What are you currently reading/playing?

 

I just downloaded Katawa Shoujo.

 

I have a Mac and I feel like my options are limited

I'm waiting for Seduce Me 2: The Demon War to be released! It's a U.S. based romance visual novel, and I enjoy the full voice acting and array of choices (your main 5 plus 4 other options!).

 

I've also got to recommend Aloners and Green Eyed Monster on itch.io for having solid storylines, though there are certainly underlying elements of romance in both.

I don't usually play VNs but if I do they tend to be otome games. I really liked Hakuouki and Kannou Mukashibanashi. I also played(or tried to play I'm not so good at rhythm games xD) parts of some Utapri games.

 

However, I've gone back and rekindled my love for Hatoful Boyfriend. Yes, the pigeon dating game. I blame the plushie kickstarter that's currently on-going for making me remember and replay the original game LOL Even though the sequel is supposed to be re-released on Steam later this year I buckled down and bought the original version because I couldn't wait. For those who haven't played it yet, I'd say to give the series a chance! It's definitely worth the $4-10, ESPECIALLY if you go through all of the routes.

Right now I'm playing Steins;Gate on the Vita plowing through chapter 2. Great story so far and it's my first VN game (if Telltale doesn't count). Once I'm done I'll jump on the Danganronpa series.

I have a Mac too but i have a windows partition in it, i loved Katawa Shoujo, many hours of fun!

 

I also played "Analogue: a hate story" and "Hate plus" (which is a sequel) which are a bit "crossover" and particular, but i found them interesting and cool and they are for sell on Steam platform , and are avaible also for Mac

I'm really excited for Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning! I should probably get around to preordering it soon since I think it releases shortly. The last vn I played was No, Thank You!!

I still have one route to finish in it but I tend to get burnt out playing through most storylines in a VN all at once. Then never finish up the last route or two /)_(\

I wanna start playing the Zero Escape series sometime, but I'm debating if I want to play 999 with puzzles (for DS) or as a straight up VN on ios.

 

I think Mangagamer has a handful of their games available for Mac? I recall that their Higurashi port even functions on Linux!

On my shelf I have Le Fruit de la Grisaia (which is great; check it out even if - and especially if - you hated the anime) plus a few more niche titles that perhaps don't bear mention here. The other half has Daiteikoku by Alicesoft on hers and we're both terribly disappointed that the fan translation efforts for it keep stalling. The What a Beautiful... series by Liar-Soft is represented too and I can heartily recommend Sekien no Inganock -What a Beautiful People- with its English patch by Amaterasu Translations even though I've only seen it being played.

 

I keep getting pestered to play Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward but somehow never manage to get around to it...

I'm playing Fate/Stay Night right now and I love it! Awkward scene in the forest aside it's really well done. Art style seemed funny at first but I got over that really quickly. Also I freaking love Saber so far!

I've read through the Fate route in Fate/stay night...kind of want a Saber Alter DD, but she comes in Ataraxia, right? I haven't read through that yet and I feel kind of weird adopting her if I haven't done her route yet.

 

I have Clannad from the Sekai Project Kickstarter but haven't read it yet. I wish I had more time to read visual novels. My backlog includes Steins;gate, Paca Plus, and World End Economica.

Oh man I do love VNs! DRAMAtical Murder is definitely a favorite of mine, though I love Togainu no Chi too (though honestly I have more of a love/hate relationship with that one).

 

Green Eyed Monster was good! That Cheap and Sacred Thing is old as hell now but it's a favorite of mine, even if it hasn't aged very well.

 

I did play Katawa Shoujo too... Hm, I've played a decent amount but I can't remember them all off the top of my head!

 

At the moment I'm wanting to play the original version of YUNO but it's so old it doesn't want to run on my computer OTL

 

ETA: anyone on Mac, there's a lot of English visual novels with Mac editions these days since RenPy automatically will make a build for them!
