Rin Tohsaka and Takane Shijou

Can someone tell me what eyes these are? where i can get them? Or suggest me anything similar?

I'm really afraid her default stockings will stain Rin, any news there? T^T I want to let her wear her default outfit, but I'm so unsure if I should risk it... T^T

Here's a pretty good example of the "Mischief Rin v2" effect I think, when her head is tilted downwards. Photo from a DoA user. Definitely looks plotting something here!

I've had them on with a body suit, and they haven't stained it, I'm not too sure I'd be comfortable putting them on without it though. I have had her top and skirt on without it though for a short period of time, and there was no staining.

She's definitely really mischievous when her head is pointed down or her eyebrows are covered. She's really really pretty in person but also incredibly hard to photograph and have it come out looking the way I see her, if that makes sense?

 

I recently put new eyes in my Rin, but I think I probably needed the next size up, oops! They're 22s and I seem to recall that was what Volks suggested for her? Input would be lovely as I'm new to DD eye sizing and tend to purposefully put eyes that are smaller in my (far more realistic looking) resin bjds as I like the creepy effect it gives >_>

 

Did anyone ever find out if her default stockings or wig stain? Also asking about her panties- they're all white but I noticed the little Volks tag on the inside has black on it so I was too worried about it to risk it before washing.

And despite my best efforts her headcap already got stained with like 5 minutes worth of wearing that wig she had on in my other photo.

Aveline came in the other day! She needs her permanent eyes (Which I already ordered) but that aside she's basically ready!

How interesting! I always thought Rin v1 was the easiest of all dolls to photograph -- seemed like any angle, any lighting, any styling, and it would end up looking amazing.

So far I have not had any major issues with staining, however I have seen some very light staining occur where the red coat touches Rin's legs or other parts of her body. Even the stockings I haven't had any issues with though! So far so good!

Beautiful pictures of Rin and Takane. I always love seeing owner pictures to get a better idea of what the doll will ACTUALLY look like.

 

My Rin is out for delivery today, so I'm very antsy.

I got an email from Volks USA stating that the Holiday Greeting 2015 Limited items will ship late March. I believe mid to late March was expected for shipment, but I felt I should post it here just in case some winners never saw the message and are wondering if the schedule would change as a result of their unplanned outage.

But does this go for the Rin winners too? They mentioned Snow Miku by name along with the other lottery items but there was no mention of Rin in the email I received. It would be AWESOME if Rin started to ship at the end of this month or the beginning of April! I just wish they had mentioned her name in that email to confirm.

It was addressed specifically to "lottery winners of the Holiday Greeting of the December 2015," and it mentions sequential shipments of the items. I would read that as meaning they will ship one group of event items, like all the SD one offs, and then move to the next group. I think it's reasonable to expect the November event items to ship ahead of the December event items, so I'm guessing you are right in thinking this could mean Rin ships in April or later. When I posted I totally forgot about the SD event.

 

The only lottery item I won was Rin's outfit. I didn't enter for Rin or the SD one offs, and my Snow Miku pre-order is through Volks International. As long as this email only went to people who won one of those events then I think we can expect that it covers at least one of the events you won.

I also got the email and I only entered for Rin.

So one thing that's interesting is at the Dolpa today I didn't see a SINGLE new Rin, but I saw several Takanes. I also haven't seen that many on Flickr, which makes me think she's actually pretty rare :/

Kinda strange considering there's a lot more Rins on YJA and she's considerable less expensive than the few Takanes that are listed there. Maybe it's an anomaly and the price will even out in the end though?

Yah, I'm wondering if Rin just isn't as highly sought after by the hardcore DD collectors. Her auction prices are relatively low for a recent release. Mandarake is pricing her almost as high as Takane, but she's not moving at that price. Maybe we have finally reached peak Fate fandom ;3

I'm kind of wondering if it's the scalper-to-owner ratio that's different. People who got Takane mostly wound up keeping her, but I bet Rin got a lot of scalper draw. . . . so now you have scalpers who are now hawking to other scalpers. Things may even out once Rin starts getting to more people who actually want to keep her.

I was really disappointed to lose both lotteries, but I got Rin after market first and waited on Takane. I think I wanted them each about equally, but Rin's aftermarket prices were lower so she was an easier buy.

I have loved Takane since the moment I saw her!

The problem with Rin on the aftermarket might just be that her product photos aren't that convincing (as we've discussed here with the eyes, and how hard she's to photograph, apparently), plus scalpers like Poofie said. So those that really wanted Rin were able to get her kind of easily (I haven't actually checked the auctions, I'm going by what you guys are saying), and those on the fence are still on the fence with no pressure due to all the scalpers

 

Takane on the other hand is an undisputed goddess.

It seems that we have made a mistake with the previous email sent. We meant to refer to “Dollfie Dream® Rin Tohsaka ver.2” instead of “Dollfie Dream® Snow Miku”.

 

Given that their shipping department won't have much else to do with the site down, I expect Rin to ship fairly quickly. After the SD one-offs, of course.

Yep, I got that email today as well and was super happy about it! This means I'll have mine for Animazement in May... she'll be my escort because I'm cosplaying Shirou Emiya.

I got my payment request today from AmiAmi for my Honey Whip Deluxe Miku. And here I thought Rin would probably be here before that happened. So hopefully Rin's shipping notice won't be too far behind.
