Rin Tohsaka and Takane Shijou

And it's been because of that rarity that everyone has been scrambling to see if they can get Rin this time around.

 

For me personally I've been trying my hardest not to even think about it because much of the time when I get super obsessed with something it usually ends up with me feeling like I've been punched in the gut. So most of the time when the topic of Rin comes up I'm like "Whatever" and don't give it much thought and just get on with my life, but that totally does not represent how I feel about it. I've just had fate yank the carpet out from under me way too often in my life to have much confidence in matters like this. Between waiting for the final lottery results and waiting to see what Volks may or may not do about Rin & Len Kagamine, I'm just getting tired of waiting so much on Volk's whims and never knowing what to prepare for.

Nah, they won't, at least not in the short term. The Rin v2 doll is all the Rin-chan that there is going to be for the time being. We know that Volks is indeed selling the Academy Uniform v2 as an optional dress set for Rin v2 - but that is clothes-only. So you would need to get the actual Rin doll at the same time in order to wear it.

Yeah, the next Fate girl they'll probably re-release will be Sakura, given that Ufotable is planning on doing movies for Heaven's Feel. Though given that she's the least popular of the heroines, I don't know for sure whether or not they will; if the previous version didn't sell well, they might re-release Ilya or something instead. We might see another Saber Alter, too, since this is the route she's from and the Sabers are always really popular. Maybe they'll do her actual armor instead of just the casual outfits?

 

I honestly don't know when we'll see Rin re-released. Usually Volks times their doll releases with other major media releases; the first set of Fate dollfies came out around the same time as Hollow Ataraxia, for example, and Rin's release was because of the Unlimited Blade Works anime. I doubt the answer is never; Type-Moon certainly doesn't seem to show any signs of not releasing Fate spin-offs anytime soon. But at the same time, it'll probably be several years, and three or four Saber variants, before Volks is likely to revisit her.

 

I did have kind of mixed feelings on Rin - she was adorable, but I think Aoko's head looks more accurate to her design than the actual Rin head. And the DD body might be too tall next to my Saber and the custom Archer I really want to do. But she's a really special character to me, and I feel like my collection won't be complete without a version of her. Maybe some of the people who entered eight times or something will be selling off their excess ones at a decent price.

If Volks does a doll to complement the Heaven's Feel movie, I wonder if we might finally see a DD version of Rider? We've seen one Sakura, two Rins, two Illyas, and... five Sabers (Original, Alter, Extra, Alter 2, and Lily)? I certainly would be curious to see how a Rider would turn out.

So they said the timeframe to announce results is between the 9th and 16th. I wonder what day specifically we'll start hearing them? I'm hopeful for a Takane. I won Rin in the US one so if another Rin is won, I'll be putting her up for a new home.

We'll starting getting emails around 9/8 central time Friday here in the US. It doesn't matter where you're from for International, they start sending them all out around the same time. I lost Rin at USA, so I'm also super hopeful I'll get her through International .

I'd be really surprised if they don't do Rider (and yet happily surprised if they announced her). She's wonderful, and the Heaven's Feel movie will show that. She'd make an amazing DD.

 

Also, didn't they hint at Miyu from Prisma Illya when they released Prisma Illya? IIRC there was a little section showing her character image in that old Volks News (or somewhere), but I don't know if that indicated anything useful.

It probably doesn't indicate anything, but they do need to release more MDDs and Prisma Illya's getting a 4th season.

A Rider DD would be awesome! Although the outfit would probably stain pretty badly knowing volks, and the hair would be at war with you constantly. Still worth it!

I entered one other lottery before but the period for winning notifications wasn't almost a week. Is this the first time they had such a long notice period or has it happened before? My entry isn't even for me and I don't think I can stand waiting a week before knowing I didn't win. Too much nerves and excitement!

I am guessing the first days they will send the message to the winners from the event and then to us of the after event

Well if it makes you feel any better I feel the same way. It's 8:45 am Sunday in Japan right now. Not sure if Volks does lottery draws on the weekend. This is my first lottery so I am unsure how it all works in terms of timing.

yes, seems like they announced the results for those at Dolpa before they announced the web results. There's a couple of Rins as well.

Oh, Volks int. is taking an age to realease winning confirmation emails, but at least I don't have to lose hope just yet. ::crosses fingers::
