Oni-Chan Posted November 20, 2015 Hello! So awhile back I bought a mdd konomi yuzuhara and she had the usual loose knee issue. Today while poking around and pulling her apart, I've found the reason why I could tighten one knee and it would be fine but on the other the screw just kept turning and thus the knee stayed loose. 20151120_171626 by Shoujo Magic, on Flickr the part on the left is the one I can fix, the right one is the loose one, and as you can see the hole for the screw is slightly larger. I'm not sure if I've done this by trying to continuously fix the screw or not. So my question is: is there any way to fix this? Some kind of epoxy or glue I could put into the hole, then once dry put the leg back together and make a new hole for the screw thus being firm again? Opinions and advice will be greatly accepted and appreciated ♡ I have more dollfies than my age in years *×*
baldylox Posted November 20, 2015 Hey there! I've had this same problem before and the best/easiest way to repair it was to get a slightly larger diameter screw. It's easy enuff to get one from a hardware store.... but I had lots of similar sized screws in the garage because I had a bunch of radio control cars in the past. So lots of spare parts! All I had to do was find a screw a little fatter than the stock one and just screw it into the hole by hand.... just do it slowly so nothing strips back out. Then you should be good to go! I went ahead and did all my MDD bodies this way so their knees stay nice and tight. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. tunedbysaturnsl1 Posted November 20, 2015 Exactly what they said is a great idea for a fix. A slightly larger screw would be the best. I've fixed random parts on my radio controlled cars that way. If you're set on using glue, there's plenty to choose from. I believe LocTite makes a glue that works very well. JB Weld makes a plastic version as well I believe. For the screws, an Ace Hardware store is a very great bet. They have a vast assortment from small to large screws to chose from. Can probably even check out the glue section as well.
