My DD is My Princess

I guess it is only customary to post one of these sorts of posts huh ~ ...(・ω・)

 

My name is Saruna, and my DD is my android Miku, my princess, my angel, my--

 

I have wanted to adopt a Dollfie Dream since 2007, and since then I have also branched off to collect figures (I'm sarunamirabu on MyFigureCollection) and also adopt BJDs, Azone, Parabox/Obitsu, etc (along with other dolls and toys lol). Recently this summer, I researched again and found that DDs weren't as "expensive" as I thought they used to be, and I used the money I had for a DSLR camera to adopt my girl ^^

 

I ironically didn't completely like the official Miku DD (and also her being out of my price range at the $600-something she is) (she's really pretty but not really how I wanted mine in particular to look lol), so I wound up with the beautiful doll I have now. ^^ I actually almost spent the money on a different doll the day before, but after that one sold out, I discovered the listing for this one, fell in love with her, and ordered her, so it was meant to be the other doll sold out ^^;a She is Miku because VOCALOID is something that has been very important for many years for me, so I thought she would be fitting for my DD σ(^_^;)

 

She is very lucky that she was able to inherit hundreds of dollars of clothes from my childhood dolls (though I can sew clothes anyway) , though I end up spoiling her and buy her more clothes still >< I love her so much,I just want to buy her more and more things all the time >< I took her on a date to a fancy-looking tea house recently too but haven't had the time to finish editing those photos lately orz

I definitely want to get some official Volks outfits for my princess in the future though, and am hoping perhaps to get ahold of the Happiness Committee outfit as her first Volks outfit σ(^_^;) It scares me a bit though since I've heard some of these outfits have been click wars....

 

I ended up liking DDs much more than I thought I would since before Miku I hadn't seen one in person before, and I'm really happy I decided to finally adopt a DD after so many years ^^ I love having Miku hang out with me around the house

 

Now eventually I just need to get or make her a "charging station" to have in my bedroom....but that's for another time ^^;a

 

I have no plans to adopt other DDs.

Welcome to the forums Your Miku is a super cutie! And hey it's alright that the official Miku DD didn't pull on your heart strings. That's the best things about DDs is you can build the one of your dreams Your Miku looks like a super happy girl!

 

Yeah "click-wars" as we call them can be pretty brutal. What I've found to help a little is to sign into your Volks International account 5 mins before the time of the release. Also have a tab open for the item you're trying to go after (along with keeping the link saved somewhere) that way you can start refreshing that page as soon as possible. The website will totally die from the beginning, but just keep refreshing until the page finally loads and hopefully you'll be able to get the item you want This doesn't always work, but it definitely helps!

She sends her thanks for the compliment x) I'm more into the ooey-gooey "moe" look so I'm happy I was able to find a DD within my price range who fit that for me ^^

 

I'm used to this sort of thing from figure collecting (and other things like event tickets), though I don't want to possibly underestimate doll collectors considering I've never tried to compete with them before ( @ _ @ ; ) I'll keep in mind that the site will die in the beginning though so I won't freak out as much x'D If anything I'm hoping at least the outfit I'm after will indeed be up for preorder versus something like an event exclusive or something OTL|||||| If not though, off to Mandarake I go x'D
