Although if that's the case, now that they've changed their character designs on the V4X box art a bit, my question is will it reflect the old box art or the new one since all we've seen is an announcement and not promo images of the final dolls, preorder information and all that jazz?

Actually Miku's V3 (also with new design by iXimia) was released September 26, 2013, and the pre-order period for Miku opened September 28th, 2013 (･･')

True, it would be logical but a little odd as I think the designs weren't announced too long ago? (The earliest I saw them was a few weeks ago, but I'm not as informed in Vocaloids as I used to be so they could've been announced earlier than that for all I know) And they did take some liberties and foo does have a point on how Snow Miku used the 2011 design instead of the 2015 design. So idk, I'm interested how they decide do it.

I'd be VERY surprised (and maybe a little disappointed) if it's not their classic outfits. Miku's DD outfit is her classic one and not her v3 one after all.

 

I'm hoping that no new is good news and they're really putting in the effort for them. I do hope they don't just look like reskinned Mikus, new bodies or not.

Also hoping they release a bunch of their Project Diva outfits like they are for Miku, besides just the Senbonzakura ones! I don't own Miku but I do want to get the ribbon girl outfit as its one of my favourites, I'd probably put it on Rin...which is why I hope we get some info about their bodies before the preorder for that outfit goes up.

edit- Rin/Len's birthday is December 28th, and the Miku DD was first unveiled on August 30th, one day before her birthday. I think them being unveiled next month will have more to do with the birthdate than the v3 release, but that's just me. ...I hope its sooner cos thats just under a whole month away

From that picture I noticed that Len looks kind of similar to my Miku (completely unintentional, didn't even know who Len was before looking at this thread). Hopefully Volks will not derp it(make a boy body Volks!) and the face will be very different to Miku's or else, I'm completely safe!

UGH! Tell me about it. This is the one thing that really annoys me about Lucas' body. Good thing he likes wearing baggy clothes that hide it.

Exactly! my boys also wear baggy shirts and the SD13/17 pants hide the girly hips well enough but if Volks comes out with DD boy bodies, I will have to invest on those because I want them to be 100% boys

I never noticed it before, but you're right, Len looks really similar to Miku in that pic! Funny thing was, the faceup was the one think that I didn't like about Miku when the first promo pics were released. After I saw owner pics, it looked so much better! I know Volks is known for pics that don't do justice to their dolls, but this was the first time it'd happened to me--in the past, I'd always been able to tell if I'd like a doll or not based on the promo pics--so I was really surprised.

 

I also hope that they don't look exactly like Miku, but considering they come from the same series and their box art is illustrated by the same person, it's probable that they'll look similar. And since it was the original box art I fell in love with , here's hoping that they look closer to that than the new illustrations.

I think I'm missing something... In iXima's art of the twons used there, is that the V3 outfits? Because looking at them, they don't look as nice as the original outfits to me :u

As much as I dont want to bump this thread to give people false hope that there has been an update (I know my heart jumps whenever I get a reply notification in this thread;, I'm hoping something will come up at the snow festival in Sapporo, which is from the 5th until the 11th of this month. Volks are already set to have a booth there displaying Snow Miku (as well as reopening the lottery for original Miku) so maaaaaybe they'll be displaying two certain other vocaloids too

EDIT- There's also Wonderfest on the 7th, but have Volks ever done announcements/displayed stuff there?

I just hope we hear something soon, this has been aggravating.

I'm not really into boy BJD's, but I lie if I say I'm not curious about how he's gonna look like. I guess he's getting a whole new DD line, maybe... or an exclusive piece as it was for tan Kan'u.

Anyway I think we need to wait a lot, since it looked like they are both pre-order dolls. This means that we are having a veeery long wait before we can grab one.

I seriously hope that when they announce them officially they have some showing of what Len's body will look like if they did anything different.

I'm used to the wait of preorders and have done them for a few years now. The thing that's driving me batty is the lack of any information, pics, a single word from Volks that they are even working on this other than the teaser pic. I don't like feeling like I'm stuck with not knowing what's going on so I can't even decide if I need to save for them, or even what to decide to do with the Snow Mikus I preordered for essentially the same project. (Yes I am aware that is my own fault, not Volk's.) I'm just so very, very frustrated not knowing if I'll end up buying 4 DD for the 2 characters I want with bits leftover that I'll have to go and sell off later.

 

I just wanna hear something.

I've also been itching for news on Len in particular. I've wanted a boy for some time and how Len looks will decide if I go for him or get Smart Doll Eiji(who I'm still trying to warm up to tbh). It could also change who I decide to make my boy into. Long story short, I gotta see Len!!! XD

 

As for when they'll be shown, I was really hoping for an announcement on their birthdays back in December, but that has already passed. The Snow festival gives us decent chances too--especially since DD Miku will be involved. Wonderfestival gives us a pretty good chance too since Volks has shown stuff there before. Azone does too, but doll news usually comes at the end since there's so much more figure stuff. But even though Volks has shown stuff there before, I wonder if they won't wait for a more doll centric event to showcase something so different like a male DD or even just new dolls.
