tangy_melon Posted October 7, 2015 Hello community! I have seen these metal internal skeleton replacements for dollfie dreams: Original picture source These seem kind of cool! (and scary) I was wondering does anyone have any info or experience with these?
salica Posted October 8, 2015 I never seen one of those before but I would be ready to try one for sure !
tangy_melon Posted October 9, 2015 Me too! Through some more searching I found this website? There seems to be a ton of photos on there. Example and link below All I know about them is they sell on yahoo Japan sometimes. I first saw them on a website that showed closed yj auctions. SisterKyoya Posted October 10, 2015 I didn't know about those frames specifically but I have thought a LOT about metal frame replacements over the years, especially for our two MDD bodies. Bree's body is so floppy that I could tie strings to her and use her as a marionette. Sure it would make the bodies heavier (something I wouldn't mind) but having reliable and long-term body stability would make the cost totally worth it. Our DD move around so much and get posed a LOT even when we aren't taking photos. Our DD kids go through loads more wear and tear than the plastic frames can really tolerate, especially the DDII and MDD bodies. Tama still needs to be upgraded to the MDDIII body. He'd be one happy little guy if he could stand up on his own again. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

Chibi_Rat Posted November 13, 2015 I never really thought about a metal frame but it sounds like a cool idea. It would certainly be sturdier than plastic but it does seem kind of scary (like I would hurt myself or damage the vinyl with it), I would also worry about it rusting from photo shoots in or around water or things like that. nao Posted August 31, 2016 Resurrecting this old thread cause I've just received this metal frame on my door step! I've not seen any review about it, so I'll see if it really worth the price and report back here if anyone interested. In the mean time, here are some quick pics I took during my lunch: My first thought when I opened the package was "This thing is massive! Seems a bit heavier than the original (obviously), and is rock solid! The only thing that can possibly break eventually is this two small plastics parts on the neck, that give additional ranges of motion: On the chest part, only the arm socket can move. This is quite hard actually, but I guess you can loosen up the screws on that part to make it easier. All parts can be easily tighten or loosen up and are all equipped with spring washer to avoid to loosening up by itself. It also come with an extension shaft. For what I've understand, I think it's meant for DDdy body but I'm not sure why. Here is an example of motion range you can get: Everything move in every possible axis! I now need to figure out if you can actually get a use of all this possibility when it's stuff inside a body (that sound a little bit weird ^^) With the extension shaft installed, with a DDS body for comparison: As you can see, the extension shaft make it a little bit too long for the DDS body.* I guess it's how it is supposed to be inside the DDdy (which I'm planning to use with it): (It's still a DDS body here, but you get the idea) Now, I need to actually try it on my DDdy
sinclair Posted September 1, 2016 Wow, that would be cool to get. Where did you get it from, and how much (If you don't mind my asking.)? What is it made of, stainless or aluminum? Looks stainless from the photos, which can still rust actually. And I would use blue Loctite on the hardware instead of spring (lock) washers. With a lot of moving, like that of our little girls, the washers will dig in and mark up the metal frame, and still come loose. With the blue Loctite the screws will stay in place until you remove them, and it'll allow for you to adjust the tension of the joints to be as loose or stiff as you want without getting looser in the long term. nao Posted September 1, 2016 According to the official blog, this is made of aluminum, stainless steel, and plastic. Good idea for loctite, i may consider this in the future. But actually, the screw should not come loose that easily since, unlike the original body frame, none of the screws are used as rotation axis, so not so much strength as applied to them. This frame usually cost around 14,000 yen in local doll convention. You can also find them on yaj or ebay (that's where I got mine), but for far much as it seems quite rare. There is also a MDD version, but it's like impossible to find anywhere. Anyway, the range of motion in quite impressive, but very limited by the vinyl body around it (it's still not bad, at all). Here is a quick pose test I did with the DDdy body (beware, nudity warning ). DDS is on the back, for comparison purpose. (The DDdy body use a modified DD L bust, in case you're wondering)

silky08 Posted October 4, 2016 I wonder extention shaft because of my doll's body is DDdy3. I aleady have metal inner frame but I don't have extention. T^T Compare with Volks DDIF, metal frame without extention parts is shorter.
AriDonut Posted October 25, 2016 I've been trying to find out more information on this and upon doing research I found that they seem to have metal parts for the majority of the frame. I've only so far been able to find the torso part for sale, but I can't find the leg parts anywhere. I don't know if there are arm parts, but I'd be interested in knowing if anyone knows more >.<. http://doloraco.blog37.fc2.com/ They provide pictures and the price in this post. My Japanese isn't very good so I can't read it completely.
