soapbubbleseal Posted September 25, 2015 If this isn't allowed because she's a mixed DD/other company doll, please delete. Now that I finally have link and photo access, I'd like to share a few snaps of my DD/VMF50 girl! She's the HDD-02/Aoi head on a VMF50 body- mixed parts between the A, B, and H lines. (A thighs, B hips, H chest, if anyone wanted specifics. Her outfit is a mixture of Volks dress and shoes for MDD, and socks from Helleborus on Taobao. Her wig is from Miruya. I did her faceup and made her animetic eyes myself. She has no name, and I'm horrible at coming up with them. I'm open to suggestions if an idea happens to strike you, though. Innocentsake Posted September 25, 2015 She's really adorable! And so jealous of that MDD dress you own Her face-up is really nice (I wanna see close-ups). Names can be tricky to come up with, but I'm sure you'll figure something out for her. And don't worry she's on topic since she has a DD head I'll have to try the VMF50/Obitsu body sometime since your girl looks so nice on it (getting used to the knee & elbow joints the more I see em hehe). Ahh, thank you! The dress was the last thing I bought at our local Volks store before they closed. It didn't come with the blouse from the original set, but I still love it. Even though I collect non-anime-style BJD's too, I always favor doing faceups on the anime style sculpts. My strong point, I guess, is precision, so I like the evenness and cleanliness of DD/anime faceups. It's a little nerve-wracking to work with a lot of blushing and glitter and freeform work that's popular on the more realistic molds. The Obitsu bodies definitely take some adjustment when you're used to Volks ones. I never liked their noodle-y torso sculpts (always thought they lacked detail next to Dollfie Dream), but discovering VMF50 parts made me finally want one! She's my first new vinyl in many years. Aaaand now I'm tumbling back into collecting vinyl dolls again. Whoops. it's all daijoubu baby

But that was before I got a MDD and once I got one they were gone I'm glad you were able to get it for your girl Do you think you could post more close-ups of her face? I just love seeing custom girls It's great that you enjoy doing the face-ups and it gives you a closer connection with your vinyl girl. You even made her eyes which is really cool. I should do more research about the VMF50 parts as I've never paid much attention to them. I guess I sometimes forget you can mix & match those parts Tumbling back is always fun! Just avoid the hole that opens up in your wallet
soapbubbleseal Posted September 28, 2015 I'll definitely try to get some closeups next time I go out for pictures! The lighting in my apartment is awful, so I can really only get decent ones outdoors. it's all daijoubu baby
