Newcomer!

Hello! I'm new to the board. I have been debating on where or not I wanted to get a Dollfie, and finally decided to get one. I'm going to have to buy one piece by piece, but I hope to have it completed soon.

 

I also posted a question in the Q&A section about hands.

Volks jp and Volks Usa (along marketplace here on the forum, and other places) sell complete Dollfie Dreams bodies along blank heads (unpainted) and some complete standard models (complete dolls with body, painted head, eyes, wig panties and a camisole) , so hopefully you can buy the doll complete , or at least head and body and not piece by piece (apart if you want to buy a white skin body because Volks sells only normal and semiwhite skins bodies already assembled)

I haven't decided if I want to go piece be piece, or just save up the money and buy one outright. If I decide to save up, it wont be until summer that I can order one. I am still debating with myself about it.

I bought my first girl outright, then built my second from parts... and building one from parts taught me a lot about them, which I think is a good thing. People should know how the frame works, which has to be learned by just doing it. Whether you take apart/rebuild a whole girl, or build from parts, either way works. But if you are financially constrained, you could start with parts. Make sure you get the body/head first, though.

 

The head really makes the character, and you need a body to put the head on. Limbs can come later.

 

Do you have a character in mind you want to make, or will you be winging it? You should browse YJA heads since you can occasionally get a good deal (I got one for a mere 5000 yen once). But it hinges on what sort of character you are intending to make, really. If you're smitten with a specific head, then you may have to pay quite a lot for it.

 

Still, I wish you luck with your first girl. Make sure to keep us updated, and don't be afraid to ask questions here; this community is rather friendly as a whole. ^^

I have a few idea in mind. One is going to need heavy modification, and I won't know if it's even possible to do until have my first doll. But I'm getting ahead of my self.
