Thank you so much for comparison picture. New Rin does look a lot more pink than the first one! eyeliners seems a lot thicker too..

My Rin arrived today and I'm so excited! Here is an album with photos of Rin trying out every pair of eyes I have (that aren't being worn by another DD)

I really love her a lot more with new eyes. The ones she comes with by default are too small for her IMO. When I get some photos of her wearing some wigs I will post some new photos as well

 

***Edit*** I took some photos of Rin in all sorts of wigs (they're in the same album up above). They are taken after dark and with a flash on my phone so not great but they give a good idea. I'm liking the dark natural colours the most, but light pink also seems to appeal to me.

And yes those are Aoko's eyes. I think they suit her much better than her own, both in size and shape~

Sadly, she's still... missing something? I don't see her and go "YES! I have to have her in my collection!" Instead I see her and think "That's a very lovely girl, but I don't think she's right for me."

She has large eye holes, and her default eyes definitely seem too small. Granted they do give her a very alert and intense look.

You're welcome but I'm sorry you don't feel so excited about Rin. I do have to say, you may change your mind when you see her in person. I don't feel like the photos of her are accurate or a good representation of her potential and beauty. I'm not at all fond of the photos I have taken of her but in person she's a lot prettier. I'm still not 100% in love with her yet, but it may come in time.

I tend to like girls with more serene expressions -- distant or neutral are also good for me, maybe even a little frowny. I don't tend to go for "cute" and "cheerful" and the new Rin just seems to be both of those things, whereas Original Rin is very much a neutral express.

 

Kushina I think that's one of the best Rin photos I've seen so far. Apparently I like her a lot better when her eyebrows are hidden!

Kushina, she looks gorgeous in that wig! Those are still her default eyes, correct? I really do think a lot of people's confusion over here is the hair + eyes combo. I'd never been a fan of her default wig so I can't wait to get her here and change out all her parts.

 

That comparison photo of Rin V1 vs. V2 has me in love! The slightly parted lips are so cute, they're killing me!

In person she is definitely cute and cheerful looking. Not as much so as Yui Hirasawa, or my IM@S girls, but a good deal more so than Kos-Mos or Saber Lily.

 

She doesn't seem much like the "tsundere" she is supposed to be in the stories.

Sitting here and hoping that not every girl 2016 and onward will have those painted lips like Sheryl, Takane and Rin. I really dislike it. It's really ok if people think it's beautiful, but it's just not my kinda thing. >__

My Takane arrived today!! I won't have a computer to post pictures until monday but she is stunning @_@

Like other people have mentioned, the wig really isn't the best quality, I've resolved to moving her around as little as possible to stop the hairs from uncurling and jutting out... but when stood still it looks beautiful

 

Has anyone had trouble with her outer jacket though? I can't get it to go round her quite frankly ginormous boobs so it keeps jutting out at the sides leaving a gaping hole around her arm area. I feel like I'm going to have to resort to double sided sticky tape just to hold it in place

 

Also, I don't know how long this has been changed from since the only other official IM@S girl I have is Chihaya, but I wonder why they changed the colour for the pink part of the default outfit? I like the colour better now (and it looks closer to the game colour too), but surely this is a bummer for someone who wanted to collect all the im@s dollfies and put them together.

I've noticed that between my Makoto, and my Chihaya. Makoto's pink "Elvis" costume is a darker pink than Chihayas. It's darker than in the product photo's as well. In the product photos it looks like the same color between both dolls.

Yes she definitely has a much more cheerful expression than the original Rin although in person I do find her faceup to be a bit mischievous as well. But since you *do* already have twin Rins, she may just not fit in with your other girls. Oh well, there are always lots of other DD's to come that will be stunning

 

Also, after having Rin in her default outfit for 24 hours, there are no visible stains (I didn't have her wig on - that's almost guaranteed to stain -_- ). I had a pair of socks on under her default ones though because I don't dare trust Volks black socks. So her outfit is at least safe enough for a photo shoot without any excess bulk from a bodysuit.

Thanks! I think for me too it's the hint of parted lips and almost a smirk happening? I can't quite pinpoint it, but I didn't notice anything other than super sweet in photos before I received her yesterday so I was surprised and pretty happy about it.

I tried to take a quick photo to kinda show what I mean and I think I sort of captured it? It's only with my phone camera (which are getting rather good now anyway) so the lighting is terrible.

 

EDIT: Hmm on second thought maybe I didn't capture it ^^' She still looks pretty cutesy sweet in that photo. I'm having the hardest time capturing her actual expression on camera, she just looks incredibly different in person than in photos (at least to me).

Actually now that you pointed it out I can't stop seeing her expression that way. I'd still say she's cute and cheerful, but this adds a new dimension to her.

Thanks so much for the comparison photo, AMG. Rin ver 1 was top of my wishlist for a long time, and I couldn't figure out why Rin ver 2 didn't instantly grab me the same way. Now I know why. I didn't even want to try for her in the lotteries. I still think she's beautiful, but she reminds me more of Miku than Rin ver 1.

My Rin is here, she's very cute! Her eyes are definitely weird and I'm currently struggling to get them out and at least move them around ASAP. They're very pretty in person but with the way they are positioned they photograph really poorly. Just from looking at them I'm thinking that if you point them up and a bit to the side they'd look fine. I'm going to try some round eyes in comparison to the ovals she came with as well.

 

There's also a (to me) big sewing error on the collar of her winter coat and I'm wondering if it's just me being anal about stitching or if I should contact Volks about it because I really don't think it should've passed quality control.

 

I'll post pictures later, once I hopefully get eyes out.

 

Edit: Got them out and moved them up and to the left by about 1mm each direction? I think the one needs a little adjustment but she is already 110% better. I was going to change them out but they don't bother me now so it'll wait for another day.
