Kagamine Rin & Len & New Miku outfits!*pic updated*

I was never a big fan of Rin in general because most people seem to like her when she's being a brat/mean (I hate servant of evil)

 

See, I always pictured most "story" Vocaloid songs as the Vocaloids being "cast" in the roles, like actors--and in the case of Daughter and Servant of Evil, Rin's hamming it up because let's be honest, villains are fun to play even when you aren't evil yourself, and often get the best songs.

 

Tbh I thought the same thing- Especially after watching the "End Night" series. Although, I generally think of songwriters as kinda like authors of stories and performers are storytellers, as songs can tell stories (madeup and real) but with beats, rhythmns, etc. But different strokes, different folks as they say.

Wow, in my eyes they look so true to the character. I think Volks did a really great job on these two! Rin is awfully cute but I don't think I'll get her.

Ohhhh, they're both so cute! Gah, I have to keep myself from trying to get Len just for his body!

 

If I got Len to keep as Len...then that would mean I also have to get Rin(And then for completion's sake...Miku.) And that would probably kill my wallet, raise it from the dead, and then would kill it again.

 

I'm so happy to see the first male DD though!! So exciting! I hope they sell the body separate one day so my younger DDH-06 boy can be a full DD instead of a hybrid!

They both look beautiful!! I love their head sculpts.

That's what I'm hoping for! to be able to get the separate male DDS bodies for my Momo and Miku. Only my DDH-07 would keep his 60cm obitsu body because he must be taller than the other two. A male DD body similar to the resin Volks SDGr body would be *another* dream come true!

 

I agree with those who think the Len mold looks like Miku, it may not be the same mold but they're similar. I'm saving right now for this boy! I hope it is not a lottery or else I'm screwed T_T

Ahhhhhh!!! Oh my gosh I love them!! I agree that I think they look similar to Miku, but tbh I think this particular mold is good for them. To me they look like they popped straight out of a Project Diva game! *creepily touches my Miku's face*

 

I honestly can't decide which one I would rather get. I love Rin but I want a chance at having more vinyl and anime style boys. I guess if it's a pre-order I would have to choose and add the other to my grail list. *sighs*

I'm really looking forward to seeing the DDS boy type body - do you guys think they might release this as a basic in the future?

Else I'll probably need to split off Len's head (if this is even a pre-order - my lottery luck isn't that great ).

That's a valid question! I assume he'll just have a small bulge, like Smartdoll Eiji has...

Even if they were they same mold, kinda makes sense... They are twins after all.

Well, I am interested! I hope they let us put them on one order like they did Miku, so I can get them both!

If they aren't preorders, Volks is making a huge ass mistake. Just my 2¢.

If the Mikus/Snow Mikus are anything to go by, pre-orders for Vocaloids = License to print your own money. When you can easily sell as many as you can make, it hardly makes sense to restrict yourself. Unlike some characters, there's really no reason to artificially inflate demand by limiting them.

Other things of note:

*It looks like Rin comes with a mic and Len comes with a keytar. That's actually just like their figma releases.

*Maybe its because of the keytar or 'boy body tax' (likely the keytar) but Len costs more than Rin.

The text is small BUT I can just make out, at the top of the page with both rin/len posing together, in yellow text, 'Hometown Dollpa Nagoya 6' and 'Kagamine Rin/Len PREORDER -something-'. Apparently HTD Nagoya is August 7th soooo around then?

 

And I'm sooo glad to see pics of the boys body ;-; I hope they sell it separate ASAP. I'll be able to shell the two main characters of my webcomic since one can have the smart doll body and the other this one - the height difference will be perfect. Although I'll still wait for comparison pics once Len is out.

Howwlinggg!!! That's a nice shota body! DDS in general looks like teen/high school girl body but when they make a male type the body doesn't look at all like a high a school boy. He's very eligible for the 11-14 shota category. Suits Len sooooo getting him. He'll be my girls perfect lil bro

Rin has painted nails! As expected but good to know. Didn't even think about Len hving his keytar. Not surprised that it looks like he uses standard DDS arms & hands but I was hoping for a slightly different sculpt on the upper arms. His bust piece looks like it was designed along the lines of the Obitsu 'pudding bust.' I don't expect Len to be buff or anything, I just hope it has a tad more detail in person.

 

Nitpicking aside, I'M THRILLED!

But please someone tell me this is not true. >_>; Aside from the HUGE price gap between the two, I'm also worried about the custom and the aftermarket price if I couldn't manage to get him directly from Volks.

I know a bunch of people posted at once, but just to say again, preorder confirmed. It's one of the parts of the scan that is actually big enough to be legible (if you can read japanese I mean). I bolded it so it would stand out more but I expect it'll get buried pretty quick, oh well.

 

anyway I almost forgot to say, so uh, hey all you guys on certain other websites and in general saying that Volks wont ever make a boy DD and we should 'stop hoping and give up already cos its not happening, dont you understand the demographic for DDs'? (their words, not mine) Got some mustard, maybe some nice relish? Might make your hats taste a bit nicer, just sayin.

 

EDIT- Another thing, on the page with the boy body shown in detail, they call it 'DDS Base Body 'Boy Type''.

If 'Base Body' means it will be sold on its own eventually (and I really hope it is), I wonder if we'll get a new DD Standard character?

Standard character boy? Oh gods I'm in trouble! LOL!

 

So just to put the numbers out there, here's my current calculation for the cost of both (I live in the USA) based on what we have paid for the Snow Mikus:

 

Rin & Len: $1,315.00

Shipping: $100

Fees: $75 (our credit card charges 3%)

 

Fullsets= $1,490 (based on the current exchange rate)

 

WITH fullset hands: $1,800 w/ shipping and fees added in based on what we aproximately paid for Miku's. (That's one expensive manicure!)

Goodness, they look fantastic! Personally I think they could have gone with a more neutral eyeshadow shade but the yellow does keep it consistent with Miku. xD

 

I really hope Volks would sell Len's body separately eventually--a DDS boy(I also think DD brother would be better than calling him a dollfie dream sister -boy type- lol) would be an adorable height when paired up with the 50cm obitsus. Not too same-y like like the 55cms, and not towering like Eiji and other 1/3 boys.

 

I hope this means that more DD guys matching the regular DDs, or just more body variety in general, are fair game now too! I'm a huge fan of Idolmaster SideM so there's definitely that if they want to stick with a familiar and reliable series. It's unlikely to happen anytime soon because the guys are still small fries compared to the imas girls, but the very possibily makes me so excited!

I'm just gunna sit and wait to see if they bring our a DD guy (not DDS) since i need a boy to e taller then Error since shes so short XD
