Hello from ATX

Hi everyone,

I'm a long-time BJD hobbyist, but new to this board. Right now, I have [too many] BJD's, and three vinyl dolls- HDD-04 on a MDD body, HDD-03 on a VMF50/Obitsu body, and an SQLab Silvia on an Obitsu/VMF50 body. Recently I won an Alna head on Y!J, so my fourth is incoming/in progress. As far as other anime-styled dolls in my resin collection, I also have a 2D Doll Long Yue, SQLab Chibi Moe, and Luts tan Mango.

Outside of the doll hobby, I'm into cosplaying, figure collecting, and Japanese fashion. I work tech support for a large web-hosting company. It's nice to meet you all!

Hi & welcome to the board! A lot of us started with Anime figures & resin BJDs before coming to own DDs. They're lighter, typically more forgiving of drops, and hold poses better. Free standing seems easier too. I think Texans are well represented in the doll community, and I believe Austin sometimes has events scheduled, but you're probably aware of that. You're in amongst like-minded folks, so make yourself at home!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I'm definitely excited to check out the newer DD bodies when I get one for Alna. My MDD is from 2008, so she's one of the very early models that's a bit flimsy. Over the years, I've had a DDI, DDII, early DDDy, and two MDD's, but nothing as newer than 2009 or so. (I'be been in this hobby too long... lol)

My husband gave me an Obitsu50 body and some VMF option parts for our anniversary this year, and I've fallen head over heels back into collecting vinyl dolls!
