Mysha Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) Recently I was deciding which body to get for my new girl. I wanted it to be very poseable with a huge range of movement. The problem was there was hardly none comparison of different bodies in more advanced poses than just standing, sitting or kneeling. So then I thought it would be nice to have an ultimate database of the bodies and poses, so that it is easier to decide which body to choose. Hope some of you may find it useful. As I want this thread to be an ultimate database, I would gladly welcome owners of DD2, DDdy, MDD, Obitsu 50 or any other body people are using for DD hybrids. Please PM me if you want to participate in my little project Disclaimer: I'm not a super advanced dolls owner, so some of the poses may not be as good as they should and may not show the full possibilities of the body. If you can make some poses better, I'll be happy to change my photos with yours. MDD: The one I got an access to was on a very stiff body, so I had problem to move it - didn't want to push too much strength on it. I assume other MDDs may have some wider range of movement. If anyone owning an MDD would like to share better pictures, I would be more than happy to replace mine with their. Comment from Aubzy82 on her DDIII: My DDIII is not modified with any new parts. She is completely original from Volks. I didn't want to risk bending her any further than she would allow. All pictures show her at the most extreme position she can attain. So basically what you see is what you get and can't get any further unless someone modifies the body. Currently compared bodies: Smart Doll (SmD) presented by Kizuna Dollfie Dream Sister (DDS) presented by Olivia Obitsu 60cm 60BD-F04W-G (Obi) presented by Isabelle Dollfie Dream III (DDIII) presented by Shiori (owner: @Aubzy82) Mini Dollfie Dream III (MDD) presented by Maria Smart Doll Boy (SmDB) presented by A-chan (owner: @Ie-Aster) 1. Standing with legs being as wide as they can go. SmD - super stable with help of the 3rd axis in her ankle DDS - her knees were about to twist under the weight of the body, I barely get her to stand Obi - well... DDIII - it barely can be called 'standing'... MDD - standing against the wall, but other than that, it's pretty stable SmDB - Everything was very stable once I figured out how to use the triple joint in the ankle. 1a. Spreading legs while sitting. 2. Bending to the side. SmD - super stable as before DDS - had to put her legs more towards each other, so she got her stability back Obi - had trouble to stand on her own on the soft cushion, so I had to help her with her metal stand DDIII - Very stable. Doesn't move any further. MDD - she could barely bend - very stiff body SmDB - nothing to comment 3. Laying with head, back and shoulders bending backwards as far as they can. Front view: SmD - no problems with holding the pose on her own DDS - able to bend the back further, but after letting it go, it went back to that position Obi - the same as for DDS, guess her head is to heavy and the gravity wins DDIII - nothing to comment MDD - couldn't make her raise - very stiff body SmDB - nothing to comment 3a. Resting a chin on a hand Front view: SmD - holding the pose by herself, the hand under the chin is not needed DDS - had to literally rest the head on the hand to hold the position Obi - the same as for DDS, but with a better result DDIII - It isn't too hard to position her to take a front view like this. Just takes careful adjustment of the doll and positioning the camera just right. MDD - able to achieve this only thanks to her hand under her chin SmDB - it does help him keep his head all the way up to have the help of the hand. Otherwise gravity pulls it down a bit 4. Sitting with head, shoulders and back bend backwards. SmD - nothing to comment DDS - nothing to comment Obi - here gravity helps, so she can bend pretty far DDIII - nothing to comment MDD - very stiff body - could barely bend SmDB - nothing to comment 5. Bending forward. SmD - she can't bend the torso too far, but helps with the neck bending pretty well DDS - almost the same bending capability in the torso and the neck Obi - the neck can't bend too much, but the torso does it great (it doesn't look good while bended, but it won't be visible under some clothes) DDIII - nothing to comment MDD - very stiff body - could barely bend SmDB - nothing to comment 6. Sitting straight. SmD - it was pretty hard to make her sit straight - it was as far as she can go and it's almost impossible to achieve this result in clothes (especially in the jeans) DDS - sitting with no problem Obi - sitting with no problem DDIII - not a big difference from bending forward MDD - sitting with no problem SmDB - nothing to comment 7. Pulling the torso to the legs. SmD - the same picture as in "sitting straight" - she can't go any further DDS - could go a bit further, but went back to this position after letting it go Obi - holds the pose by herself DDIII - cannot move my DDIII forward much MDD - very good effect and stable SmDB - it was the same as sitting straight, since the back won't go forward any more than the sitting-straight position 8. Pulling the knee to the torso. SmD - nothing to comment DDS - could pull the leg more with some help Obi - the same as for DDS DDIII - nothing to comment MDD - nothing to comment 9. Kneeling. lonelymiracle Posted November 23, 2015 It was very interesting (and also entertaining) to see these comparisons! I knew Obitsus are known for flexibility but I have never tried spreading my Obitsu 60's legs like that. I've verified that they do spread that wide xD These pics also show how beautiful and realistic the Smart Doll body is, it's definitely on my wishlist! megumin3 Posted June 18, 2016 This pose comparison is very helpful, although I'm still searching for DD III upper body + DDS lower body hybrids stability info. volks need to make shorter leg parts for DD III body, since most anime girls are rather short but MDD is a different beast.. Ie-Aster Posted June 28, 2016 Thank you for making these! As promised, here are the poses with my Smart Doll Boy. I apologize that I'm still something of a novice at posing dolls, but I hope that these can be useful. puchi-photography (dot) tumblr (dot)com/post/146622523069/22-poseability-testing-for-a-discussion-on-the puchi-photography(dot)tumblr(dot)com/post/146622424104/½-poseability-testing-for-smart-doll-eiji-for-a (p.s.
