fleeting Posted February 5, 2016 I don't know which I want to try for in the after sale. I like everything about Rin BUT her overly round head, and all I want from Takane IS her head. Tough choices. Tsuneko (Alisa) - Asuka (DDH06) - Haruka (DDH06) - Momoko (DDH04) - Lux (White Xmas Alna) - Alia (DDH-07) - Kizuna (smartdoll) - Azami (Alice Kuonji) - Melty - Kos-Mos - Kirika - Sheryl Nome - Ranka Lee - Mariko Sensei - Airi (Momo)
pichu10176 Posted February 6, 2016 Wow sadness. I even saw the add cart sign but Rin sold out! TT_TT
Minuette Posted February 6, 2016 Well, I got to at least try to add Rin to my cart before she sold out. It's better than I've done in other click wars for dolls. HA!
Choppi Posted February 6, 2016 Almost had Takane... I pressed the button to add her to cart but no luck This is my first click war, is there a chance they'll come back in stock if people don't end up checking out?? I'm still refreshing just in case... The sculpts in my family: Beatrice, Rise, Komaki, Lucy, Etheldreda, Konomi, Maria, Nia, Erica, Melty, Rin T., Millhiore, Sheryl, Yoko, DDH-01, DDH-04, DDH-05, DDH-

Anna-neko Posted February 6, 2016 how does it go SOLD OUT within a minute?!?!?!? Even the insanity of the Pepsi Perfect gave me full 3 minutes to work with *retreats forever into solitude of video games*
AnyaCatSi Posted February 6, 2016 I didn't even have "add to cart" button. In preparation and then sold out already
Elagabalus Posted February 6, 2016 Apparently Takane was gone within ~5 seconds. Christ. Black lives matter
BeyondTime Posted February 6, 2016 They may not have had that many left over. It occurred to me its possible the scalpers have some form of bot that gets the dolls in their carts, but is more likely cased by the packets having to make a lot more hops to get to us than they do to get to Japanese customers. Locally the pages just load faster. On a bright note my Rin is in immigration at San Francisco. I'm hoping they aren't swamped and I get her tomorrow. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction
SakuraSylph Posted February 6, 2016 Apparently Takane was gone within ~5 seconds. Christ. Concur. Trying to add Takane to my cart returned a sold-out message as soon as my computer clock rolled over to the hour, so it was a matter of seconds. At least this time Volks did say in advance that the stock was very little, so it could have been as few as one or two Takane dolls that were being fought over by everyone in Japan and around the world. I did snag (and already pay for) a Tohsaka Rin v2 in this clickwar though, which was nice since I had lost the international lottery for her. She was gone pretty much just as fast, but the site was kind for this gal and dropped one in my cart before it quit responding temporarily. is more likely cased by the packets having to make a lot more hops to get to us than they do to get to Japanese customers. Aside: I never won any clickwars during the several years I lived in Japan, so I can say that the Japanese do not have any appreciable advantage in these competitions. BeyondTime Posted February 6, 2016 Aside: I never won any clickwars during the several years I lived in Japan, so I can say that the Japanese do not have any appreciable advantage in these competitions. It's actually long standing issue with online games. The time it takes for packets to reach overseas customers causes an appreciable enough lag that people local to the game servers are often able to see and react to things spawning into the game world before the the overseas players see them on their own screens. In a very competitive environment its a lot harder to beat people to the punch when you are 2 seconds behind other players on client updates. It's an issue that should be irrelevant to eCommerce websites, but in the case of Volks their click wars are very competitive. Hundreds of people fighting for a few items. It takes my computer around 5 seconds to load the Volks site when events aren't going on, but local websites - even media rich ones - load instantly. You still had to beat out other Japanese customers when you were in Japan. I'm not saying it's impossible for things to go your way doing the click wars from here, or are a guarantee there, but a few hundred miliseconds delay on every packet does create a disadvantage. If they had only a few dolls then a few seconds delay on the page loading kills your chances. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

In a very competitive environment its a lot harder to beat people to the punch when you are 2 seconds behind other players on client updates. You're describing the effect of latency, which is indeed an issue in online gaming. But that's not the issue we have going on at Volks. For the clickwars we have Denial of Service instead, thanks to a flood of connections all to one server. The webserver then responds to what requests it can, waits on other connections, and completely drops still other connections -- all without regard to what IP space those connections were initiated from. The website is running super slow, for everyone around the world, including Japan. Now, who gets in? That's up to whatever algorithms the author of the web serving software that Volks' hosting provider uses decided to write, in order to decide what to do. In other words it's blind luck, no matter where you live. If we were in a normal environment rather than a DoS one, then latency would certainly matter. I experienced latency delays when browsing US websites from Japan on normal days. But my experience on both continents suggests that geography isn't advantageous for Volks clickwars since the server is just choking altogether for everyone. Wayfinder Posted February 7, 2016 Received my Rin a couple of weeks ago, but I immediately had to leave the country. Now that I'm back, I've opened her. Worth every cent - she's gorgeous! These quick and dirty photos don't do her justice; I hope to be able to take better ones soon. As expected, her shirt and skirt are completely lined, which is good because I was worried about the staining potential of the deep reds and blacks. Her gem necklace is particularly pretty, even though it doesn't really go well with her outer coat. So now she's part of the family.
Cinnamoron Posted February 7, 2016 Wayfinder, thanks for sharing! She is lovely!!! It's great seeing more photos of Rin. I'm glad to know for sure that the shirt and skirt are both lined, too. Can I ask if you've noticed any staining with her socks? Or have you kept your girl in a body stocking? I'll probably be keeping mine in a stocking, but I'm just curious as to how bad they are. baldylox Posted February 7, 2016 I'm glad to know for sure that the shirt and skirt are both lined, too. Don't be too happy about that. I've owned several Volks outfits that were lined and they stained the hell out of my girls anyways.... right thru the lining! I wash any and every clothing item I think might stain now, usually in a delicates bag along with my normal laundry. Washing it thru 3 or 4 loads of laundry has netted me no staining clothes so far so I'll keep doing that. Can I ask if you've noticed any staining with her socks? Or have you kept your girl in a body stocking? I'll probably be keeping mine in a stocking, but I'm just curious as to how bad they are. Yeah, her original black stockings were HORRIBLE stainers. I do hope they used a different material this time around. If not, a body stocking or at least something under those stockings is going to be a must. I would just like her to be able to wear her default a couple of times for photos (I think I'll be too scared to leave them on her for any extended period of time)! I would just like her to be able to wear her default a couple of times for photos (I think I'll be too scared to leave them on her for any extended period of time)! With them being lined, I think you'd be fine for doing photoshoots without a full body stocking on. The ones I had that were lined and then stained had been on my girls for several days without me checking. I figured if they were lined, the girls were safe.... little did I know! So you might even be good for an entire day in the clothing, I'd just take precaution and either pre-wash them all first and then continue to check for any stains forming throughout the period she's wearing them. Elagabalus Posted February 8, 2016 Takane is heeeeere! Rin also arrived at my friend's place today, but I won't get to pick her up until next week. She's really beautiful! Her wig is kind of a disaster though. Visible wefting and super thin, fragile fibers that flyaway everywhere. Why can't Volks switch to heat resistant fibers 1 Black lives matter
