Hiyono Posted September 26, 2015 Today I was changing a few of my girl's clothes and noticed these purple marks on my Miku! Can someone explain whats going on? There is nothing touching her hands and neck and head but these purple marks appeared. Her skin that is covered with her body suit and clothes doesn't seem to have any marks, but the unprotected neck and hands have these purple marks. I just put on this new outfit about a month ago. I am annoyed since its on Miku's chin and head. I also only bought this M bust body for miku last month too. If it was only the body. Maybe I could eventually get another body. Gunter Posted September 26, 2015 So I discovered this the hard way, and not all outfits do but some of the super terrible staining outfits can... you can actually pick up dye on your hands (won't be something you can notice) and rub it into the girls sometimes. I had this very thing happen with the Saber Maid Outfit, and the stockings on Moe's Gothic Dress set. Somehow, someway, the dye gets picked up on your hands and when you touch the girls it instantly carries over. It can also transfer via other fabric or materials. I use plastic wrap on the girls a lot, and I've had numerous accounts with very bad stainin' outfits managing to just rub the dye off and then accidentally rub it onto the girls. I have no clue if that is what has happened here, but I do know this has happened to me so figured maybe it is similar...?
Hiyono Posted September 26, 2015 Maybe, But I didn't noticed anything after putting her clothes on. And I haven't moved her in past few weeks. I just noticed it today when I was working on another girl. I noticed the purple marks on her neck.
Anna-neko Posted September 26, 2015 It is def the dye off the maid dress.. How did you have her posed? Because you might not realize an edge of ribbon or ruffle on skirt is touching an unprotected spot until it is too late This also occasionally happens just like Gunter said - the dye rubbed off on your hand and later on doll as u touched her to get her posed/dressed/etc Example: Saber's blue dress is a known stain monster, but palms of her hands got stained from the hilt of her sword barely leaning on it! DarkAvenger696 Posted September 26, 2015 I have found that outfits that stain real bad just need a good wash, I have a small babyclothing washer and I wash the clothes I think will stain and I have found it helps ALOT, I know that shrinking and what not may be an issue but here is what I have done. 1) I get a small bucket and fill it with bath temp water and just a little bit of soap, I let it soak for about an hour and then I come back spin it around and squeeze (if the clothing 'bleeds' color then I know it would have stained my doll) 2) depending on how much dye 'bleeds' out I will soak it again 3) I then put it in my little washer and use cold water and a smidge of laundry soap 4) I rinse it all out and use a salad spinner (You can get them at a junk store for like a buck) and I spin out the water, watch for more 'bleeding' if it does happen I would go though the steps again I know other do different things and I have no idea how this would work on an item that has white bits so I would look around on the forums a bit to see if someone has ever washed the Saber Maid or not
Jezrah Posted September 26, 2015 I wouldn't recommend washing/soaking the Saber Maid set personally, since it's a pricey outfit and the loose dye may stain the white accent parts.
engelmech Posted September 29, 2015 I've heard pre-soaking dark clothing in white distilled vinegar can help with staining. I've done it, and the results seem fine, no smell after washing with soap and water too. Have you tried Volks Dream Rescue (can't link since I'm new, but it's on the Volks USA website)? Since the staining is new, it might work out well, I've found that it doesnt seem AS effective on old stains.
Hiyono Posted September 30, 2015 I wouldn't recommend washing/soaking the Saber Maid set personally, since it's a pricey outfit and the loose dye may stain the white accent parts. Haha. Wish you would of posted earlier. Few days ago I soaked the maid outfit a few times. Water turned very light purple. There's two types of lace. The more fine lace is now very light purple. While the bigger frills are still white. Do you think it's safe to wear now? I'll take a picture when I get home.

Unfortunately one rinse is no guarantee all the loose dye is out of the garment. If you kept soaking (soak for an hour, change the water, repeat) till the water remained clear, the garment would be much safer, but I still wouldn't leave her in the garment long term. It is my opinion that once a garment demonstrates a tendency to stain it will never be 100% "safe". A barrier of some kind (bodysuit, undergarments, etc.) is the only preventative measure besides just not wearing the garment. I have tried the white vinegar soak (hour+ soak in 50% white vinegar, 50% ice water) to try and set the remaining dye as recommended in Nicolas Hill's book on vinyls (http://www.twinpines.com/Vinyl-Dolls-book) and have had some success with it. DarkAvenger696 Posted October 20, 2015 yea that staining looks like it came about from the ribbon for the socks and the black on the dress... unfortunately that thin style of lace is really hard to get back to white..I cant say for sure what you should try usually I would just use a little spray bottle set to stream and use a soft bleach or vinegar BUT the placement of the lace and the black ribbon is a BIG problem. I would be worried that using that method would turn bits of the ribbon and outfit white. Honestly this is something I would end up going to my mom and asking about since mom's tend to have seen it all xD

This happens to all of us @ one point, invest in a body suit. Your Miku has a special body suit carter just for her. Try Mr Clean Magic Eraser for those stain. While I can't tell for sure without seeing the doll in person just looking at the photo's those stains look like they will come right out with Dream Rescue. They appear to be surface stains and not deep stains. You should be able make your Miku look as good as new with a little effort. Similar stains happened to my Chihaya from the powder on her wig right down to the stain on her chin from touching the wig then her chin, and it only took about 4 days of treatment to get them completely off. I've never used it on SW Skin though. I know it's perfectly safe on normal skin. Just be sure to not get any on her faceup, or it will remove it. If you've never used it there is a thread on it here. viewtopic.php?f=38&t=11391 You can also use Removez It, but I've never personally used that product before. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction
