin.

 

They look amazing and your photos are great. I read your box opening. You're not the only one who had to much wax in Rin's hair and it was nice to see the pics and story on how you resolved it. Thank you for also showing a pic of how you worked with her now and headphones! I was worried after watching Torino's video that we'd all have really large gaps.

Yeah, I saw here that there was discussion about Rin's wig, so when I got mine and noticed her wig had the same problem, I thought that I'd dobleepent it in case it would be helpful for others to see a way to fix the issue. When I first took the wig out of the package and put it on Rin's head & then compared to the instruction leaflet by Volks, I felt like I'm never gonna get it to look like that. xD;;; But luckily combing and warm water helped, after all! I do wonder why they put so much wax on it in the first place, though... x__x

 

And congrats on getting your shipping notice, finally! I hope that Rin reaches you soon. ^^

Yup, it sure was! ^^ Sadly the weather wasn't on our side, so we didn't get too many photos, but I have a couple that I posted into my blog: here. We will have to try again another day, although my twins will no longer be in their full default looks as I'm currently repainting them. But I'm trying to keep their looks close to Rin & Len, just put my own spin on their face ups and make them a bit softer, like I've done with my other DDs.

Thank you so much! Haha, yeah, the bow was so floppy that it wouldn't stay up at all, so I kept fiddling with it to see if there was a way to deal with it without having to redo the entire attachment. Luckily I eventually figured it out. Although, now that I've taken off the headphones a couple of times when I was testing out wigs, I noticed that the satin ribbon where the snap is sewn has started fraying and it's become loose so the bow started flopping again. -__- It looks like I'll have to redo the whole thing after all, before it comes fully apart. It's strange to me why Volks thought that placing the snap under the headphones would be a good idea because it doesn't work at all. x__x;;

 

It's too bad about the wigs being lower quality, but I suppose it was to be expected since there were so many winners. They have less time to dedicate on finishing each doll when there are so many of them to ship out... but well, thankfully the issues were relatively easy to fix, and Rin's wig definitely looks better now. I still need to cut Len's wig a bit from the sides because it's sooo poofy whenever he's not wearing his headphones, lol! XD

 

Oohh, I'm really looking forward to seeing your tsundere boy! >u< I do like that they made his sculpt so that when customised, you can easily go both ways; either paint a smile for him or then make him more frowny. Tsundere boys are so cute, I have a huge struggle going on now that I'm painting my Len, the temptation is great... :'D But I want him to be able to pull off Len's look in the future as well, and in my mind Len has always been a cheerful boy so I must paint a smile for him, haha~ But I'm definitely hoping to see some frowny customs of Len!

And just now I realised that I completely forgot to compare them with my DDH-06 head, d'ohh! I forget I have her because she doesn't have a body of her own (nor one to borrow because she's white skin). ^^;; But yeah, the twins have bigger heads and larger faces than my Sheryl & Mariko, so they look a lot younger. I was expecting them to have bigger heads, but it was a bit surprising to see how their faces are so much bigger too ahah. xD;; But well, after the initial surprise, I'm okay with it. Obviously the twins look good together and then Sheryl & Mariko go well together, so no one is left as the odd one out, at least. :'D

 

Aaand then I have photos of the twins after I switched their eyes. Len is wearing Lizanna Stardust Sapphire in 22mm and Rin has the same eyes in 24mm:

And yikes, the wigs are one thing but the fact that jadepixel got kinda sloppy makeup on top of that seems pretty slack I really hope Volks don't rush things this much again.

And I have my boyish 07 head that's definitely going to try out Len's bod when he arrives.

So my guess is that the two troublemakers will get seperated in either Portland or Spokane. Best not to leave those two together too long.

So my twins touched down at the international airport about 45 minutes from my house, then detoured all the way to Chicago for imports!

 

No, kiddos! That's the wrong direction!

Good news is Len arrived! Bad news is his keytar broke when I tried to put the strap on on the one side... I already emailed volks about it and am hoping for a good response. I'm really not sure I can fix it since with the small surface area epoxy or other kinds of glue won't have much to hold on to...

 

In other news Rin has been held up in customs in Cali for a couple days now. Either she's just visiting or she tried to smuggle something in. Not sure which it is and I doubt she'll tell.

 

Well here's little Len-Len

 

His wig is a little heavy on the styling creme but not to the point where it's an issue. His ponytail is rock hard but honestly, I don't mind. The shape is like a banana and that suits him well.
