glynjay Posted November 9, 2015 I purchased a pair of Volks Dollfie Dream heels when I purchased my girl. It was advertised as to fit DD but her feet will not go in these heels. The heels are hard plastic so its hard to manipulate them enough to get her feet in. has anyone else had this problem and how do you use the heels?
Anna-neko Posted November 9, 2015 (edited) ok 2 things: one - baseII bodies has a miniscule size difference to current baseIII. Like, literally half a millimeter in certain parts, but it affected fit two - have u tried heating them up slightly? It's our trick for all stuck bits from replacing hands to ...well... getting certain plastic bits onto other bits ...ok i lied, there's a 3rd. Plastic volks heels have been hated for a while now, because they were just terrible Edited November 9, 2015 by Guest
ektorp Posted November 9, 2015 glynjay is right. Volks' plastic heels is definitely way too small for DD. They can even barely fit on a Smart Doll. I'm glad I didn't pay much for them.
Galvatim Posted November 9, 2015 Those cheap ones Volks sells just for DD? I think you're supposed to heat them up with a hair dryer to get them on and off. I have a pair somewhere, but never bothered with them.
Jezrah Posted November 9, 2015 I bought some early on, I actually found they go on easier with socks, it reduces the friction, but the tight fit can cause staining with dark socks. Otherwise, if you're crafty you can cut off the sides, it changes the style of them and makes them easier to put on.
Bubbles Posted November 11, 2015 If you heat the heels up at close range with a blow dryer till they are burning hot (maybe like 20 seconds?) they become very soft and easy to put on. Just gotta do it before it cools. However if you are are looking for some nice pumps, there are many 3rd party ones that are way nicer and fit better. These ones from Crobidoll are still may favorite: http://www.crobidolls.com/shop/step1.php?number=1881&b_code=B20080525084204&c_code=C20110323062618
Dollvari Posted November 11, 2015 I have several pairs of these on both DD2 & DD3 girls. I find it easier to get these on/off by removing the dd's foot with ankle. Take care not to put too much pressure on the ankle connector. Putting heels on: Put the foot toes first in at an angle. Rotate the foot down to sit flat in the high heel, while gently pushing the foot forward. This action should spread the high heel opening and allow the foot to slide into the heel. You may need to push on the back of the foot, or place the heel on a hard surface and push down to finish getting the heel on. Removal: Take the foot off Gently grab and pull up on the ankle foot connector while also pulling down on the back of the high heel. I do agree some heating or soaking in hot water may be necessary.
