Eustia Posted October 21, 2015 So this will be my last girl for the foreseeable future. I was smitten with her watching the anime last season, and want to make a doll of her. I think SW Dy will be good for her; she has wide hips, that show through the cut dress. She's also very busty (though fanart varies wildly) so despite my general distaste of Dy busts (I've bought two Dy girls and replaced them with L) I think I will do Albedo as a Dy. Would anybody think she should be L, instead? I have a SW Dy bust already, so it'd save a smidge of cash to simply keep it. A long black wig isn't hard. Eyes generally aren't difficult to sort either, however finding somebody to make the dress might be, due to the more intricate parts. Simple white gown isn't too hard, but then there's all the gold webwork to be done. Then there's the matter of the wings. I am aware of two places that do BJD wings, however neither have quite what suits Albedo. I may have to make do, though I did contact an Etsy seller about customs. No reply yet. Anyway, I'm open to suggestions on any parts for this lovely lady.

doll-mage Posted October 28, 2015 The dress wouldn't be too complex, actually! It could be made in two pieces; a blouse and skirt. ^^ The blouse could be made with a Bateau neckline and a peplum. The skirt could be a high-waist A-line or mermaid skirt with cutouts on the hips below the waistband. The collar appears to be a separate piece; it's less complicated than a corset-collar, but the idea is similar. The gold edging could be done with hand-embroidery or ribbon to preserve the softness of the fabric. The gold detail on the front appears to be something like a necklace. It could be made as a separate piece and then tacked into place with hand-stitches onto the front of the bodice when the outfit is completed. |--+ Doll-Candy: shop +--|--+ Instagram +--|--+ tumblr +--|

Though I don't know much of anything about dressmaking, I was simply trying to problemsolve the intricate parts and work out ways to do it. I just need to find somebody up to the challenge. Clothing is always the hardest part of my doll projects to find people for. ^^;
Eustia Posted November 5, 2015 Anyone have any suggestions on a head? I was initially thinking an 05, but they seem difficult to get right. I'm willing to buy a character head if I can find one (SW). Open to suggestions! I have almost everything else sorted.
Eustia Posted December 11, 2015 Just bumping this as an update. I have her head/eyes, horns arrived today. Wig is temporary; I have another on order. The outfit is being made by doll-mage at the moment, and I have commissioned the wings from Etsy... though no word on them in a few weeks. >.< Still, happy she is progressing. Still waiting for her body; a friend bought most of the pieces for me for christmas. ^^;
