Anyone want to vote on which DD would be a good match for these My Little Ponies:

I think the 'droopy eyed' 03 option head would work great for Fluttershy! 06/Reimu for Twilight Sparkle~

You know I've been plotting to get my BF a DD to be Rarity because he loves ponies and anime gals.

 

HDD-02 in white would make a good Rarity for sure. ^^ I think HDD-04 with be good for Pinkie Pie, always smiles! HDD-03 would be good for Fluttershy, definitely. Maybe HDD-02 for Rainbow Dash? I just think the 02 head looks a tad more serious. Applejack could really be any head( though I personally think AppleJack should be a DDdy.)

In regards to Mari, I was mostly going off the mouth/eye shape; she probably would need a new faceup to really feel like Rainbow. Actually, for maximum-pony-age, most of them would probably benefit from a custom faceup to do the job, if you were really making them the pony rather than having them just cosplay the pony.

 

You know what's weird? I almost listed Tamaki as my maybe-Rarity! At the last second I thought it was maybe an odd choice, though Tamaki was my gut reaction.

What's even funnier there is that if I could afford Alter, she probably would end up lunar themed in my hooves.

 

Ooh, speaking of hooves, who would make a good Derpy? Maybe the 04 head, since the eyeholes are huge for maximum derp-age.

 

Personally I think Maya/Marya would make a great Fluttershy, though the 03 would also be effective (and far more affordable).

 

As for Pinkie. . . Marisa or Airy. For me, I just get a perky Pinkie vibe from the kitty mouth, like there's always some joke they're trying so hard not to laugh at, and are just failing miserably and are going to cackle like mad any second.

I love her with curly pink hair! She makes me think of Pinkie Pie, but I still like Marisa for her.

That wig would make a great Pinkie wig! Especially for Gala-Pinkie with her hair up and the widdle pillbox hat. And it's probably easier to find than one other wig I would consider for Pinkie, which would be MDD Louise's.

 

Gotta get around to Photoshopping Marisa into Pinkie. You know, for science. I might try doing the same with Tamaki-into-Rarity, just out of curiosity to see how it goes.

I figure a small sample size is easier to start out with. You are right that there are tons of ponies out there. I have a lot of them even from decades ago.

True! There's even a few ponies that aren't in that image, like Photo Finish and Sapphire Shores. (I have this odd soft spot for Photo Finish and her dramatic love of "Za MAGICKS.")

Though the talk of minor ponies is kind of making me wish that 65cm Obitsu dude was out already, because it'd be great bait for a Big Macintosh custom.

So, yesterday I found out there's a new Super Ponybeat, all about

, and that got me thinking about dollifying him, too. Granted, he'd either have to be a) not a DD or b) subject to a gender change for an actual character representation, but I think a Discord cosplay could be pretty dayum epic. Maybe Saber Alter could pull it off. . .or at very least, her eyes cold be used in another head to great effect. Tamaki or SQ Labs Ayumi may also be good head mold candidates, because between the :3 and the bedroom eyes they do look pretty sly.

It's official... my Boyfriend is getting a DD white Rarity for Christmas, and I'm getting a DD white Vinyl Scratch.

Planned to use Option Head 2 for Rarity and Option Head 3 for Pon-3, and ordering custom pony eyes from Ersa Flora and custom wigs from Happy Camille. Yes I'll be sure to post plenty of pictures of them. My DD family will just keep growing. ^^ Poor Haru will get her body super soon though, I'm already saving up for it. ^^

After a bit more debating with the BF, he's thinking of just going ahead and getting 4 pony gals for Christmas: Rarity (white DDII Option 2 head), Derpy (normal DDII Option 4 head), Vinyl Scratch (white DDII Option 3 head), and Octavia (normal DDII, Option 2 head)

 

He's a big Derpy fan, and a big Rarity fan( Rarity is his favorite) so those two are technically his (I will still probably snatch them away for photostories though.) While Vinyl and Octavia are my two girls. ^^ They'll get proper Japanese names like all my girls, but I have a feeling they'll be called by their nicknames more often than anything.

 

Also, for those of you unfamiliar with Octavia, here is some adorable MLP art to give all of you a bit of an idea of what sorts of silly photostories to expect once they arrive.

That was an idea, but I deal for Ersa Flora, and she runs the group orders for custom wigs from Happy Camille, who were more than happy to make Rarity's and Vinyl Scratch's wigs based off some pictures, and she also agreed to make custom pony eyes for the 4 gals as well. I'll take pics of the eyes and gals once everything is in. I'm in the process of seeing if she'll do the pony styled eyes as a restricted type for my dealership so that they can be available for anyone to make their own pony girls.

Oh, very nice! That's definitely more efficient than the Frankenwig approach. I'm looking forward to seeing the wigs and the eyes when they come in!

Just got the mock-ups for the eyes finalized, sending off payment once I get a total( hopefully tonight) with plans for ordering the actual bodies and heads tomorrow or Wednesday. The eyes hopefully shouldn't take too long to get here, but the wigs probably won't arrive until mid-late December, so if the gals arrive early temporary wigs will need to be used. ^^ Luckily I think I have a temporary wig that will work for VS until the other comes in.

Really glad to see I'm not the only one that had though about this!

 

I'm currently in the process of designing an outfit based on Rainbow Dash ^_^ and I'm planning to get a rainbow wig and tail commissioned... just have to wait til a little later in the month when I get paid.

I'll probably be secretive about progress, but I'll be sure to post once everything is ready.

 

I haven't thought about doing a custom head for her, though if I did I would look into SQ labs I guess, such a variety of expressions there, would be easier (hopefully) to find one that suits her.

I imagine I shall put the outfit on Mashiro when it is all sorted... Rainbow Dashiro XD
